- Fools (engl. für ‚Narren‘) ist ein Song der britischen Hardrock-Band Deep Purple, das erstmals 1971 auf ihrem Album Fireball veröffentlicht wurde. Das Stück entstand im Zeitraum zwischen 1970 und 1971 während der Tournee zum Album "Deep Purple in Rock". Aufgenommen wurde es während der einjährigen Arbeiten zum Album "Fireball". Geschrieben und eingespielt wurde es in der sogenannten Mk II-Besetzung.

They were great but there were others that were great if not better. In that era of time, Grand Funk Railroad stole many shows. Let's not forget ZZ Top! Another fav of mine was Black Oak Arkansas. But in my opinion, Rush is the greatest! Sorry, I just like North American bands more!

One of my personal favourite songs from Mk 2 lineup. The highlight is the cello effect Ritchie does on his guitar around 4.18. Page Clapton Beck Townshend could never reproduce this. And not forgetting the drumming of Paice. SUPERB.
Jeff could do it, and on a different plane.
One of their most Under Rated songs. Became a live favorite with Steve Morse in the Band for Many years.
A song that's a musical and emotional rollercoaster. Starts off softly then BAM! Then gets soft in the middle and then again BAM!
Their collective creativity and musicianship is unmatched by anyone EVER.

I love the Mule as well.
My favourite Deep Purple song by a country mile. Just love the line “Rocks and stones can’t bruise my soul but tears will leave a stain”. I could just listen to this song on repeat.

Genau. Die 60ger,70ger waren laut Musikwissenschaft und natürlich auch meiner Wenigkeit ,die kreativsten der letzten 70 Jahre. Es war die Zeit der Gesellschaftlichen Veränderungen. Naja und die einschlägigen Drogen haben der Kreativität auch keine Grenzen gesetzt. Hey Hey ,my my ,Rock and Roll can never die ..singt Neil Young, und so soll es immer sein. Ps. Too bad this wasn't performed live as the video suggests. It's a shame they didn't play their releases in their entirety in concert. They are the best Rock band ever !! The greatest line up produced, In Rock, Fireball, Machine Head, Made In Japan, Who do we think we are.

Höre diese Musik unheimlich gerne besonders fools
When I listen to Ritchie Blackmore playing the guitar like a cello, from around 5:00, I see the unique advantage string instruments have over other types of instruments. Its notes are flexible, not restrained to one same 'do re mi's because it works with strings. And I think Ritchie Blackmore really makes use of that advantage by using appropaite vibratos like when violinists play the violins. The guitar just sounds beautiful!
That solo always got me teary eyed.
When I first heard it, I thought he was using a violin bow. I have DVD of them in concert Ritchie did the cello sound on The Mule and he is making that sound with his finger.
Personally, this is Ian's best drumming. So controlled with subtle variations. To think they regard this as their worst album. For most other groups of that era, it would be their best.
@@kenchristie9214 I reckon he could bow as well as Jimmy Page or play it in some other 'perfect' way, as he's hell of a perfectionist, you know.
@@user-io6mz1yk6e As well as? Ritchie and Terry Kath are the two best guitarists I have heard. Since the mid 70's I've referred to Ritchie as a frustrated perfectionist.

The MKII had this long backside song on each of their albums. Phantastic songs. Child in Time on In Rock, Fools on Fireball, Lazy on Machine Head, and Place in LIne on Who Do We Think We Are. Fools was never played in concerts until 2000 (at least I have never seen any videos of Fools in concert before Montreux 2000). A shame.
We did see Fools performed live as an encore on July 23rd , 1971 at Pirates World in Dania , Florida . Deep Purple performed before Rod Stewart and Faces . Their set list was Speed King , Strange kind of woman , Child in time and closed with Mandrake Root . I heard Fools for the first when they as the encore .
Really, that's a shocker. I wonder if it's on a bootleg anywhere.
This was their best song, by far. It definitely deserved a video. Great job!!! Even if the it's not the same song in the video!!

А нехуй плевать в душу другим!! А мне само по себе и тот вариант и этот нравится. Слов не знаю песни, но под такую настораживающую музыку можно б было сделать про отходы от аэс. А под версию с Морсом , например в монтре 2000, клип про рассвет летний где нибудь в экзотической стране.

Second time back as a purple fan and subscribed . I wil leave much comments on every album , song , solo , performance etc . Firebal is purple s sgt pepper . You have folk , progressive , rock n roll , heavy rock . Gillan is Amazing on firebal . What a voice this tallented man got . Lord is the driving motor , and clover with his outrages bass solo on firebal . Ian paice hookes you in with his drumbeats . And ofcourse the man in black plays like a guitarwizard . Mk 2 is the best line up ever . Imagine , Gillan got kicked out , and they needed 2 great singers . What does that say about Gillan ? He could sing so much different styles , Period . Listen at jesus christ superstar , accidentel on purpose and ofcourse ian Gillan band with tormè and collin towns . And so much more . Pardon my bad english but i had to Express my feelings on this epic band .
When I was around 5yrs. Old I was at a friend's place, playing with his toys.
I picked up this colourful metal box and noticed something sticking out the side.
I started to crank it and was excited to hear gentle music coming out of it. :)
Well, you know what happened next.
That frikin Clown scared the CRAP out of me!!! (I had never seen a Jack in a box before).
Fast forward to 17yrs. Old.
A friend invited me over to listen to a new album he had recently bought.
Sitting up close to a big speaker (As teenagers do) that was cranked up pretty loud, I listened
to this unusually soft music which was a bit unusual in comparison to the songs that
preceded it.
I relaxed and started to listen, expecting to be bored.
You know what happened next!!
I jumped way up into the air and came down with my fists clenched and my eyes
Bulging out of my scull !!!!🤯
My friend rolled around in larger for quite awhile.
