Anyhow.. this kalaam (spiritual poetry/song) is from the pov of a Sufi (spiritual wanderer/a person who looks inward to discover Khudi or 'self').. simply put.. once you start looking into your 'self'... there comes a point where you realize that we (as feeble humans) are nothing without our creator (God).. so eventually you, your 'self' and 'me' (basically terms used for ego) vanish and all that's left is He (God)

Sufism (is like a strain of Islam with a lot of Hindu influences… references like ‘Hari’ and ‘mandir’ come up a lot … and has a very liberal outlook if I may. They relate with god in ways very similar to what’s also found on the Hindu side of the house … a relationship with god like a pure true hearted lover even (no adultry :) .. sufi music, poetry and art are profoundly beautiful and mesmerizing. And I agree with you, Abida Parveen has a gift. She sings straight to your soul.
