- Build your own SUP? Wooden? In 3 days?
Just the way it looks ... the video shows the test and now we going to start in real. We design a SUP Boardbau workshop for everyone who is interested. Handicraft knowledge is not required, but you should not have two left hands. We build in hollow construction with Paulonia wood and exclusively by hand. In the end you hold your jewelery in your hand and go with a whole new feeling to the Stand Up Paddling.

richtig schick ! würde ich glatt kaufen bzw. auch gerne selber bauen . das sieht vorallem real nachhaltig aus ;)
Lieben Dank! Wir lieben Holz und echte Nachhaltigkeit eben auch, deshalb haben wir das Board gebaut. Zwei Kunststoffteile am gesamten Board - Finnenkasten und FCS Plug, der Rest alles Holz in Handarbeit.
Bei Martin von Backwood Surfboards (Insta oder Web) kannst du Workshops belegen. Ein auf diese Weise gebautes Boards hat seinen Preis, unter 2500€ nicht zu verkaufen.

Sehr saubere arbeit was habt ihr für ein holz verwendet es sieht sehr leicht aus aber nach balsa schaut es nicht aus da es ja richtig fast beim hobeln 😀

Yes, do it. It's motivating and the feeling to ride a self handicrafted board is incredibly great, every single ride again!
My board weighs aprox. 12,5 kg due to a lot of layers of varnish which aren't nessecary for functionality, but intensifies the optical effect (5 times all over). It's a 12'7x30''
@@MTeichmann Nice! And thank you for the quick reply. It is not so heavy then since race boards of that size weighs about that much. Best thing is that there is very little plastic involved. Did it take you and your partner many days or hours?
@@MTeichmann you look absolutely amazed and joyful at your end product. Truly beautiful board and great gliding and tracking, it seems.
@@Jartisann only the FCS fin box is out of plastic! Sure, depending on the infrastructure you have access to, it takes long. Me myself hadn't been able to do the glassing one after another with minimum time for drying. So I had to sand the kind of wax layer which arises while drying completely everytime before the next step. All together it took me arround 200h. Other constructions take less.

If you take into account staff costs probably yes. This project was based on sustainability approach rather than costs ;)

How mich is it
1600€ ohne Finish, also nochmal 250€ Materialkosten oder 400€ wenn es vollständig fertig gemacht wird.
Wow nicht gerade billig. Aber Qualität hat hald seinen preis
Vergleichsweise ist das sogar sehr preiswert wenn man alle Kosten gegenrechnet. Kaufe ich ein Holzboard mit Schaumkern liege ich bei locker 2000€ (earth SUP zB.). Im Workshop bekomme ich dazu noch 4 Tage lang eine Anleitung und lerne alles selber, also nochmal eine deutliche Steigerung. Es ist eben Manpower, Material und vor allem keine asiatische Produktion von Niedriglohn-Arbeitern ;)
