That Stepback is OLD SCHOOL!!!! But the front and back cover is soooooo gorgeous!!! I actually think my mom had this book on her shelf when I was just a young wee tot! That’s how I got started reading Historical Romances, my mom had she leaves and shelves of old school historical romances when I was really young. I was always stealing them and always looking at all the pretty stepbacks!
Oh Bobby! I love this story!! They really are works of art. I splurged on one the other day on eBAY, and I told my sister when it arrived: "This is a collector's item!" 😍

@@mamaneedstoreadromance yeah my mom would always take them back from me, because I was way too young at the time to be reading historical romances yet, and I didn’t know about the birds and the bees yet, and my mom would always take them back from me and say “that’s too racy” for you to read. Her and my grandma both, and they would always hand me some kind of Hardy boys and Nancy Drew stuff to read. 🙄🙄 thank goodness though I’m way old enough to read them now!! I couldn’t help myself when I was that young little boy though, I was just always fascinated by how gorgeous they were!!!

I think the serious staring is capturing a moment in which "playful" went to "goodness gracious me, but you are so very hot" for both of them. At least that's what I'm getting out of it.

Wow what a story! Love the stepback, but I couldn't help noticing the weird colour break between the two pages where her legs come out of the dress. Is it just his hand there that's darker, or do her legs actually change colour? 🫣 🤣 ⚜❤
Yes! I'm noticing this with several of these, now, with everyone's help, haha! I think maybe they age differently, the cardboard pages and the glossy...other...pages? 😂 Plus they really COULD work a smidge harder to line these up a bit better. Oh well! 😆
