I was so surprised at people complaining that this storyline was ‘dragging’ on. This is meant to reflect real life. Parents and families have to go through this heartbreaking reality

@Nikki Barrett It was because Leanne refused to let it go, had she been more graceful the storyline would have been half as long which it should have been, Corrie drags out every storyline as well so they can make profit.

Steve Davidson It’s understandable if a mother refused to let her son die

@@stevedavidson5038 a mother’s bond with their child is sacred, leannes actions were justified. This a storyline that you’d want to drag out because it doesn’t just affect the child it affects the whole family

@@stevedavidson5038 this story is essentially a reflection of what happened to 23month old Alfie Evans in 2018.
He too was diagnosed with something incurable. He also was intubated and was on life support for over a year. He too had parents who just refused to let go and it had to go through the courts.
The pain on the parents were very real and they were just as tenacious about keeping their son alive. Their hope was that deep.
Sometimes it really takes a third party to call time when parents can't see the trees from the Forrest.

Honestly the amount of viewers switching up, complaining that Leanne was annoying and unlikeable during this storyline, and are now acting like they feel sorry for her makes me sick. Throughout this whole storyline I’ve always felt empathy for her character and always loved her and the amount of hypocrisy the audience have in vilifying her character makes me sick. Like for goodness sake, her son is DYING, of course she’s going to do everything she can to keep him alive, just like anyone else would. People complain about not having realistic storylines but then when there is one, they say stupid stuff like this. Jane Danson deserves an award for her acting.

He had a life threatening neurological condition that kept him having seizures
He had one so bad he went into an irreversible induced coma and they had to put him on life support which the doctors strongly suggested they disconnect
Leanne fought tooth and nail to stop it even going to court but was overruled then Oliver's kidneys and liver were starting to fail so finally Leanne agreed to disconnect the breathing and feeding tubes
