I really appreciate that this was a video where you showed the decks you liked as an alternative to the ones that you didn’t. The Tarot community is hypersensitive to criticism and you dodged that very well here. ❤️👍🏼
Such an interesting topic - I go through cycles of letting go/ not purchasing, and acquiring. It is nice to see both haul & anti-haul videos. Thank you for sharing :)
Great idea for a video! I also loved that you offered alternatives. I TWICE tried to get into the Wild Unknown, but it just did not work for me but I happen to love the Animal Spirits oracle. Go figure! I also passed on the Moon Child because I wanted more diversity. I have the Sasuraibito and love it!
going back to the archives. thank you for being so honest. I contemplated getting t he dark mirror oracle but realized my "Heal yourself reading cards" is going to suffice just fine. xoxoxo
Hi Lisa, such a great video I do not buy decks unless I am going to use them. When I started watching all these great videos on tarot reviews I got caught up in the excitement of it all and purchased a couple of decks that once I received them did not like and or connect with which at the end winds up being such a waste. I now am mindful when buying a deck and know how I will be working with it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with collecting decks but I am not a collector the decks that I have are all workhorses for me and I have form a connection with them. Such a great topic Thanks for the share.
Fantastic video Lisa, thank you so much for sharing this with us! I love how you talked about the decks that didn't work for you and then showed what you had in your collection that filled the niche. It's a really wonderful way to make thoughtful choices when it comes to adding to your collection. 😊 Really enjoyed this.
Hi! I’m very new to reading tarot and oracle. I bought the wild unknown tarot and animal spirit oracle deck because everyone was talking about them online, so I started with them. But they didn’t do anything for me. I love animals and I really wanted the animal spirit one to. But one I did pick for myself and I boned with easily, was The Witches Tarot by Ellen Dugan. The artwork is gorgeous! And I plan to use that deck for your series Tarot with training wheels.
I have done amazing shadow work with the Caroline Myss archetype cards. You may find them to be a compliment to your great self worth Saturday's. Cool video!
I really appreciate this video for 2 reasons: 1) You admit that this is based solely on opinion. So many people do reviews and try to state their opinions as fact. But I like that you admit it has nothing to do with the artwork or interpretation, and these decks might even be someone else's absolute favorite deck. But for you, it's just not working for whatever reason, and that's 100% ok. 2) I love, love, LOVE that you give an alternative to the negative deck. Like if someone else is experiencing similar problems to the same deck(s) you are, they have a similar deck available to check out. And I think that's what makes this video actually, tangibly useful rather than simply informational like most reviews. Great review, and I'd love to see more videos like this!
I really really appreciate this type of video. What a great idea and love the full transparency. We all have wins and losses don't we? Thanks for keeping it real. :) oh and I really like how you do share which similar deck did work for you. And thank you so much for the heads up about the Devil card in the Slow Tarot. That is indeed a deal breaker for me as well.
Hi, I just discovered your channel, and of course I had to subscribe! I used to be into tarot when I was in my late teens-early twenties. There were a LOT fewer decks and no diversity. So, when I started to look again I was blown away by the number of decks, the various styles, and the diversity. I immediately began to buy decks. Then I slowed down and adopted a similar approach to yours. I have 13 decks and 5 on the way. I only work with a few of them, and the others I have just for their beauty. But when I'm considering a new deck I like to think about whether or not I'm getting one that is similar to one I already have. If so, I don't get it. Watching and listening to you, discussing your decks and possible new purchases is very enlightening. Also reading the comments is interesting. Anyway, I'm rambling. Just hi, and keep up the very interesting, good work.
HI and welcome!!! :) Yessss when I was learning Tarot, initially, there was really only a handful of decks. Tarot has come so far!! The variety can be intoxicating and I LOVE the variety and diversity available now - because every new deck has something to teach me, but I gotta reign it in too or I get overwhelmed and what I do have doesn't get my full appreciation!
This is such a cool idea for a video! I sensed the Slow Tarot wasn’t for me even though it is very beautiful, so I didn’t look super closely at it, but yeah, that Devil card would have been an absolute dealbreaker for me too...I have done wayyyyy too much inner work on NOT seeing food as the devil! I also feel the same way about the True Black...so stunning! Just not for me. The way all the figures are spotlighted against a black background makes me feel like I’m looking at a diorama! It’s such a cool and elegant effect but feels kind of distancing.
I love the idea of this video! And I really appreciate the “what I like/use instead” portions especially because it encourages use of one’s own collection or points to more readily available decks (for certain examples). I haven’t checked if you e done a walkthrough of tarot of trees yet, but if you haven’t I’d love to see it. Thanks for posting this video 😊
Great video thank you! With the pre Raphaelite and Victorian Tarot, I feel the colour scheme doesn’t resonate true to that era. Even though I do like the brightness of the tones, everything really pops, the expressions and the details, but for me, I wish the tone was there (inner artist speaking) I had a look at the Tarot Delphi, and yes that scratches that itch! Before I found out about TH-cam reviews, I would buy decks based on their front cover, but would find that once opened, that first cover photo did not resonate with the rest of the deck! With that deck you bought with the book stuck to the box, I’m unsure if I’m way too late to comment, but you could borrow a paper cutter and just trim the book clean off without ripping, and get a nice thick ribbon to keep it all together, if you wanted to. Also, the slow Tarot, with the devil card. Yes I completely agree, I almost bought a deck and this deck had the snake as the devil which I didn’t like as to me this represents kundalini energy, so I didn’t get this one. It’s Shame because it’s such a high energy card that deserves to the represented appropriately, and not just the easiest, or the stereotypical. Anyway, thank you!
Lisa, I've found myself spending more time on your channel in the last two weeks. Just want to mention that I really appreciate your "anti-haul" videos. What I like about it, is that you will offer another deck that might be in the same or similar genre.
Fantastic topic and video Lisa, thank you for bring this up! to Reply to your question to each of us, what we have decided not ot buy, so many of the ones you mentions in the video, would be too long list :)
I so much enjoyed this vid! I'm a beginner with tarot and already feel the greed that I see so many decks that I would love to have. I 'buy' them online and put them on a wishlist where they stay for a while. Sometimes I'll buy them, although most of the time I throw them from my wishlist. Main reason is that I want to be a more advanced reader before I get into more decks. But it is useful to work like this because I got to know myself with decks for what appeals to me. One of the decks that got off my list is 'The wisdom of Avalon'. I got 'The Good Tarot' and I love the artwork and the feel of holding these cards. I use them as oracle cards. But in a way I can't connect with them as I wanted to. They feel in a way 'distant'. The main decks on my wishlist now are 'The Crow Tarot' and 'The Housewives tarot'. The first because of the 'Morrigan feel'. The second one because it feels like it belongs to the book 'Kitchen table tarot'. That deck seems so much fun to me and not taken too seriously. I want them to use as cards to remind me to where I'm grateful for or what brings me joy. Besides that I'm a fan of vintage.
Omg, I loved this video! I felt the same way about the Slow Tarot and that card: After seeing it, it was a firm no. I might have to do a VR. Thanks for sharing your thoughts ❤️
I really wanted to back the slow Tarot too, but I had the exact same reaction about the 10 of Swords. Just could not get past that one personally (shudder 🤭). But it is really so beautiful truly.
Great anti-haul, I came here by way of video 3 then video 2, I've enjoyed them all. Oh my gosh, 100% agree about Dreams of Gaia! I picked up that deck and Osho Zen at the same time, my very first decks, when I knew absolutely nothing about tarot (ha, I'm still a complete newbie). Osho Zen gives brilliant 1 and 3 card readings that are so on point it's scary, but the sly, tongue-in-cheek humor makes the truth palatable. Dreams of Gaia, otoh, seems formal and sumptuous, like I'm afraid I'll use the wrong fork at a fancy dinner.
I actually really like the dark mirror deck it works very well when I did royal reading.. I love the pre refaelite tarot and usually use it with the wizard's tarot don't know if you ended up getting the modern witch tarot but its amazing as I especially in these days and days. I have the archetype round deck but I haven't used it even once..
Lisa this is so good. when you mentioned not resonating with animal decks that dont have scenes I totally get that. I will know think more about the decks in my collection before purchase, Just wonderful 💗
What a great idea for a video! I'm also already regretting backing the Slow Tarot. It seemed amazing when I first saw it, but looking at the images now I have a feeling it's going to sit on the shelf. I hope I'm wrong. I'm still on the fence about the Relative Tarot, leaning toward a 'no'. The lowest tier is pretty expensive, and I'm just not into photographic decks.
Thank you for the video! I was torn between Modern Witch Tarot and This Might Hurt Tarot. I went with Modern Witch, but I find both are extremely similar. I see myself in This Might Hurt, but I see my loved ones more in Modern Witch, so it was a tough choice. I also found the tone of the Modern Witch deck to be a little more serious, while This Might Hurt was slightly more on the whimsical and playful side. Also, Modern Witch tarot was significantly cheaper, so that helped sway my decision! I probably wont be complete until both are centered on my shelf though😅 I also find it interesting how different each person's taste in decks can range. What works for some doesn't always work for others.
See I really love the Modern Witch Tarot it speaks to me so much which is super surprising because I'm usually an Indie deck girl. Also I'm usually into darker themed cards so it's definitely a first for me. This Might Hurt Tarots art work isn't my favorite.
Thanks Lisa, I really enjoyed this video and thought you did a good job of highlighting the positive qualities of your anti-haul decks while explaining why they weren't right for you personally. I only have a few decks because I like having a really close connection with a few - and because I'm really fussy about diveristy and this puts me off a lot of otherwise nice decks (This Might Hurt Tarot is on my list because it ticks all my boxes on that score!). But, a deck that I seriously considered buying for ages was the Illuminated Tarot. In the end I decided not to after seeing Simon's review of it over at Hermit's Cave, and I'm really glad about that decision.
Thank you for this video! I love your kind energy and I love the idea for this video. I like that you not only made it clear what you still admired in decks you chose not to go with but offered alternative ideas. I like the reminder that taste in decks is largely subjective For me, I also really considered the True Black tarot but decided that if I got it, it would be more because it looked so pretty than because I really felt any connection to the art. Another one was Fate Shifters tarot which looks --great--but I feel so uncomfortable with the body beautiful imagery on the astrology cards. Self love is definitely something I need to work on but I'm not sure the way. Is there any chance you have done/will do a video on decks that you find particularly affirming, body image wise? Thanks again!
Thank you! I do plan to do a video on decks that are more body diverse or good for self worth. That video is probably a couple months out but will happen!
I Just discovered your channel this week ! and let me say I love it ! I have been watching a bunch of your videos in a row ! Plus we have +/- the same taste in Tarot decks! I would love if you can do a Video with all gilded and edged tarot decks! I don't like to buy anymore tarot decks with white plain edges, they really don't appeal to me, and i am not good at handcrafting lol, so I don't want to take the risk and spoil one of my decks ! So would be amazing if you could show us all decks you know of with gilding and egding! I have been looking for them all over the places! thank you
I love that wizard tarot....and laughing that the Harry Potter doesn’t speak to me. Just an example of how great an idea this video is. ;) New to the community-not to tarot-subscribed because love your videos. Off to find the wizard tarot! Great video.
Thanks for sharing. It's so interesting, isn't it, how decks we love art-wise can end up not working for us for other reasons (similarity to other decks we love more, just not speaking to us clearly). We have quite a few 'not going to buy' decks in common, and a few different (I want the Neo Tarot, despite the box!). I just may do a VR. [Also - wow - somehow Slow Tarot was never on my radar until now but yeah... that card is a *total* deal-breaker for me too, same reasons.]
Ha, it's funny you mentioned This Might Hurt as an alternative to Modern Witch, because I preordered/Kickstarted both. The creator of This Might Hurt is one of my fave comic artists, and I have several of her zines, so I jumped on it. For me, the Modern Witch, even though it is a modern deck, is actually a candidate to swap out my current RWS clone because the imagery is so similar to the RWS despite the updates, and I'd much rather have a racially diverse RWS. I find myself reaching for the Crystal Unicorn when I want traditional images, because I'd rather have all unicorns than all white people. 😂
(Also, I think you made the right call on the Wild Messengers. It is stunning, but as soon as I got it and started looking at the guidebook, I realized I was going to need to set aside some time and specifically study this deck in depth. I haven't read with it yet because of this, though I'm looking forward to doing that study eventually.)
Hi Lisa, I'm super excited to see this kind of videos and so many comments about it. I 100% agree and have mentioned this before that we need a space to feel free and express what we don't like and what we have decided not to get/buy. Watching this video made me smile! VR coming for sure :D Not sure if someone has already asked, but I would love to see a video on the "Tarot of Trees", which I believe just sold out on Etsy... oh well. I'm loving the art, and I have small hands, so I always welcome small decks, since I do like to riffle shuffle! :D Thanks again!
Very good idea. I have given a lot of thought to this very subject and many of the same decks. The part about having a deck that already fits in a certain niche of the collection...TOTALLY. I also think it's good to tell yourself that you're not going to pay stupid money for an OOP (or you ARE) That way you can stop arguing with yourself every time you see it. It's going to be hard to find more/different/new/edgy decks. There have been soooo many beautys put out in the last couple years.
I am waiting for my slow deck to come the stock and the strength got me . I love the devil card or temptation is perfect, temptation external and internal true devil of ourselves . This was nice and refreshing . I love my deck of the bastard ,stock and personal back choices is so nice I always get her bags .. love to organize. My fav right now is dark mansion tarot !
I’m here after first watching your anti haul #2 and I’m so very excited about this series! It’s good on so many levels, so please know that every one you release will end up in front of my eyeballs and I’ll be cheering you on as I watch!! 🙌🏻❤️
I loved this video sooooo much, Lisa! By watching it, I realised we have a similar taste in decks! So fun to see that all of your Anti-Decks were my "NAYs" and most of the YES ones were my "YAYs"! The Deck of the Bastard has become one of my favourite decks and I think you'll love it a lot, too! Thank you for filming this great video!
I have the true black and its unlike ANYTHING ive ever seen or touched... but its funny bc i rarely reach for it. But damn its beautiful. I have the moonchild too and its do beautiful too and i do reach for it more, but i reach for the luna sol and the radiant wise spirit. The rws i have in my hands daily...
I hadn't seen Kim Krans Archetypes Oracle yet, but I agree with you with the others. I have only Wild Animals, I was very attracted watching on video, but I haven't consacrated yet even after one year. I don't like too much black and white cards, so I think they will await a little bit more, while I play with other Animal decks. As about Carolyn Miss deck, in my wishlist too, I heard from a friend the booklet is very poor and confusing, but I still like the concept.
Really enjoyed watching this. And definitely purchasing the lost forest deck...lol. LOVE that style SO much. I'm actually not a fan of the original rider waite deck imagery.
So many people have decks that they will never use. I have five decks...only use two (Universal Tarot and Robin Wood). The other three to me are quite unusable. Just bought them because they “ looked cool.” I like the premise of this video.
@@beyondthemurk OMG SAAAAME. I thought I was going to love Deviant Moon it was my first deck but i just can not work with it at all. I'm currently trying to get rid of it lol I don't like having too many decks. I just want my faves
This was cool, as a fellow depth-year journeyer.... this video gave me a lot of relief. Thank you for sharing, I was also feeling like the Modern Witch Tarot is just not a necessity at the moment, so it's nice to know I'm not the only one.
I love hearing about decks that DON'T work for people, probably more than I like hearing about the ones that do - because it's so easy to get hyped for something only to find out it doesn't work because we weren't looking at it with a more critical eye! I can't wait to make another one!
Wow that first deck is gorgeous! What a shame, I also wouldn't get past that card (paper!) stock. Thanks again. Love these vids of yours. Blessings x ... Did you purchase the Myss archetype cards? I have those and as a Jungian and shadow-worker they are very good.
Lisa, the first deck you showed, you could back. It would make it thicker. And you could use a gold paint pen to re-edge it. Just an idea if you really like it and want to work with it :-) Just a note, if you back it don't use a corner rounder on it (it will stick), just trim with scissors. P.S. Love the video. Nice to see this point of view.
Brilliant video it was different to see decks not wanted and a thorough explanation of why not, you always make sense. I’ve got so many decks on my wish list, I’ve had to slow down as I’ve bought so many in last 2 months. I just bought Crow tarot after seeing your video, but I don’t have anything like this. I wanted the Wild wood tarot, but I already have Druidcraft tarot. These are so similar...which do you prefer if either? I really want Everyday Witch but I have the Green Witch tarot, however Everyday witch has a quirky fun feel to it, but it feels very young so not sure. I want to see older people in a tarot. I have Moonology oracle and thanks to Jens video fell in love with Queen of the moon oracle as those images are so beautiful.....argh so many amazing choices lol. But thank you for helping to make those choices.
I've tried multiple times to connect with the WIldwood Tarot and just couldn't. Druidcraft is a keeper for me. I had the same debate with myself between Green Witch and Everyday Witch. I LOVE Everyday Witch - it is SUCH a gem. If you like more modern-feel decks that feature all ages - have you seen the Everyday Enchantments Tarot by Poppy Palin? That one is a beauty and I do have a couple videos about it on my channel!
Supportive Tarot Thanks for your reply, I definitely love my Druidcraft so I’m going to leave off getting Wild wood...er...for now anyway lol. I’ve literally fallen in love with my Crow tarot, I’ve never loved a deck like this it actually made me feel a bit emotional. Huge thank you for your walk throughs and real information I’m learning fast and enjoying it even more. I never thought I could do this.
I liked this video. I just recently bought radiant wise tarot cuz that is only my second rider waite Smith deck compared to the original 1971, which is not so beautiful to look at but the cardstock is awesome. Do u think u will do a oracle deck video like this one?
I think I'll keep Tarot/Oracle mixed up in these anti-hauls. I just had less oracle decks to 'anti-haul' for this first one but there will likely be more oracle decks featured in the next one.
I love the idea of an anti-haul video - fantastic! The Victorian Romantic AND the Alice Tarot don't resonate for me at all. My fave Baba decks are the Tarot of Prague and Bohemian Gothic. I have to admit the sheer avalanche of new decks every year puts me off - there's no way you can get them all and I think I'm rebelling against the rampant tarot consumerism. My most commonly used deck now is a vintage 70s 1JJ Swiss - as far as I can get from new decks.
I totally hear that! I thoroughly enjoy getting new decks, but I want it to be a mindful/enjoyable process rather than a mindless grabby hands experience, ya know? 🤗
Sorry, I didn't understand why you are disappointed about "Heal Yourself Oracle" by Inna Segal. I received last week and did the Unboxing on Monday. I was waitinf for this deck from March (it got lost in shipping) and I am mostly satisfied. I have the Color Cards too and will try to get the decks working together, maybe also tomorrow for Full Moon, when I consacrate my new decks.
There may be a misunderstanding - I love the Heal Yourself Oracle!!! :) It's a part of my spiritual practice and I pull a new card to work with every full moon! :)
Where do you sell your tarot cards? I have one, that I regret - it doesn't really speak to me :) And where do you get all your pouches for your cards? :D
I believe it was Samantha Menzo who came up with the "Saucy Burrito". "Speaking of Witch" that's how I found your channel. I've binged all the anti-haul videos backwards from latest to earliest. Just wanna throw out there you keep saying in all your anti-haul videos that you want to learn the Thoth tarot system but you haven't seen to have done it yet 😂😂 I eventually want to learn that too.
This honest assessment was terrific; wish we had more of em. Did you mention the Bottanical Deck? This is the new one from the artist of The Idiosyncradeck.
I planned to but totally forgot when I filmed this. Yes I backed Bottanical and am looking forward to using it as my primary plant/herbal-based deck - we shall see!!
Love love love the Neo... I just cut it off the box no muss no fuss!!! The book is fantastic.... love the self care rituals included.... for me I see no comparison with Sasuraibito.... I absolutely adore the Sasuraibito and the Neo.... for me they really are two very different decks ... and if this is something of importance to you, which it is for me, the Neo is extremely diverse. With you on Vic Rom.... Yes, about that Devil Card!!!! I took idiosyncradeck off my wish list, too! And after doing so sealed the deal by trading my amethyst oracle!! Fun and interesting video. Really enjoyed hearing your reasoning about what you’re not gonna buy!!!! I’m trying to be more considerate about my purchases, too. I have way too many decks as it is and to keep adding at a rapid pace is just not sustainable.... in terms of doing service to my decks...
I get interested in decks but I'm not gonna buy every deck. Just the ones that I keep coming back again and again. Like I love the starchild deck but moonchild isn't on my wishlist. I've noticed with those you like one or the other.
yes they are and thank you so much! :) The wall racks they hang from cost $2.99cad and the hooks are 5 for $.99 - all the bags are made by my wife Peggy (Sparx Creations on Etsy - www.etsy.com/shop/sparxcreations)
I love this idea. This should be turned into a # topic. I think I might do an inventory during my summer break and follow in your footsteps, because my wishlist since the 31 days of tarot has changed a lot and I took a few things off that list. And who knows, some of the things one person might not like may be appealing to another person and provide a reason to get a certain item. Great basis for trading for example. There is nothing wrong with talking about personal opinions as long as it is done respectfully :-) Great video! Thanks.
What a wonderful idea! Especially including what already fills that niche for you. I feel exactly the same about the Pre-Raphaelite tarot! I am desperate for the Tarot of Delphi to come back in print, so much so that I would pay OOP prices for it if I didn’t already have the Mythic Tarot (my first & favorite tarot deck). From what I understand of the Delphi deck, it’s the same concept as Mythic with different art....? I would love it if someone who has both would do a comparison video, I just don’t know who to beg to make this happen. Lol
@@Lisa_Papez I decided to try to compare them myself by grabbing my Mythic Tarot & watching a walk through of Tarot of Delphi, but I ran into a huge snag... I'm not familiar with the art in Tarot of Delphi. I think there's a book (can't remember if it was published or a print-it-yourself kind of deal) which explains the stories tied to each piece of artwork. I know some of the information is available on the website, but not all...? I don't know, apparently I need to spend more time on the website. :/ So, I guess, what I need more than a comparison with the Mythic Tarot (although that would be super-awesomely-amazing) is a walk through of the Tarot of Delphi that talks about the deities/stories depicted in each card. I haven't been able to find one so far. Any idea as to who might be willing to take on such a task?
@@pixelposy I have NO idea! I actually originally thought you meant a walkthrough side by side of the Tarot of Delphi with the Pre-Raphealite! I have the Mythic, I do think the art style is SO different between the two decks!
@@Lisa_Papez Supportive Tarot I just re-watched Kelly's (The Truth in Story) video on Tarot of Delphi. I want to kick my own butt for not going straight back to her first! I know I had watched it before but for some reason I didn't think she mentioned all the stories. What the ____ was I thinking?! She's the QUEEN of reviews! I shall never doubt her again!!! I am now completely convinced I need Tarot of Delphi in my life! Now I just need a comparison with the Pre-Raphaelite before I let myself spend OOP money on Tarot of Delphi OR I need patience to see if it truly will be printed again. :/ I'm scared my patience may fail me... and as soon as I do... the deck will be reprinted. lol
I know this is waaaaay after the fact...but did you ever think about re-backing the Manuscript of Initiations Tarot? If you still have it hanging around somewhere - you could buy an inexpensive printing brayer - some adhesive - and then either use another deck around the same size that doesn't work - or buy a blank deck - and just remount them? ❤️ ~✿~❧~🌿~❧~✿~ ❤️ Thought i'd go ahead and mention this in case someone else has a similar problem with artwork they love - or yours is still hanging around somewhere... ❤️ ~✿~❧~🌿~❧~✿~ ❤️
Thanks so much Lisa! Really enjoyed this and it's 'not negative', but 'if this doesn't work for you, maybe this will' aesthetic. I kind of know what you mean about the Pre-Raphaelite Tarot. I have both it and the Mystical Tarot, and love them both, but they both seem to have a moody cast to them that somehow leaves me feeling a bit melancholy. While I don't find the Pre-Raphaelite comparable to the Tarot of Delphi which I have, I must say that I bought the Tarot of Delphi when it was more affordable than the Decadent Dream Tarot, which was my first choice (but passed on because of expense and some similar use of images), and while I find it a beautiful deck artwise, the card stock is very thick, the cards are awkwardly (for me) oversized, the backs are gorgeous and the book is amazing with info . about all the artists featured, I felt that the artwork was forced onto a system, and, while beautiful to look at, the cards didn't read intuitively for me...that might change over time (and I'm not parting with the deck...it just doesn't currently work for me).
As about the Dark Mirror Oracle, I didn't know even if I live in Italy (will search for) I feel it is a deck for Shadow Work, and maybe you are not able to do. I have some of this type of Oracles and they speak
Doing shadow work is definitely an important part of my practice. That Dark Mirror Oracle deck wasn't' the one for me but I'm sure it's wonderful for a lot of people doing shadow work!
@@Lisa_Papez I'll definitely give a chance. I actually do Shadow Work with "Wisdom of the House of Night", "Shadows and Light" and the newcome "Dark Goddess Oracle". And I'll add to my Coaching tools also the Inna Segal deck.
I really appreciate that this was a video where you showed the decks you liked as an alternative to the ones that you didn’t. The Tarot community is hypersensitive to criticism and you dodged that very well here. ❤️👍🏼
how do I watch a Decks I'm not gonna buy video and still want to buy decks?! LMAO!!!
Funny how that happens.... LOL

thank you...what a brilliant review....very clever to do the one you won't get vs the one you have and use
Thank you!
The Fountain Tarot has a couple cards in it that make me feel the way you feel about The Slow Tarot. The artwork is sublime though.
I have done amazing shadow work with the Caroline Myss archetype cards. You may find them to be a compliment to your great self worth Saturday's. Cool video!
That's great feedback, thank you!!!
Great video and suggestions, but I am living for the crokinole board in the background 😄 you can tell you're Canadian when...
I really appreciate this video for 2 reasons:
1) You admit that this is based solely on opinion.
Thank you so much! And definitely will be making these on a regular basis!
I really enjoyed watching..... there were a lot of decks I have never seen 🦄
Love the Dark Oracle artwork. Love the Heal Yourself Reading Deck, artwork is great.
I dearly love this deck. It really does speak and it's solid in speaking to me.
I had the same problem with the Dark Mirror Oracle 🙏🏻
Love the heal yourself Oracle deck!!!
True Black really IS super elegant!!
My walkthrough of Tarot of Trees is up now! :) th-cam.com/video/GZGSjmjo-Hw/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for a very nicely balanced review of your thought process. It actually helped me think through some of my own needs vs wants. :-) Excellent!
Lisa, I've found myself spending more time on your channel in the last two weeks. Just want to mention that I really appreciate your "anti-haul" videos. What I like about it, is that you will offer another deck that might be in the same or similar genre.
I'm so glad you're enjoying them!
I know what you mean - I've totally had that experience before.
Omg, I loved this video! I felt the same way about the Slow Tarot and that card: After seeing it, it was a firm no. I might have to do a VR. Thanks for sharing your thoughts ❤️
I'd love to see your VR!!! If you do decide to make a VR, use #TarotTubeAntiHaul 😘
I enjoy hearing your thoughts on the decks :)
Vive just started to watch this video but oh my god thumbs up for Kimberly Clark! And what an amazing idea!
Thanks so much!
I probably wont be complete until both are centered on my shelf though😅
I also find it interesting how different each person's taste in decks can range.
Disclaimer! Lol I like the art work of this Might Hurt but just not for my tarot cards
I love this, Lisa. Such a great topic. Thank you for doing this.
I like the reminder that taste in decks is largely subjective
For me, I also really considered the True Black tarot but decided that if I got it, it would be more because it looked so pretty than because I really felt any connection to the art.
Love this kind of videos! Thanks for sharing, and for beautiful alternative options.... 🌼🌼🌼
I have been looking for them all over the places! thank you
Would you share your strategy for storing and organizing your tarot decks?
I'd LOVE to see more of the little Tarot of Trees! ❤️
You got it!!!
If you do decide to do a VR, use #TarotTubeAntiHaul as the hashtag! I'd love to see it.
I have to stop wahyour inhauls, because I discover à LOT of beautiful decks I want to have 🤩
OMG! I wanted to do one of these videos as well! Been thinking about it a lot and especially with all of the kickstarters that I have had to pass up!
Nice!! If you decide to do one - use hashtag #TarotTubeAntiHaul and I should be able to find it! 😘
@@Lisa_Papez Cool! I totally will 😊
(Groan) I just sold and shipped off my Brady Tarot. I liked the keywords but the style just wasn’t right for me. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
It definitely wasn't for everyone - keywords can be very polarizing for sure!
VR coming for sure :D
Not sure if someone has already asked, but I would love to see a video on the "Tarot of Trees", which I believe just sold out on Etsy... oh well. I'm loving the art, and I have small hands, so I always welcome small decks, since I do like to riffle shuffle! :D
Thanks again!
There have been soooo many beautys put out in the last couple years.
i lovvve the carolun myss archetype deck...just like having it!
The Crow Tarot is the one I want to buy a Tarot reader I follow has been using and showing the Crow Tarot💜💜💜💜💜
What a great video! I love hearing your perspective on this. Thank you for sharing darling 🥰😍😊🤩
I’m here after first watching your anti haul #2 and I’m so very excited about this series! It’s good on so many levels, so please know that every one you release will end up in front of my eyeballs and I’ll be cheering you on as I watch!! 🙌🏻❤️
Yay! Thanks!
That was another super video ,just like all your videos ,I love your channel ,and you're a truly delightful human .☻
Neo Tarot is my recent purchase regret. The card stock is not good and the whole book situation is a major bummer.
I have the true black and its unlike ANYTHING ive ever seen or touched... but its funny bc i rarely reach for it. But damn its beautiful. I have the moonchild too and its do beautiful too and i do reach for it more, but i reach for the luna sol and the radiant wise spirit. The rws i have in my hands daily...
ohno # 2 ! mirror, is a FINAL FANTASY FRANCHISE ARTIST iTs coming tomorrow, i think i can use it with, moon phases i like astrology
I regret buying a couple. but I was disappointed I didn't connect with the 8 coins tattoo tarot. is so gorgeous but I can read with it.😕
It is pretty - and I can read with it, but it's not one I'm particularly excited to reach for these days.
I love the alice tarot, can you please write who’s the artist and where you got it? Thanks
It's from Baba Studios. It's OOP (out of print)
I suggest old fashioned photo corners to put the first deck in an album. The cards would not be damaged and can easily be removed.
Thank you SO much for providing a suggestion - that is SUCH a great idea!! Photo corners! Of course!!
Really enjoyed watching this. And definitely purchasing the lost forest deck...lol. LOVE that style SO much. I'm actually not a fan of the original rider waite deck imagery.
Whoah. So many bags. do you do a lot of sachet workings? Love this video btw!
My wifey makes all my tarot bags. That said, when I get little bags in from other things, I DO enjoy doing sachet workings! LOL
So many people have decks that they will never use. I have five decks...only use two (Universal Tarot and Robin Wood). The other three to me are quite unusable. Just bought them because they “ looked cool.” I like the premise of this video.
Like the Deviant Moon. I love the artwork, but it is unreadable to me. I also highly dislike minor arcana with pips instead of images. Thank you.
@@beyondthemurk OMG SAAAAME. I thought I was going to love Deviant Moon it was my first deck but i just can not work with it at all. I'm currently trying to get rid of it lol I don't like having too many decks. I just want my faves
@@beyondthemurk yea pips are an instant NO for me. No offense to the artist but it seems a little lazy and boring to me
nd I really appreciate your insightfullness and thoroughness. Thank you for having a channel.
This comment is probably too late, but you can get contact and contact the back to make the card stock more stable. That’s for the first deck.
@@Lisa_Papez yes i agree, we need more honest reviews like this one!
Wow that first deck is gorgeous! What a shame, I also wouldn't get past that card (paper!) stock. Thanks again. Love these vids of yours. Blessings x ... Did you purchase the Myss archetype cards? I have those and as a Jungian and shadow-worker they are very good.
Woaaahhhh the Devil card in the Slow Tarot is awful! It would be a deal breaker for me too. Thank you so much for speaking up about it.
Love this idea!!! I enjoyed it so much.
Thanks Lisa ❤️😘
Lisa, the first deck you showed, you could back. It would make it thicker. And you could use a gold paint pen to re-edge it. Just an idea if you really like it and want to work with it :-) Just a note, if you back it don't use a corner rounder on it (it will stick), just trim with scissors. P.S. Love the video. Nice to see this point of view.
Thanks!! I've never backed a deck and to be honest the idea kinda scares me! That said, I'm kinda diggin' my plan to use it in some sort of a journal!
@@Lisa_Papez so, why you regret having bought? I still don't understand, sorry
Oh I adorrrrre my Amethyst Oracle - and I backed the Bottanical! 😜
I'm sorry you didn't like the Dark Mirror Oracle 😔 I'm still gonna get it but I'll be back if I don't resonate with it
I get interested in decks but I'm not gonna buy every deck. Just the ones that I keep coming back again and again. Like I love the starchild deck but moonchild isn't on my wishlist. I've noticed with those you like one or the other.
It was a really good video and a lot of the decks that you have introduced, i'm not into neither ;-) Love and light from Belgium :) Steph
Are those bags of tarot decks on the wall? If yes, what an amazing way to store them!
yes they are and thank you so much!
Thanks.
So true!! If you want to make a VR, use #TarotTubeAntiHaul 😘
@@Lisa_Papez will do :-) thank you.
Lol
SAME! Let's figure out who has both and also makes vids and make it happen!
So, I guess, what I need more than a comparison with the Mythic Tarot (although that would be super-awesomely-amazing) is a walk through of the Tarot of Delphi that talks about the deities/stories depicted in each card.
Supportive Tarot That comparison probably makes more sense! I’d love to see that too! 🤓
❤️ ~✿~❧~🌿~❧~✿~ ❤️
Thought i'd go ahead and mention this in case someone else has a similar problem with artwork they love - or yours is still hanging around somewhere...
❤️ ~✿~❧~🌿~❧~✿~ ❤️
I really enjoyed this 💕
Diggin the anti-haul atm 💖🎆🦄🌻
Awesome video for many reasons - thanks so much!
How do you edge decks?
Great vid! Really enjoyed your approach and your thought process. (This would make a cool hashtag VR)
Too true! :D If you want to make a VR, use #TarotTubeAntiHaul and we can find it!
I agree with a lot of these but there's maybe 4-5 on the list that I'd like to add to my collection at some point :)
I really appreciated hearing your perspective on the Tarot of Delphi - thank you!!! :)
I love The Fountain Tarot 💞
Glad to know I’m not alone in all this deck fomo concept
