It just shows his amazing songwriting capability, but I can’t think of many songs of his that don’t. This is definitely an example of one of his more country sounding songs. I just think it’s beautiful, and of course his vocals Never disappoint. And to answer your question, yes, I absolutely relate to the song. It takes me back to periods in my life where I’ve had the same kind of thoughts after a break up. I am happily married now, but there’s still a certain nostalgia about this when I listen to it.
