Min 19:39 "Can't say I'm a fan of sand"... The guy who's falling in front of you has the Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR on his bike. Those tires aren't a fan of sand either. Like your 850GS so much - just beautiful, but I figured that a Fantic Caballero 500 Rally will be the wiser/lighter choice. (I testdrove it and it felt like a mountain bike compared to my V-Strom 650 XT). Thanks for your Vids and greetings form Germany.
3:18 One trick to support this technique of upright the bike is to push one gear ⚙️ to lock up the engine with the wheel so you don’t have to grabs the front brake to prevent the wheel movements
Thanks for the very informative video. Even though I have the baby GS and only plan on mild gravel and dirt roads, I still plan on taking some BMW training.
Just caught up with this one Steve. once again, well presented. Love your casual, unpretentious style. Like you, I find sand riding has no redeeming characteristics at all. I find no pleasure in sand riding, Generally too much effort for too little reward. I only do so when it becomes a means to an end. Great insight into the Mt Seaview programme. Thanks again.

Hi Steve, great video! Just a couple of questions: * Were you in Enduro Mode during the whole course? * What pressure did you used in the deep sand? Cheers, Leo
Hi, I have the enduro plug fitted so i have enduro pro mode which i use all the time offroad. BMW suggest you don't lower tyre pressure s o keep them at road pressure in the sand. cheers
Very nice to see....when I get my 1250 come around May 2021 I'll be taking several classes. 4 Days....this was a big one. I'm in America and I'm curious, how much did this 4 day course cost. You can give it in AUS $ and I'll figure the conversion. Thanks for the look at what to expect, now I'd like my wallet to know what to expect .
Good job and so much fun! Even an occasional nap. This is why we ride these beauties. We all learn something. I’d anything to stay relaxed. Ride safe and ride often. Peace.
Seemingly great instructors . I Bloody love Australia! I had chance to move there 15 years ago ... but backed out of it! (Coincidentally, Avoca beach not far from Newcastle)
G’day, I have only had experience with Metzler Karoo 3’s, but they have been good for me. They are quite chunky so good for sand and mud, however they also perform well on the highway. There is a bit of noise from them, but they seem stable and quite OK for highways. If you do mostly highways, then the other tyre I have are the Michelin Anakee. These are a road tyre but can be used off-road although not as good as the Karoo’s in the dirt. I hope this helps, cheers
I'm sorry but this really shouldn't be called a Masterclass, it looks like a great class and very helpful for beginners and some intermediate but it's no masterclass.
@@StevesBikes01 I have to admit I was thinking along the lines of what Galavanta said but then I realized you have a successful class and riders new and old learn and get a perspective from another rider, maybe more experienced, maybe not. My point is there are tons of riders new to riding that learn quite a bit during these sessions. Experienced riders see this as a way to broaden their way of showing/teaching.
Hi, Yes, but this was a class in how to do a number of maintenance items so showing us how to remove a wheel was part of the process, thanks for watching
Why in the name of god would you need to take off the tire from the bike to plug a nail hole are we just supposed to work hard rather than working smart
"Time for a nap" cracked me up. Looked like a riot, I'd love to do a course like this.
Yeah thanks, search for 2021 BMW Masterclass, i've just posted it, and it's a great update, cheers, Steve
@@StevesBikes01 Huh, that's quite fortuitous timing for me to be looking at these sorts of videos. I shall check it out! Cheers
Fantastic footage thoroughly enjoyed!!!!!
Thank you, i'm doing it again early November to get on top of rivers and sand. Check for a new video middle of November, cheers

Hi Steve. What kind of bracket you have on your bike to hold the auxiliary light?
G'day it is the factory fitted aux light, so straight out of the shop. cheers
Thank you Steve
Very good video, thanks for sharing. London UK
31:18 WOAH! i've seen this for the rear but that seems crazy to do with the front because the disc brakes are taking the brunt of it.

Hi Steve, what would you recommend tyres wise for these sort of tracks.

Anakee wild and TKC 70 also v good.

Nicely put together Steve. I didn’t realise that you had done so much filming. Hope you are feeling better
I Just join the GS club every one is over 40 years old very fitting for us guys
Welcome, I bought my first off road bike at 65!
having fun yet
Do they use their own bikes? A 250 cc would beat all of those bikes by a country mile
yeah, its bring your own BMW most riders have 1200's. cheers

A masterclass is a class which is LED by 'masters' - not FOR masters of the art! The demo runs by the staff looked pretty masterly to me.
