Important detail about The Battalion's show - much like how Seattle has a long title, its a subtitle [Sky Above: Home was always waiting for you] For Battalion their repertoire is explained by the subtitle - Dead Reckoning: The Folly of the Spanish Armada. Thus the thematic costumes, the props resembling ship masts, etc. And then the massive battle (last movement with fire flags) and the mass death . Big joke is that Battalion told Phantom "Hold Our Beer", and proceeded to kill ALL FOUR Drum majors and the rest of the corps for good measure LOL.
If Troopers actually had an idea what they were doing with the guard & not change staff several times since November, it would be helpful. It always seems that guard has been their weakness since they returned from reorganizing.
In July (just last month!), I saw the Troopers, Cascades and Columbians performance. In my old high school stadium, no less. I've always had a soft spot for the Troopers and hope that they do well! Cascades and Columbians were from my era and I wish them the best! Blue Coats will take it!
I'm shocked by Columbians. I had them over Battalion. Happy that Surf/Cascades got into semis. I will say though I've never seen funk music SO stiff and lifeless with Jersey Surf. Those kinds need a lesson in having that aura of cool when playing music like that. I also though 7th was arguably better than Colt Cadets but that's why I am not a judge. I am happily surprised by Madison. I didn't think they were going to do it but I think they are very comfortable where they are at and wont have to worry about PC/BK. I was really hoping Troopers would take out Cavies but again, the Cavies are ahead. It's the VISUAL again that does it for them. Especially CG! I don't know how you do a whole sale change in guard instruction staff during the offseason, at what point is it the talent pool? Disappointed with Spirit of Atlanta's percussion score. 20th when they were 12th a week ago. A major adjustment when compared to the entire field at one contest site. I was watching and felt that opening battery movement wasn't 100% and that set the tone.
after all these years Vanguard finally has a show I do not like. talk about repetition that insipid melody. I am disappointed Columbians didn't make it over surf? should be the other way around.
No disrespect to the Scouts, but PC has more demand in their show. That 1.713 total increase compared to Scouts 0.175 means Madison has a fight on it's hands,. It may be wishful thinking but I think PC takes the last finals spot.
Naw scouts have the better show design and GE and are way cleaner visually. Brass and music wise PC is in 16th place. Scouts are sometimes. PC has more glaring issues in the music captions the scouts do. And a nice point gap going into semi finals. Scouts will keep that finals spot.

Also demand doesn't = better.. 2014 crown case and point. Scouts are cleaner than PC its that simple
