British WW2 Reenactment - Battle of Baakhoven 1944 / Echt - Susteren
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 9 ก.พ. 2020
- Hello my good friends!
Here i am again with a new video, a reenactment!
I know a lot of you really like these reenactment videos, and i've had this question before ( Can you do British? )
Well.. guess what.. here's a British reenactment video!
i usually reenact German and U.S., so this was the first time British for me!
It was exactly 75 years ago since this part of the Netherlands ( Echt - Susteren - ) was liberated.
We were reenacting the Battle of Baakhoven, and a lot of people gathered to witness it!
Also something unexpected happened just before the reenactment.. you just never know what you're gonna experience on days like these!
I'm also gonna pick up my Double Decal SS helmet tomorrow, i can't wait!
Anyways, i really hope you enjoy this video!! :)

Reenactments are always fun to watch
That's good news!
Are agree with you and I want to be one
yea same here
Just Some Guy without a Mustache hello ive seen you everywhere
I love when it is about ww2
“We shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air. We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing-grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills. We shall never surrender!”
SO Winston Churchill👌😅
I respect you becaus you (stole not trying to be mean ) from a film
@@thebestfriends8664 - Quoting a very important and historical speech by Winston Churchill is not stealing anything from a film.
Hear! Hear! 😎
@@thebestfriends8664 Yeah, he stole that from 'literally every quote winston churchill said'. Disliked his comment. What a thief.
I can’t believe I missed out on seeing you, I was with the Second Armored Division, but I was not apart of the Battle, but I was at the medical tent. I had to fly back to the United States, Maybe next time. Anyway, great video, I couldn’t record at all. At least I got to see the other side of the field from your view. Keep up the good work
Oh wow haha, yeah maybe next time! :)
Thanks for watching!

I imagine there will be a lot of reenactments this since this is the 75th anniversary of the end of the war. I wanted to try to get over there this spring, but it looks like my plans have been put on hold for now. Thanks for sharing this one, the next best thing to being there in person.
Amazing, finally not american reenactment. I love it
I'm glad you like it!
History Secrets can you make money, or even have a job as a reanactor? I really like your videos and im saving money to buy a full gear with a Mauser K98 K(it will be a replica because we can’t have weapons in hungary, and if its deactivated it would be hard to get it since im 13😭).
@@simonzalan2608 im 13 as well. Here in Czechia ww2 german stuff is forbidden. I have deactivated MP40 and SS Horst Wessel uniform (also replica) .

Yup
I’m German😐
I'm British
Imagine you’re a firefighter on your way to put out a fire, and near the scene you see a bunch of British soldiers on the side of the road with rifles and Bren guns
The reenactment no one asked for but the reenactment we needed.
It's allways funny to ear you speak with british accent. Keep the good work, mate!
Haha, thank you! :)
I must say that this is an awesome way to keep the history alive and remembered. You got a subscriber.

Hey nick loved the video and Sara’s poem was great. Congratulations on getting your ss helmet can’t wait for that video
Thanks for the nice comment! :)
the editing is cheesy but that adds to the atmosphere because at the end of the day its just a bunch of people having fun and doing their hobbies no matter how unusual it is. wholesome!
You can tell a lot of love went into it though
You should get yourself a deactivated sten gun! I have a 1942 SMLE MK3*, a 1943 Webley MK4 revolver and a 1944 Sten MKV. Love that you’ve done British stuff.
I remember my grandpa use to pull out his phone to check the time
*Pulls out rotary phone* This is how we used to keep track of time!
Yeah my great grandpa as a German soldier back in 1944 always used to PULL OUT HIS PHONE during battles....always
Yessssss, love when you upload!!!! 😁😁😁😁
Also, I’m wondering what you shoot, I’m pretty sure it’s like airsoft, but not 100% sure.
I'm pretty sure they fire blanks
We are using blank rounds!
It would be cool, if they could use Simunitions. Which is basically a live round...that fires a paintball. So, it stings like a mother when you get hit...but unfortunately, they are not available to the public..but take my word for it, when you get hit...you KNOW you're hit.
GodOfWar221 I don’t think they would do that due to the lack of face protection
Stereotypical Canadian Eh their actually blank rounds ( no bullets in shell casings )
I love re-enactments and it takes it to a whole new level when your in them too!
I'm glad you like it!
@@History-Secrets while you were re-enacting i was celebrating my birthday (my birthday is on the 18th of january)

Great video as always. I'd love to participate in one of these some day as a Canadian soldier--who were kitted very similarly to British soldiers in many regards. Cheers
Thanks!
Yes, Canadian is almost the same, haha! :D
It's good to hear my brothers in re-enacting are doing well overseas, greetings from the 26th red inf. Unit.
Absolutely stunning, great job man, I don’t care if your not the most popular you tuber, your still my favorite keep up the fantastic videos, you’ve inspired me!
I love the humor in this video! As an outdoorsman i very much understand the plight of going to the bathroom with all of your gear on! I recently figured out that you're not an American and i find it soooo strange, your accent is nearly spot on USA.
🇬🇧 GOD SAVE THE QUEEN 🇬🇧
Yesssssssssrirrrrr
Britain forever!
King now 😢
God bless her
This aged poorly 😢
When American army music plays in the background as English soldiers 😂, awesome video man!
The music only played when he zoomed in on American soldiers. You can't tell the difference between a British soldier and a U.S. soldier?
Dizzynoodles the intro, I’m more than aware of the difference but that’s isn’t what i was saying
@@tank4024 Okay no worries
It's "The Army Goes Rolling Along", dedicated Nov 11 1956, US Army Song, its ironically the Armys 245th Bday today.
Bruh- I don’t get how people like you only get small likes- and small subs- you deserve more likes and subs! The things you do are amazing! Like this is history! and it’s very unlikely finding things in the forest or whatever you are.
And Salutations from the U.S.A, History Secrets !!! I would love to live over there when I get older and hang with you and your trench video buddies, but sadly I can't right now, because I'm 18 and still live with my parents. Lol.
Love your British accent 😂

I'm from suffolk in England and your british accent is actually really good compared to others I've heard
Funny thing my Scottish Accent comes out as Irish instead.
This is a very cool reenactment .Thank you for for all the facts about WW2. You are one of the best WW2 channels in my opinion. I Have a WW2 M1 helmet and it is an original one. I also have a WW2 or Vietnam era canteen. Im PRETTY sure it is original it also came with a Buckle. I am not sure what that is for if you @History Secrets can please inform me. :)
I have a 1942 water can for the Willys jeep a pair of 1944 and 1945 Mess tins 1943 E-Tool and carrier. WWII canteen from 1943 minus the cover and cup. and a Ammo carrier vest for carrying spare belts for the M1919 .30 Caliber MG. I only have a Vietnam era M1 helmet though I did come into possession of a Civil Defense helmet that started life out as a early war "Doughboy" type helmet made famous from the movie Wake Island
That is very cool items that you have "Micheal Mitchell" !I just uploaded a video that shows my WW2 history prized posetions if you want a (and if you can) please check it out!!! :)

Always reassuring to know in the heat of battle Mark is there with his medic kit ready to save the day. Like Godfrey in Dad’s Army. God bless him. Well done on the British accept btw.

Once upon a time, a British soldier named Nick went off to fight in the war. Sadly, by the time Nick got out of the portable toilet, it was 1945 and the war was over. The End.
Hahaha, i laughed so hard! XD
@@History-Secrets, I'm so glad I made you laugh!
Can I please share another story with you?- Just before I saw your reply I discovered the German word for sh*t, and then realized my seemingly very pure aunt has be yelling "Scheisse!" for yeeeears…. and I don't think anyone in my family knows what she's actually saying. I D I E D.

Grandpa: Germans!? Where?!
1:56 wow I just realized the day the re-enactment was on, it was my birthday
I am always amazed at how great your English is there is hardly any accent at all.
Thanks for the compliment!
History Secrets, my favorite videos that you make are the ones when you spend the night in the trench. The very first video of yours that I watched was your first trench video. Could you do another trench video with your two friends that you did the American Soldier trench video with and do the roleplay again too but make the video twice as long. So, people can enjoy it twice as much ?

Did you know the beret was made in France.
Hence the French name??
That was great! Loved the poem. I’m the Veterans from all wars can relate.
Thank you for watching!
As a brit i can confirm that you're British accent is pritty good.
YES BRITISH
Yeah!! :)
Heyy 1st!!
I love that if you put the some of the footage in black and white and play some old and fancy music it looks like authentic footage from World War 2
Them crazy Scottish pipers, I just started collecting some ww2 Canadian/British items and can't wait to use them when I go for reenacting.
Well at least they weren't playing drums.
You make the best youtube chanel, I always watch you
Good accent nick being a brit my self lol ..good job 👍
Another very good reenactment video and are you going to do World War II British Reenacting. And can you do videos on your impressions

that was awesome. Glad you enjoy doing this as well as I watching.
I love watching reenactments also do British soldiers in the trench plz!!😀
I always love Nick's vidoes
After 1917 was released, I think you should fo some ww1 British trench reinactments!
This is some good reenacting! Good work

Nice to see a british reinactment also your accent attempts are pretty good
Last transmission from the British forces at Arnhem: "Out of ammunition, God save the King."
I absolutely love your videos, they aren't just entertaining, they also educate me and others in an interesting way and I am so thankful that you share your passion with us! Love from Germany💕
Oh and I hope you don't mind me asking, but how old are you? Just wondering :-)
I love your reenactments, they are quite fun to watch
8:45 when the battle starts :D
Hey Nick, out of all the ones you have participated in, which reenactment was your favourite?
FairPlay to this fella commentating ect and trying all in English. Very well spoken ! Top man
Verry impressive to see you doing reenactment, thanks for sharing.
Also i have a question:
People told me that cooked linseedoil is not a verry good way to preserve helmets because after a year or so the helmets will start to rust and decay again and it will eventually fall apart in rust pieces. Is that true? because i just bought linseedoil greetings jelle
Thanks!
If you do it the right way, and keep an eye on it, it's okay! :)
@@History-Secrets thank you for youre reply

I am french and i love they british paratrooper your video is very very good
That was awesome and I'm British one day you will need to do British trench video
At 3:40 what cap badge is that as I believe I know what it is but not to sure
Your English accent, I love it 😂
for all i'm saying English accent because you have many different accents within Britain but from the way he is speaking he sounds like he is in England which makes up along with Wales and Scotland makes Britain, so i'm saying English accent because that' s just how it sounds to me and sounds like he's from maybe Birmingham could be somewhere else just sounds like it too me somewhere I'm from London so I speak with some say a posh accent as i''m from the north side, I didn't mean to make this long lol just wanted to say
Great video lads, spot on👍
I think its a reenactment that the 'Tommy' moustache or 'Private Walker' from 'Dads Army' suits you. @ 5:02 Not enough milk in that Tea, no Fish and Chips.....Ok there's a war on, rations ect. @12:23 No way, the Union Jack is flying upside down :0 LOL Enjoyed watching and thanks for sharing :)
You got a great enthusiastic personality.
Its really dedication when they actuelly shoot them, really good work.
This event looks like so much fun! I wish I could do this. Also History Secrets, I was shoveling snow the other night..and it got me thinking. Would you ever be willing to do an overnight trench video...but after a big snowfall? So it could be like a Battle Of The Bulge setting? Do you get a lot of snow where you live? Regardless, great video! On a side note, was the group you were re-enacting as..a British paratrooper regiment?
