Whenever you want more links for Faouzia, just tell me, you can imagine that after this I took a very deep dive into her catalogue because you don't meet an artist like this very often ... and I've discovered some amazing gems 😸. For example: So far, my favorite version of "This Mountain" was not one of Faouzia's own recordings, but the cover by Agseisa with Roommate Project, but now I found one live version of Faouzia (3 years ago at Abu Dhabi) which tops even Agseisa's version for me (vocally, but I still love Agseisa's version for the very special emotion she puts to it, and her raspy notes are just legendary...). Generally the whole set at Abu Dhabi (about 30 minutes) is major excellence, just her and a grand piano... But for me "Fur Elise" is the very best so far and very promising, she's still very young and even though she was a great singer 6 years ago already, her artistry and songwriting is seasoning like a good Bordeaux, she gets better and better and I can't wait for new songs and more stripped versions, and the good thing is, she said in an interview she always will put out an acoustic live parallel to the studio versions, because that is closest to how she felt the song when she wrote it, sitting at her piano... She's a really amazing pianist as well, in Abu Dhabi she starts singing and playing, only later a piano player comes in for the last songs, which are covers anyway, great covers of great songs I should add... but I won't say which songs...
