i'm gonna be hearing 'forge world thunderhawk' in my sleep for weeks looks beautiful! if i could, i'd buy an air brush and paint big things like this too
Classic T-hawk as well. I make a solemn promise that the first thing I do when I buy GW is to have a plastic Thunderhawk available to buy within a year.
I dont know how i missed this video. A Transporter! Nice! I never was able to buy one when they were available. I have the latest Thunderhawk, to built upn my retirement in one more year. My gift to myself. I dont care which model you build next, they'll both be great. 👍😎
stunning work. Wish I was in the hobby/could afford those battleplate scenery, I never knew they existed until this video, and they look absolutely stunning.
They really are awesome. Having larger 3d terrain just really makes a more cinematic gaming experience vs a gaming mat. The way the realm of battle tiles catch light is just so good.
Amazing builds and paint jobs! Really envious of your transporter, love that model! I am currently cleaning a second hand 2018 Thunderhawk, and dragonforge sent me your way 😁
I can make that when I complete the new hawk. I expect the new one will go together much easier. From a glance, there are obvious differences. Old hawk is slightly larger, much older kit. and has the T in the dorsal fin. The new hawk is a newer 3d design, will go together easier, smaller, straight dorsal fin, angled wings, and has a 1 piece canopy that is clear resin.
Loving the artist's lore that's going into these videos, i fine myself more and more interested and invested in every video. also, I would love to see the gunship painted next
Love the transporter, it's such a cool look! I think hearing your thoughts on comparing the building process for the new and old thunderhawk kits would be fantastic! There are a few reviews on youtube of the different kits but few cover both.
Transporter really is an awesome model. It went together pretty similar to the StormBird. The OG gunship required a little more work but this was a late production one and Forge World sorted out a lot of the issues that the early ones had. I had heard nightmares about the kit but mine was pretty easy. I expect the new thunderhawk to be similar to the stormbird. All of the kits that FW designed in 3D, all tend to go together a lot easier. Most of my recent Forge World stuff has all been really good. No mold slips, no flashing and barely any straightening.
Those look awesome!! I'd definitely like to convert a Thunderhawk Gunship into a looted Chinork Warcopta and hopefully get to building up my Ork army. Also one of my hobby wishlists is to get a Stompa or Battlewagon (or even both)
Thank you so much for sharing. This is fast becoming my favourite channel, and has inspired me to have another go at the Horus Heresy, and that VIII Legion army I have always wanted to collect. Keep up the great work!
I appreciate that. Nightlords are a ton of fun to build and paint. They probably have the most cross over with the more modern chaos space marines and the kit bash opportunity with the new CSM and HH marines is strong.
I’ve always wanted to get a Thunderhawk since I started marines years ago. The epitaph “flying land raider” always stuck with me. A glorious model, just a shame it’s FW resin quality. Were it not for that, I’d have gotten the glorious Stormbird years ago. I’ll settle for my stormeagles for now. One day, though. One day I’ll have a Thunderhawk or a Stormbird to ferry a company of my chapters worth of marines
The Quality isnt too bad on the big flyers. If you have already done a ForgeWorld Storm Eagle, you would 100% be able to tackle a new thunderhawk. The storm eagle is a cast of a hand designed hybrid kit that requires way more work to clean, straighten and fit than the new Thunderhawk and stormbird.
Thunderhawks are still, and always will be our hobby goal. As cool as the redesign is I miss the T shaped tail. Thankfully there's a free stl available that you can slap on there and make it match. Maybe one day...
I LOVE THE LUCIUS WARHOUND! what legio are you doing? I have a few painted mars pattern warhounds and an unpainted Lucius. Im thinking Legio Osedax for it.
It's such an awesome model. You did a great job on painting yours. Looking forward to the follow up videos. I don't mind which one you choose to paint. Thanks for sharing!
I actually have the same dragon forge base for my thunderhawk! I’ve put building it of for a year because I’m too scared to drill into it for the base, but maybe next year I’ll take the plunge
ive only seen that video where someone made a kill team table out of it - was more of a 40k thing. People seem to want to see me do it as Sons of Horus.
Love your fluffy content and well shot videos. Your painting videos are educational as well. Now, you just need to do a few Word Bearers. =) Keep up the great work.
you know those aeronautica imperial armor books with the shot as real combat footage? your intro perfectly captures that! edit: no this is actually leagues beyomd GW and FW capabilities!
great looking thunderhawks! do you know which legions you're going to dedicate these fliers to? for my own personal hobby pie-in-the-sky dream, i'd love to own a chaos titan of some kind for my slaanesh army. that probably won't happen for a long while though...
The two unbuilt flyers don't have a legion yet. Im sort of leaning on doing the Stormbird in Sons of Horus to use in the Siege of Cthonia series. These models have such presence on the table that it would be a shame not to have at least one.
The transporter is still primed dark green as I received it second hand the thunderhawk is in salamanders green and really needs some flames and transfers
Dragon Forge is great. I have like 20 of their bases throughout the collection. Love the added height / weight of the bases. Visually looks better and makes them better game pieces.
Storm bird. I hope to one day own a mastadon. Since i became a disabled vet i found horus heresy amd ive never left 30k. Ima great crusade /horus heresy player Hence i play inperial jeralds aka word bearers, war born aka ultra marines and my fav war hounds aka world eaters
Id love to do a mastadon sometime. still havent done one. I did some WE a few years back and did older War Hounds styled vehicles - a rhino and a malcador.
@@heresyera In Fulgrim, they use 5 ships, 4 thunderhawks and Fulgrim's custom ship. 4 of them get shot down. Fulgrim gets shot down or crashes pretty much every time he flies.
Well not warhammer related I have a bust of Kurt Russell from the thing and a Peter Cushing bust from Dracula hammer horror. And I’m scared to paint them cause I want to get them right. I do have smaller kits from black Sun miniatures I could practice on but also scared to mess them up as well
Not big in dimension but in quantity, set my goal in a full complete Ultramarine chapter for my 40K collection, having some HH tanks and dreads as my relics, for now I’m up to 2 full companies of models, almost all painted, plus some tanks and vehicles here and there
Thats awesome. I used to have a blood angels battle company and i always wanted to paint some marines from the reserve companies and get them in there. You absolutely need to get some relic HH tanks. You doing primaris too or just first born? Im not too up to date on the current company formations with primaris as a thing.
@@heresyera 90/95% Primaris, only firstborn stuff I’m getting are Centurions, whirlwinds, vindicators, hope to find some Hunter/stalker too, will probably use rhinos as transport for scouts, there are currently no precise numbers for any space marine chapter with now the Primaris, just Blood angels are updated, cause after the third tyrannic war they needed a big reinforcement
Actually paint a land raider. For some reason, vehicles intimidate me, and I wasn't too happy with the first one I did (an impulsor). But, we'll get there.
The little thunderhawk in the intro is a LI thunderhawk. Bought and built it just for the video. Was a fun little kit. Would love if they made a storm bird
Awesome Job. Thank you for the mention.
Thank you guys for making awesome bases. I did a lot of research and it was the only set up that I felt confident enough to mount these hawks on.
Bro is flexing not only that realm of battle tile, others in his glory shots of models.
You are the patron all play groups deserve
That is some top notch painting. A definite home run. Very professional.
The Thunderhawk is such an amazing vehicle. Maybe one day we'll get a plastic version for the HH. A Man can dream.
I would love a plastic thunderhawk. Would be so much easier to store and game with.
i'm gonna be hearing 'forge world thunderhawk' in my sleep for weeks

Im pretty motivated to get it done.
Those are nice bases.
Dragon Forge really does a great job on all their stuff.

Thank you. I still need to get my 2018 hawk done. Think the Sokar needs to be first though.

Oh man, you have the same Blood Angels Codex! Personally for me, that's what got me into Warhammer in general.
