I've only had my CRAVE for a couple of weeks, happily making basic sequences and playing it over MIDI as another synth. But now you have opened my eyes to its full potential. I had no idea. Lots of comments saying this is the best crave patch video ever and I have to agree. Love the crave. Value for money is awesome although I’ve sent mine back for repairs as there is noise/interference from filter cutoff. Apart from that it’s great.

Really great video! I'm playing electric bass and was just thinking about getting some device like the crave for having fun ... not just playing to a drum loop, but get some synth sounds as bass for jamming. I was just not sure if crave or other devices will be good ... but since this video, I fall in love with the crave. So I know the theory of synths - but your video just showed me the practical usage and how great these sounds can be. So for me - you are an magician of sounds on this device. Thanks for this video!!! GREAT! I just imagine to run the output also to tube (style) bass amps ... could be real fun ;-)

This kind of reminds of what the PCF ( "Pattern Controlled Filter") function achieved in the good old Propellerheads Rebirth. Interesting blurbs from the filter changing in a pattern that is in sync to the sequence playing! Something the old regular TB-303 (or the Behring TD-3) couldn't do!

Just watched this vid, loved it, you display uses for the crave that are 1.21 gigawatts beyond what I've done with mine. I left a comment asking about what drum machine you use with the Crave, and then clicked the Starsky Crave sequencer tutorial, but I hit the back button to give this vid a thumbs up, because I forgot! When this page reloaded there were 909 thumbs up... I was faced with a dilemma. I decided to break the perfect synchronicity and put you at 910. Less elegant, but maybe a drop more juice for the algo! 🤣
So first off this is a great tutorial and I've watched it a few times. I learn something new each time. I'm guessing you are triggering the sequence and the kick using Ableton at 120 bpm. My question though is how can I tempo sync Crave from Abletons' clock and run other tempo speeds? I can start/stop playback from Ableton but I can't tempo sync the Crave. I have tried midi clock and various setting in the Synthtribe app but none seems to work?

I was watching a video about the crave (comparing it to the Moog Mother) and he said notes can be linked/joined in the sequencer to make longer notes in the sequence. I will look at my history to see if I can find it.

I have a question: Have you noticed a sort of noise generating when the low pass filter is closing? my unit start to make this noise as you start closing the filter and cut the high frequencies and when is completely closed you can still hear the noise , especially if when playing low octaves- Thanks for your help and videos!

Привет, Алексей. На русском вряд ли есть. Но есть на английском хорошие. С передней панели можно быть сложновато по началу. Можно делать с помощью приложения, там все интуитивно. Любой синтезатор относительно универсален, edm - почему нет..? Можно как минимум басы и лиды делать, и конечно в эксперименты уходить

Cool video man. Keep it up! Do you have any ideas for sequencing Crave from Ableton live and recording into an audio channel? Personally I seem to encounter latency issues while doing this.
first of all you should set buffer size as low as possible. then Options (upper menu) -> Reduced latency when monitoring. then, don't use monitoring and recording on the same track. 1 track for monitoring, 2 for recording. final step, Ableton Live has lessons inside, find on in Audio Settings -> Driver Error Compensation and do everything suggested there
I guess it wasn't supposed to sound extraordinary. It has regular analog synthesis, but the sequencer and the patchbay make the synth much more interesting
@@AntonAnru yes.. I am not sure what I meant. But I have found it hard to get my hands on a synth I liked. I like the modal skulpt... I tried two behringer synths the neutron and pro 1 and felt they sounded bad like non musical, harsh, nasal... The crave sounds better than both. I want to try the k2 as it seems modelled after the korg which sounds really nice to my ears, iconic. Thanks though I didnt even realise you could do those things on the crave it really is rich in features even with limited osc and env
@@AntonAnru I guess that is it, I heard others have similar complaints about the neutron, nasal and harsh, and they cut the over drive and filter out of the signal chain with the patching. I just dont know why they had that over drive in there it really was nasty imo and even when fully off seems to be in the signal chain.. like the delay it bleeds into the circuit. Not sure about the behringer synths so far, seem hit and miss but behrigner always been a bit like that.. I have used their products for 20 years and loved many of them! :-)

You may find tutorials on how to sync logic with hardware synths via midi/usb. I don't use logic
