I love storms as well! Constant untracked pow, no people, feel invincible with the right equipment. Great advice for rocks and trees as reference points; once I was on an open empty slope and I got dizzy, thought I was standing still and I was in fact moving, scary....
Thanks for another great video! I got an idea for your future episode. What about refueling tips in the mountain? Being a big mountain rider. I suppose you got great tips to feed yourself to get you up to high peaks while keeping the strength for the way down. For Japanese. ramen noodles are great recreational meal. when we have luxury of carrying stove and have time and suitable weather for cooking. So along with practical tips. I wonder if have any french favorite for recreational meals to eat during the mountain trips.
Thanks - I would be happy to do this as an episode and will put it on the list. I LOVE the Ramen noodles in Japan, that is the best food for half way through a shred day. Fills you up but without making you slow. So good. XV
Oh yes! How can you not love it! I love snow - both underfoot and in the air! Riding in the forest is especially fun then - the atmosphere is amazing! Although I had to give up my line a few times while in the alpine because of the fog and ice-crust/hardpack snow in the couloir - choosing the safer option. Generally, I don't feel confident when I'm in steep terrain (40°/45°+) and there is ice-crust and these kinda like ice-snowman formations (I don't know what it's called in English) - I'm always afraid that the edge will pop out and I'll fall, so I ride very conservatively with a prepared iceaxe for self-arrest. Though I have no problems when snow conditions are good. Do you have any tips on this matter? And as always, kudos to you XV for sharing your knowledge with us!
@@XVDLR the PNW got pounded in April which was cool, got some really great late season turns both inbounds and out. Weird season but hey I’ll take it! :)
Yo Xav. T'as des tips ou faut just suck it up?
XV
i guess you mean the A-CAD Futurelight Jacket for men from TNF. He also wears the Brigandine Jacket from TNF. Just check out "Steep Series" from The North Face :)
Be careful with that blow dryers for hands and your goggles. The lens is easily getting a bit too hot and so quickly transforms into a useless but expensive piece of plastic junk. At least unless you're not really into wanting to have a messed up vision when you ride. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about...
I'm with you. I love a stormy day when the cable cars are empty and your tracks fill in between descents.
Oh yeah... happiness! Xv

Hey Michal,
You need to ride above your board which means less angle, upper body really well centered and not leaning forward. Hope that helps. XV
Awesome comme d'hab!
We haven’t gotten snow in WA since December and this video is making me so sad. Love the content though! I just miss snow
We had a pretty dry winter too generally ... fingers crossed for the good stuff next winter. Xv

Man, powder and trees riding without a helmet looks just so sad.
Agreed, should definitely have been riding with a helmet.
