So the funniest thing I've heard about the kuchisake onna was that if she approaches you and asks her questions, you just need to say you're busy or running late, and she'll leave you alone.
Something that i'm surprised it isn't mentioned in the analysis of the Tomino No Jigoku painting that makes it even more disturbing.. Notice the elongated neck ? It's not just for disturbment's sake. Look at how the woman's feet look. They are dangling. The implication is clear on suicidal ideation, and it's a very sad painting considering the background, I hope the artist is better now.
Actually, the truth is, it was the officer who was armed at the time of their deaths. But since Kuchisake Onna is an entity rather than a human, the officer's attempt to kill the woman fails miserably and died alongside Keiko, which explains the gunfire and the sudden cut in the background.
This isn’t about the album as a whole but I wish they released an edit of The Mind Electric that doesn’t have the reversed part at the start, like how Pink Floyd released an edit of Echoes that cuts it down from 23:33 to 16:31 Edit: Timestamps were unintentional :p
Fun little fact: Amongst her many, many media appearances, there was also a version of Kuchisake-onna in the series, Constantine (episode 5, to be exact) and it showed the "confuse the fuck outta her with questions" method in that, as that's how she was distracted long enough for Constantine and his allies to perform the spell needed to put her to rest.
forreal. I've seen so many channels do the VHS aesthetic and it looks so cheap (this one too, kinda) but the 4:3 really adds to the look, hope he continues doing it.
The red room curse on screen at 10:10 says "red sword" not "red room". Not sure if that was intentional. Also, the japanese sentence *ends* with the "do you like?" part, just because of how the language's grammar is and the verb is always at the end. So unless the voice is reading it out of order it's kind of confusing haha
Oh I like this. It feels like so much analog horror just shamelessly cribs from Local 58 and Mandela Catalogue. Basswood County is sort of trying to do something its own way, but so much of it is just copying off Mandela. Could've at least set it in a different state. Glad to see StylizedKitsune is at least showing us something different.

But a video on them in future would be nice to see btw these clips are taken from the Japanese horror film The Slit-Mouthed Woman (2007) by Kôji Shiraishi, in which he’s done 3 films on her to my knowledge, the last being Senritsu Kaiki File 01: Capture The Slit-Mouthed Woman (2012)

He'll trap you in a room and cut you up bit by bit, forcing you to eat yourself until you die. He'll then take your corpse and force your soul to go back to your body, as he turns you into a sentient ball of flesh, where he will then put you back in your house, in a shrine on your bed. The Moon Rabbit: A Rabbit that dances when the moon comes out.
