Pete I spend 10 hours a day in a telecom lab repairing fiber optic equipment and at the end of the day I can’t wait to get home to unwind with your latest video. This was one of the most uplifting videos I’ve seen in a while. Your wisdom is remarkable. Thanks so much for getting me back where I belong mentally.

Man Pete, you're such a credit to humanity. It's so nice that you've got such a well rounded approach to most everything, your job, the community at large, life in general, your seet wife Hilary, the people who buy from you, the planet and ecosystems, and your animals.

Well said Pete. Now if we could just figure out how to teach each new generation the joy of accomplishment. Seems to me lately we’ve become a society that wants to reward people whether or not they produce. I’d like to see that change.

A lot of this should be taught inside the home-family. Not everyone is the winner and there’s nothing wrong with being second. I always think about my ag teacher who had a mouse trap on his desk with a stuffed mouse caught in the trap stating being first isn’t always best. Just do your best and try to get better.

Pete - Your comments and challenge to folks is right on in my humble opinion. I spent 25 years as a police officer and at first glance one could ask what we produced....
I used to tell my guys we are "selling peace." What acts can we do to to bring peace to any given situation? and how can our presence at a call lead to peace verses chaos? Nothing was more satisfying than when we could leave a place with more peace then when we arrived by using the right words and acts. Thanks for your willingness to share positivity.

I was a holistic doctor for 29 years in Florida and I worked 100 hours a week inside just wishing to be outside I never saw the seasons I never got to enjoy any outdoor activities and all I could dream about was being outside. I got set up with the rat race and sold everything all my property that I had and I moved up to the Ozark Mountains and started a ranch. This was my first time ever seeing the seasons in my entire life I am going to be 54 years old! I spend all my days outside sun up to sun down with the animals the chickens ducks turkeys goats and cows! This is what life is really about producing producing food and enjoying our wonderful Earth! 😊 I love watching your videos every day if everybody understood what you understand what a beautiful world this would be!

Oh Pete, you are so insightful. It's one of the reasons I love watching you.
I spent years 25-55 raising our 4 kids with a couple of part-time jobs. Neither of my bosses during those years seemed to think that any type of encouragement through praise let alone a thank you, was a thing. I took a different part-time job when our 3rd went off to college. I started working in a artisan shop and the owner was very, very encouraging and seemed to know my worth and talents more than I. The first time someone bought one of my creations I was astonished that anyone would not only buy my work but pay that price for it. That 8 year "job" was so uplifting for me. After I retired at 62, I reintroduced my self to the art of sewing. By this time we had 7 grandkids and I enjoyed sewing for them. I thoroughly enjoy that they love and look forward to my creations. All 10 grandkids (and kids) like that my hobby is sewing and it makes this 68 year old lady feel needed and useful and loved.
I love your dad jokes too. They always make me chuckle.

Hi Peter. Talking about what we've made and accomplished made me think of my own life. I feel I was a good child... one out of nine. Cherished helping people while I was a Respiratory Therapist. Did some Hospice volunteering. Made a life with my husband and our two kids. I stayed home and raised our kids... I loved it. They were champions, our son has a degree in computer science and our daughter has a degree in mechanical engineering. How proud we are. They've given us 5 grandkids. What a treat they are!! I'm happy with my life and always looking forward to more exciting stuff. Be well.

It is also what makes growing old worth every moment.

7 years ago at age 64 I bought an old run down house to renovate along with my son and 2 grandsons. One day as the younger, 14 yr old grandson and I were demoing the kitchen. As he was standing on a stepladder ripping off the ceiling, he turned to me and said "this really makes me feel good." I asked "how"? "I don't know, I just feel good doing this. I can't explain it." There you have it..... a sense of worth &/or a sense of accomplishment doing something worthwhile.

Thanks Pete for another great video. love your philosophy on life . and as so many others it jives with mine. But there are so many values that I've seen go by the wayside. we have gone from a nation of providers. to a nation of receiving. We used to ship wheat, oats, oil, steel. cars paper products. wool etc. I remember all those things being produced here. I remember all the paper mills around my home town. the tannery where I worked as a youth. woolen mills. farms. they are all gone now. we get all those products from other nations. and we have taught our children to accept them rather than teach them how to be one of those providers. Respect, for each other. elders. manners. has gone astray. Oh there are still many out there that provide the above and what I've just mentioned but they are waning, we need to get back to the values and pride of a nation of providers, rather than a nation of seekers of other peoples efforts to make the world a better place. thanks For sharing ECF.
