We have to improve defensively a get better every week because we need to be prepared when we get into the post season if we plan on making noise in the playoffs. Let’s help our offense out so we can dominate on both sides of the field.
Several bad years in a row of substandard recruiting of cornerbacks has come home to roost. Same can be said of the safety position. Guidry won't throw his players under the bus so he needs to start shouldering most of the blame for poor defense. Right now ongoing improvement needs to come or the playoffs may not happen for UM.
It’s tough when Damari Brown is out and having to move Porter to slot which is not his position. Guidry has to be better scheming it up. And the safties been ass since acc play. I know we young with the depth at safety but im pretty sure it wouldn’t hurt to play Zay n Williams more.. no way they can be worse than what we seeing. And don’t get me started on Richard’s lol I see why vandy let him walk🤣
Definitely need to play Zaquan more you see Kirby playing KJ Bolden at Ga kid a stud just like that and He need to move Porter back and put OJ in that spot #29 and move #25 and play #15 Williams and you’ll be fine that’s more size and more speed

Reminds me of denofreo Defense. They holding d line well enough, can't get to the qb in the shotgun. Meanwhile we have Powell and a db covering a back out flat. 2 getting beat down the middle...again and Powell not there.

He has 2 problems 1 he blitz too much and 2 his best dbs are in the bench 🤦🏽♂️ #20 Zaquan Patterson a 5* need to play more because Harris #7 under performing #19 can’t tackle put OJ another 4* whose faster and bigger in more, #2 Porter is ok, #25 is too slow need to only be in on special teams and run packages because he can tackle he just super slow and play Markeith Williams #15 in his spot he change that young or not you’ll see the difference and his best corner is hurt #6 Damari Brown which is huge and the front 7 is solid especially the front 4 and #31/#32/#21 all those lbs can tackle if they clean up that secondary they can beat any team in the country

Get NFL consultants to help you figure this out.There is breakdown in communication at DBs and putting players in correct positions to be successful. We can run, we can tackle. Now put the Checker game together.. Get it done coach or someone else will.

How can you bash him, he has proven he can improve a defense from year 1. I think we realize how good our two safeties were last year and how they crashed the ball. He may need to blitz less and crowd the middle of the field let the defense line work. Tackling hasn't been horrible just having bad angles. I believe he can find what works for this defense but he needs to face some bad teams to experiment. I think right now he's going with what he knows cause of competition.
#25 not that bad broke up a play yes bad pass interference but he do get after it better than 19 for sure #7 like a chicken without no head completely lost Patterson me please
It wouldn’t be so bad if Miami was giving up a ton of points to good offenses but VT and Cal are ranked in the 80’s in total offense. That can not happen. Syracuse will be the best offense they face this year with a potent pass offense that is as good as Miamis, statistically. They have a few weeks to figure it out or game over. Vile defensive play over the last three weeks. Offense wins games, defense wins championships.
#19 should never see the field again. The D started getting stops after, they removed him from the field. Kid looks like a freshman in high-school. Absolutely terrible!
The one glaring thing I see apart from being out of position and bad tackling, and I’m no expert, is communication. I watched Georgia and Texas and their defenses are constantly communicating. LB’s and safeties and corners and safeties etc. Maybe ours is, but it’s hard to see that. I could be totally wrong.
Kiko seems slower than last year. He is not having a good season compared to last year. Guidry is not a good recruiter plus he is an average DC. Most of our coaches are great. Don’t know much about DB coach Jackson. Go Canes!
