Girl!! The video isn’t even over yet and I’m like YES, JESSICA!! Also, congrats on your degree!! 🧑🏻🎓📚 I know from experience that getting a bachelors degree is hard work! You go girl - keep it up! Get your Masters, YOU are going to MAKE A HUGE CHANGE IN THIS WORLD!!!
It’s been five years since I was released from prison. My PTSD is real as real gets. Every night I have night terror. I’m not mentally healthy and this started while in prison. Prison is mentally and emotionally abusive and damaging. Yes I deserved to do time but I didn’t deserve the abuse that occurred there day in and day out. The prisons need to change. They’re releasing people that are more damaged than when they walked in. It’s no wonder why most inmates are repeat offenders.

the entire justice system needs a complete overhaul...including removing people with mental health issues from prison and providing much better mental health treatment. Totally need to decriminalize all drugs.
“America .should be the example.” This might be the smartest statement I have heard in a long time. And as far as how huge the problem of selling rx drugs, I have gotten calls from people looking for antibiotics because they didn’t have insurance. Amoxicillin is cheap, but you have to see a doctor to get it so... I know you can’t get addicted to antibiotics but there are other health risks for not using them properly like MRSA. Obviously, the market for other drugs has a bigger market. Jessica, you have made so many valid points!
Most people in jails/prison need to be taught. About how to function in society from day one. We should be learning that shit in schools!!! Anyway, imma keep watching
Some kids in school don't want to be taught anything- I mean ANYTHING. You try to give them constructive advice and they still rebel-- I know- I taught for 5 years. Some kids hate teachers and administrators telling them anything. It's sad because teachers are trying to help when there are some parents who are not guiding them at home. Then there's the party culture that's in America. Clubbing, Block Party- you name it. Well- more often than not - alcohol is not enough or not for everyone- people want to try harder stuff and get hooked- if not an alcoholic aside. There you go- just one scenario that causes addiction. People then commit crimes to fuel their habit.
Its not that simple. Prisoners get so much clinical attention these days. Plenty of programs and support structures in place yet many of them still re offend.
This is such an important discussion to be having! I read a book for a civil rights course called “The New Jim Crow”. It discusses the war on drugs and how it intersects with race but it does explain a lot of the legislation and fear mongering that led up to the United States’ issue of mass incarceration today. Also, I recently learned that people who have drug charges aren’t able to apply for federal student loans or a lot of public welfare programs. So much is broken with this system and this country has a lot of work to do to make society better for everyone. Nobody is truly free unless everyone is.
Before the incentive to make enormous amounts of money by locking people up is removed, I don't believe things can fundamentally change. There should be no private prisons. Prison culture needs to change radically. Staff should be selected with psychological profiling designed from a humanitarian perspective, and paid a lot better.
‘Humanitarian perspective’ 🤮 these inmates want to be considered humans? I feel so sorry for their victims who gets disposed and live with trauma and spend time building their lives back and never getting back what they lost.
Jesssss!! Omg I’ve missed your face & your videos so much! 25 days ago I checked myself into a rehab 2 hours away from home from my kids and basically my life. It was the best thing I’ve ever done . This new person I am it’s incredible. I love the sober me I haven’t been the sober me in almost 6 years . So glad to be back I’m gonna go binge watch your videos love ya ! ❤️💜
This is such a powerful video. I'm 21 and my mother is an addict in recovery with bipolar disorder and anxiety disorder. She's 5 years sober and I tell her frequently how proud I am of her. How strong she is. She struggles with alcoholism too. She is not her mental illnesses though. She is beautiful and precious and my favorite person in this world. I adore my mom. It hurts my heart there's so many in the prison system that are just like her... that are getting degraded and taught to feel worthless. My mother never went to prison, but if she did... I know for a fact that she would come out totally changed. She's a highly emotional intelligent nurse with a heart full of sensitivity and compassion. Prison would definitely break her... and so many like her. The point here is that she is human. A beautiful one at that just as many others are. You included, Jessica. You deserved help. Not degradation. Not to be treated so ugly when you went into labor. You didn't need prison. You needed mental help and guidance. So many others deserve the same. From a young age, I've believed prison reform is needed. I wrote research essays on it in high school. I'm an HSP and this video brought me to tears. I've always believed addicts need proper means of rehab and immense emotional intelligence shown to them. I love your channel so much. I hope this video becomes one shown in schools or workplaces and even prisons. Prisons should have classes for their workers to implement positive change. Emotional intelligence. Make ignorance into intelligence. To treat drug addicts with care who are (most importantly treat them as human beings) struggling with mental illness would change the foundation of the prison system so profoundly. It breaks my heart that this gifted country is turning addicts into lost broken souls especially when they're already lost and broken entering the prison system. Drug addiction is a mental illness. I pray that this world will become more open minded to that fact. Regardless of who a person is or what they've done, they deserve to be respected and treated as a human. Drug addiction and other mental illnesses should be treated the same as those with physical illnesses. They are just as important and just as painful. Thank you for using TH-cam as a platform to tell your story, shed a light on the horrific wrongs in prisons, and to encourage other addicts struggling. You are so strong and worthy and beautiful. More people like you are needed. So many could learn so much just by watching your videos, so I pray your channel grows immensely this year and so on. I'm rooting for you! Thank you for being you ❤
This comment is PERFECTION! Every thought I had has been written beautifully by this person. And every single word is true, and even brought me to tears. Jess, you are a gift to us. Your past has already helped so many people, and will continue helping MANY MANY more to come! Your story is so inspiring. Your outlook is important, valid, and it matters. Keep up the amazing work, my friend. XOXO🖤🖤🖤
Hannah Abigail, and Lauren Kirkland. Hannah this comment was perfect I couldn’t have said it better myself. I am so proud of your mother for getting help and staying sober. And I’m proud of you for sticking with her and encouraging her. Lauren you said exactly what I was thinking when a read this comment. We love you Jess. And everyone have a lovely day.
I’m sobbing I love you Jessica. You inspire me everyday... the whole time your talking I’m like “yes, preach sister” you’re moving mountains girl. Keep doing what you’re doing, you’re doing amazing sweetie
My father is a retired deputy probation officer who worked 30+ years in the industry. He started with juveniles and then would transition to adults. Throughout his career he would switch between juveniles and adults. He did that because he truly wanted to help everyone he was assigned to. He could have easily lock many of them up again, but he chose to give them chances. He had a 3 strikes rule. So that left it up to them to get straight knowing that there was someone by their side making sure they stayed straight. There are bad PO’s out there and then there’s my dad. Truly one of a kind. Keep up the great work Jess. BTW, my dad’s name is Jesse. Kind of ironic.
Jess you are speaking so much truth here and the" War on drugs" is a damn joke. Fellow subscribers please do some research on what she is talking about because with knowledge comes power and we need to be aware. Portugal has made drugs legal and the results have shown a huge decrease in crime and incarceration. The bottom line here in the U.S. they are more concerned with money. I pray we can all do our part and make a change.
well of course there will be a notable decline in people getting put in prison for drug charges, if drug charges dont exist. That's an automatic effect of decriminalizing drugs. What about the drug users though? Are they being rehabilitated? Is drug use decreasing? What is being done for addicts to help them? While I 10000000% agree that drug addiction should never be punished with prison, and I agree with decriminalizing drugs, I also think there's more to it than just that. Prison is a major problem for addicts, but prison only adds to a very long list of other struggles that addicts typically face, which often include mental illness and poverty. Not throwing them in prison is great, but are they still on the street struggling with untreated mental illness, untreated addictions, and going hungry? Are they raising their kids in those environments, and creating generational cycles of these things? Environments like poverty which are linked to mental illness, substance abuse and addiction, domestic violence, criminality, kids who are more likely to be sick, as well as up to 5x more likely to be neglected and abused, kids who are more likely to have behavioral issues, kids who grow up into adults who have lower education levels and lower professional attainment and also have higher rates of medical issues like diabetes and heart disease, etc.
In Portugal if you are caught with more than a small amount of drugs you go to drug court which has a judge, therapist, and I think djctir. They then decide if you are selling or an addict. Usually they treat you as an addict and guy are offered free rehab.
Absolutely agree with this and wow very well spoken and ethically thought through. Coming from Australia, quite a lax country with drug laws & sentences; I agree we need to do more and do all we can to assist the addicted and teach them that they’re more than their addiction & their current life of danger and teach them the country thinks they’re more than that and that they deserve better than that too. Amen. Wow great video Jess, definitely a message that needs to be shared ❤️❤️❤️
Legalizing Marijuana would Significantly TAKE AWAY FROM BIG PHARMA REVINEW AND DECREASE THE AMOUNT OF PRESCRIBED DRUGS IN THE U.S. The Government isn't about to let that happen without a fight! I personally DO NOT use Marijuana or CBD but I work with and sale CBD and have seen first hand the benefits and healing qualities of this AMAZING PLANT. I'm in GA and Manage a Vape Shop **Turned Smoke Shop** We offer several Forms and Strains of CBD anything from CBD dried herb, CBD oil, CBD capsules, CBD eatables, CBD lotion/creams/massage oils and even CBD for animals! My own Mother has been able to stop taking prescription pain meds, prescription sleeping meds and cut in half the amount of prescription blood pressure medication with the use of CBD products! I had to TRICK MY MOM in to even trying the GOD GIVEN MEDICINAL PLANT THAT GROWS FROM THE EARTH and isn't made in a lab! CBD/Marijuana because the government has demonized any kind of natural treatment that would cut REVINEW to the PHARMACEUTICAL WORLD DRASTICALLY!
I couldn't agree more with what Jess is saying, this video definitely hit different. I mean just imagine if we got lucky enough to have Jessica as our president one day!! This woman is on to big things she is super intelligent and it makes me so happy as she shares her wisdom with all of us.
This work that you are doing with this channel is beyond important! You truly are making something of your experiences. You are not just a "victim" of drug addiction and criminal life. You kicked addiction's ass and are willing to help others. It is a difficult thing to change your surroundings, but doing nothing equals surrendering. You are being vocal about the things that matter to you and I am sure that your words will make a difference in how prisoners and the prison system are viewed in the society. The more ex inmates are coming out with their thoughts and experiences the bigger the impact! Keep it up!
So proud of you! Not only for staying out, clean and sober but also getting your degree to help others who are in similar situations as you use to be in which you'll be able to help and relate to so much! You go girl!
This is one of your absolute best videos. You had me clapping & saying “Amen” out loud. I pray prison reform starts to happen very soon. This is SO serious & important to everyone in and out of prison.
This broke me to tears. You are helping so much people just with your words alone. God bless you and please bring a part 2. Just being in recovery this is so relatable 😩❤️🙏🏼
So omg dude that is the realest words ever said I did 5 years in arizona and only been out a few months and so it's still fresh and ur words speak to my soul ur such and amazing person and I'm glad u continue to spread the word and do what u can for those that dont have a voice... thank you
This is such an important topic that doesn't get nearly as much attention as it needs! Thank you for using your platform to discuss it ♥️ I agree with EVERYTHING you said. They do so little to prepare inmates for a successful re-entry into society. It's literally the bare minimum to make it seem like they are doing something, but in reality, if you know anyone who has been in jail or prison, you know it's nothing compared to what they need. Especially when we are talking about addicts, who need to get better treatment and learn the basics of just coping with daily stress better without turning to substances, rather than loving them to so it's just harder to get the substances (not to be confused with impossible to get - drugs in jail and prison are a whole separate issue). I would love to see more videos on this, maybe even a series where you share subscribers experiences and thoughts, to raise awareness if nothing else, because like you said, we are a long ways from seeing any big changes unfortunately.
This video made an impact on me Ms. Jess. I don't have a lot of knowledge on this subject. But I trust you, and your opinion. Thank you for being you. And opening my eyes to things I don't know about. Well it's first period now. Whoot 😆 Have a good day.
I agree 1000% with everything you said. This is why I'm going to school, so I can make changes and help fight addiction from the inside. Also, every time I drop my boyfriend off at work in the mornings I tell him to "stay safe, stay sober, don't break the law, make good choices, and be kind!"
You posted while I was driving therefore I am late to the party!! This topic is something very dear to my heart because I took a Correctional Institutions class as well as one on Mass Incarceration. Prisons should 100% BE REFORMED. Just because someone is an offender DOES NOT mean they’re an animal. If you treat a person like an animal, they’re going to act like one. BTW IT’S MY BIRTHDAY TODAY!! The big 19!! Gonna stay safe and stay sober!! Love you Jess!!
I love how you are so subtlety intelligent and speak so eloquently. You are obviously well versed in the topic and have amazing ideas. We should all come up with a way to get things rolling! There are 217,000 of us. There has to be something we can do! Even if it is small.
There are MILLIONS of people who have spent long amounts of time incarcerated. Many of those people live in States where they can vote after prison and participate in the political process. We do need to organize and tell the public about what goes on. If they it was common knowledge then things can change. We could be larger than any Political Pac or Lobbying Group if we were ORGANIZED. It would not only be us but our friends and families that are effected by this POLICE STATE we live in.
“We ain’t arrest our way out of our drug problems!” SO MUCH YES! I’m a recovering addict who’s engaged to a sheriff deputy, I was in active addiction during the first TWO YEARS of our relationship and it took that long for him to realize that addicts are NOT bad people just because they are addicted. He said they are basically taught that if someone does drugs, they are automatically terrible. I’m so glad that my struggles at least has a positive because I’ve been able to change at least one persons mind (especially him being an “important person “ to have their mind changed lol because now he isn’t NEAR as strict on arresting people who just has an addiction and I’m SO thankful for that! ❤️
Great video. If you want a released prisoner in your society, you have to make sure that this prisoner was integrated into our society as much as possible from the first day he/she entered the jail or prison. You have to give them opportunities to keep in touch with their families. You have to give them opportunities to have direct contact with their families. You have to at least try to have a social worker keeping the family and friends involved with the prisoner. Otherwise, it is like starving a lion half to death and then releasing it on Main Street.
Just went into a prison today to visit my best friend. He’s been in for six months for some missed court dates, theft and violation of probation. He was deep into heroin addiction. He doesn’t need more jail time. He needs rehab.
I am so proud of you and how far you've come. Whenever I think I'm not 'good' enough to achieve my goals, I look at how far you've come and how much you've achieved even with your past🧡🧡🧡You're so inspiring so don't listen to the hate because you're helping so many people🧡
I think this is your single best video to date! Throughout the whole video I was just like yes girl! Yes girl! PREACH. So glad you made this video it needed to be said and heard.
YES! keep speaking up and out please, you have such a strong beautiful intelligent voice and are using it to speak about some of the main issues of the human experience in this country. Thank you so much and please don’t stop.
I gave a similar challenge to my peers in my Psychotherapy class to imagine being in Solitary last semester. I’m now working on a legislative presentation to the Scottish Parliament for Prison reform re treatment throughout time served. Great video I’ve been anticipating this one. You make good points I hadn’t considered about decriminalisation of drugs resulting in extra funding
I want to give you a standing ovation for this video. I wholeheartedly agree that prison reform is necessary and addicts are still people who need help. I am so proud of you for overcoming all you have been through and rising from your ashes as well.
Well spoken. Thank you for voicing your opinions. This is an important topic that needs to be discussed. Prison reform could change all of our lives for the better not just prisoners. This video needs to go viral. Awareness is key
Jess I love the fact that your so strong enough to talk about your experiences still keep in contact with people in prison that you care about and would make your life’s work to make what happens behind those doors comes to light
Your passion is inspiring and will take you where you want to be! I’m a therapist in community mental health, rural area, say no more. You are right on point with your ideas 💡 PS love your videos keep doing them!
You inspire me!!! 8 weeks till you graduate, I am so happy for you. I can't wait untill I'm done with my BSW. Good job Mama! I want to work with addicts too and you keep me going sometimes because it seems like my past will always hAunt me. Thank you for the inspiration!
I will never understand why videos of what people eat get more views than videos that actually are here to inform, educate, change something... Go Jessica!
I love watching all of your videos and informing people in my life about the system. They act like I’ve been to prison or something, but it’s good to correct those who are clueless
Girl! I am so glad you are going into this field to help people. The system needs people like you, and you are going to do great things, I can feel it.
I don't think that I have EVER agreed with anyone more in my life. Thank you for the truth. I love your program. You are so right. Peace, health, love.
It just makes so much sense that it's amazing how anyone can see it differently. You explained it perfectly. Congrats on being 8 weeks away from a Bachelor's Degree, btw. That is an amazing accomplishment.
Great speech, so true. A former colleague of mine was teaching design (? I think it was web design-related not sure..) classes to inmates, which I thought was so cool. It just makes more sense to try to teach them a skill. Also one of our clients was a company started by a former inmate for the sake of employing other former inmates, which was really awesome. USA needs more initiatives like that. (without shade, TBH I don't really know how the situation is in EU or elsewhere at all..) And I really like the added lights to the background!
Standing ovation! I hope with your degree you are able to do big things, congratulations!!! There are other countries that have done so much better with their prison systems, its amazing that we haven't even considered adapting even ONE thing from them....
You’re going to awesome going back in to work there but I’m sure you already know that! I love your message and what you stand for. Inspirational is an understatement.
Yes to a part 2! I agree with everything you said in this video! The system is so very flawed! I hope you have changed the mind of at least one person who watched this! Love you Jess!
Totally agree with everything you say. I have been an on and off alcoholic for 6 years (with bipolar n BPD). Up till now I've been "lucky" with not being involved with law. I just wanted to say I've been watching your vids for a while, on monday I was arrested for the first time and taken to a cell for 48hrs (for crashing my car whilst drunk), it was the most terrifying experience of my life so I just wanna say jess to have been in and out of prison as you have, you are so strong I could not do it! I'm lucky I've been charged and banned from driving but no prison sentence. This has been my kick up the ass! I've finally reached out to a drug and alcohol charity I'm 5 days sober. Wish me luck 🤞 much love to you and all the other viewers x
I private messaged you about this video! This really resonated with me and I fully stand by all of your points as a future public health educator. I hope to see the war on drugs end in years to come!
Hi Jessica new subscriber here... I've just discovered you and I think you are bloody BRILLIANT!!! I am also in recovery, over 10 years... I have been involved with The National Treatment Agency trying to work out how we can make it better... I was really angry with the way things were... I started a weekly drop in... We helped people with things like housing or services messing around with people's prescriptions... Also we'd point them in the right direction for treatment or counselling... I find it so refreshing that there ARE people, out there, who genuinely care about society's more vulnerable people... You feel like you are bashing your head against a brick wall at times... However keep doing what you are doing and things will start to happen Im going to have a proper bing session watching all of your videos Big hugz from the UK 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧
Was waiting for this video. Thanks so much. Great topic. And the whole time I was thinking about the love of my life who died almost 3 years ago.. overdose and in and out of prison and jail.. he was a good guy... The was. Wish he had gotten the help he needed .. Xoxo
I was taking notes throughout the whole video! thank you for telling the truth and educating people with the help of your platform! you are awesome, Jess! (also we a need a part 2!)
You are literally so intelligent and wiser than half of the population! #Jessicaforpresident keep doing your thing girl and educating the misinformed! Love you so much! ❤️❤️❤️
Good morning Jess! We definitely need prison reform. I have a nephew who is in and out. I do not agree with just throwing people back into the community. People who do not need to be in prison are sent there every day. An article came out yesterday about the mental health in my county being the worst, and the jail is having to deal with the mentally ill because they have nowhere else to go.
Part 2 please!! This video is wonderful and needs to be seen! I hope we can make it trending. I wish I could add something to this but this is so well said! Thank you for sharing Jess! Xoxo
This was a fantastic video, I'd love for a part two. So happy that you have a platform to speak on these important issues. The background is also amazing!
I appreciate you sharing you experiences about prison life, I have a lot of family members who have spent time in prison but they never talk about their experiences, thank you.
I am so excited for this video!! I agree with you 1000%! It makes no sense the way the system is now. Things would be better for a lot of people and society in general if we actually tried to help the people that needed help! Love you!
Thank you for this, I went from being a CO in prison to becoming a license therapist for the CDC. People need intervention not isolation and condemnation. Please keep sharing your truth.
Wow, you are so right. I agree totally. My son has learned to be a criminal while in prison. I wish it would have been mandatory rehab treatment instead of jail. He wouldn't be in the situation he's in at 40 yrs old. I hope you can get this message out. You seem so strong, you can do it. (One way is to go on Shaun A. utube channel and spread this message). I enjoyed your chat on his channel. Good luck
Yes gurl, we may not see change happen over night but we can change ourselves and how we treat each other it has to start somewhere and if we build each other up instead of tearing each other down its a start! Love ya, ride or die!
Jessica, you are SO RIGHT with everything you say in this video. I believe that you are the person that could effectively bring about the change you speak of. I’m having this fantasy right now - you take this speech “on the road” traveling the country and speaking out publicly on this issue. There would be masses of people surrounding and supporting you everywhere you go, and the news crews would be there, you would be the highlight of the evening news every night and EVERYONE would know who Jessica Kent is! And everyone could relate (because I think that everyone has a drug addict in the family, whether they admit it, or are aware of it, or not) so they would rally for change right alongside you. Then you go to lawmakers and get shit done!! Jessica, Please keep spreading this information whether TH-cam likes it or not. Your insight, experience, and knowledge make you a powerful force to effectuate change. You’re awesome! ❤️😁
SO well said! I definitely agree with decriminalizing non-violent drug offenses, but I feel like it will take forever for the government to actually make that change. Thank you for shedding light on this issue and giving your unique perspective 💓
This video may not have an immediate impact on society as a whole but it could change some people's point of view (esp when coupled with your videos about your own experiences in jail/prison). I mean I was already all about rehabilitation but going around your channel made me realize how bad the situation actually is, and how much this matters to all the members of our society. I'd just like to thank you for all the hard work you're putting on this channel (and congrats for your bachelor!)
This is a great video. Prison reform should employ people who have done time and walked the walk. I hope this video gets to the right ears who are in a position of power to benefit from the common sense message of it. I hope you do more videos like this Jessica. Well done !!!!
Let me know if you want a part 2. There is so much more I could say! Have a great day guys! 🖤
Definitely please
Definitely part 2!
Of course!!
💜💜💜💜💜💜
Is this even a question... we want it all lol.
You’d be a great public speaker, Jessica. Maybe one day you’ll do a TED talk or something. (: Love your videos!
A TED talk sounds a good idea!
Rianne I was thinking about her giving a TED talk maybe it’ll resonate with even more people! I hope this happens
I can't wait for this to happen.
TED hell yes.
Agree! The more light you can shed on this the better!
This video NEEDS to go viral!!!!! So well done, Jess. Everyone please share this. Its so important.
share SHARE 👍🙏👍

But the thing is, the prisons don't want you to not come back in prison. They get their money the more inside.
a permanent class of incarcerated, can't vote, can't get a job just up and down thru 'justice'.

Tell your mom I said congrats on so much time sober. 💓💓 she's a superwomen
I’m sobbing I love you Jessica. You inspire me everyday... the whole time your talking I’m like “yes, preach sister” you’re moving mountains girl. Keep doing what you’re doing, you’re doing amazing sweetie
I love what she says, its everything I say...she knows the truth
I get damn near tears as well
My father is a retired deputy probation officer who worked 30+ years in the industry.
@@nikki1932 I agree with you, I was just commenting on prison reform.
In Portugal if you are caught with more than a small amount of drugs you go to drug court which has a judge, therapist, and I think djctir. They then decide if you are selling or an addict. Usually they treat you as an addict and guy are offered free rehab.
🙏🙏🙏 so proud to call you my sister
New background is great, especially the lights! If you haven't watched the documentary "the 13th" then you really should.
Zara Seastrunk it was such an eye opener!
The 13th is the name of the documentary? Is it on youtube, i would love to check it out.
Andrew Grace no it’s on Netflix
Andrew Grace no it’s on Netflix
@@andrewg3856 it's on Netflix, but you might be able to find the full movie on TH-cam if you search for "The 13th documentary".
So agree! A great start would be Federally legalizing Marijuana. That would start a process for change.
So omg dude that is the realest words ever said I did 5 years in arizona and only been out a few months and so it's still fresh and ur words speak to my soul ur such and amazing person and I'm glad u continue to spread the word and do what u can for those that dont have a voice... thank you
Jessica I can’t believe how bright you are this was really awesome and you’re well well spoken. I agree with you 100%
Girl come through!!!! You are the best creator - giving us what we want 2 days after we ask for it!
Whoot 😆
Have a good day.
Otherwise, it is like starving a lion half to death and then releasing it on Main Street.
holy jess i’m not even half way through n i’m almost crying. you speak actual advice
Love the new backround!! And of course a part 2! You are so educational!!!
I love listening to you speak about this subject. You're so informed and passionate!
I’m so happy that you made a video about this. You’re such a big inspiration!! Lots of love from Portugal 🇵🇹 ❤️
Portugal!!! Absolutely love your drug policy. Its saving lives 💙
Jessica Kent would this work in a big country like the US? I’m on the fence about this policy implemented here
I am so proud of you Jess. You have opened my eyes 👀 and you’re so well spoken. Message received.
Jessica, you have just knocked the ball out of the park! You are so on point! So much to say on this issue.
I’d love a part two!!!! You’re absolutely incredible. I wish I could like this video a million times ❤️
LOVE THE BACKGROUND!!! 😍😍😍 you NEED to be a public speaker!!! I can’t wait to see you speaking to the president one day!
I will never understand why videos of what people eat get more views than videos that actually are here to inform, educate, change something... Go Jessica!
I honestly think this is your BEST video to date!!!! You make so many valid points!!
I love watching all of your videos and informing people in my life about the system. They act like I’ve been to prison or something, but it’s good to correct those who are clueless
Girl! I am so glad you are going into this field to help people. The system needs people like you, and you are going to do great things, I can feel it.
L💚V🍀 your background 👌👌👌TIP.... a nice GRAFITI on the brick wall. Love your channel 😜🤩
4:15 in and I’m already saying amen 5900 times ❤️ love u girl! Thanks gonna get to back your video ❤️❤️❤️❤️💜💜💜💜
(without shade, TBH I don't really know how the situation is in EU or elsewhere at all..)
And I really like the added lights to the background!
It’s so incredible how far you’ve come. This was very intelligently said Jess, and I could t agree more. 👏🏼
Standing ovation! I hope with your degree you are able to do big things, congratulations!!! There are other countries that have done so much better with their prison systems, its amazing that we haven't even considered adapting even ONE thing from them....
I 100% agree with you!! I love how you stand up for what you believe in, you’re such an inspiration really.
You are AWESOME ! I’m such a big fan of you. You are an amazing role model and inspiration, truly !!!
However keep doing what you are doing and things will start to happen
Im going to have a proper bing session watching all of your videos
Big hugz from the UK 🇬🇧 🇬🇧 🇬🇧
Was waiting for this video. Thanks so much. Great topic. And the whole time I was thinking about the love of my life who died almost 3 years ago.. overdose and in and out of prison and jail.. he was a good guy... The was. Wish he had gotten the help he needed .. Xoxo
I was taking notes throughout the whole video! thank you for telling the truth and educating people with the help of your platform! you are awesome, Jess!
(also we a need a part 2!)
You keep climbing girl!! 218!! I know you'll get to a million!! Everything you say is true and real. #1 Fan
You are such a well-articulated, wise person and you're going to do so many amazing things for advocacy!
Cannot express how much love I have for this videoooo
I appreciate you sharing you experiences about prison life, I have a lot of family members who have spent time in prison but they never talk about their experiences, thank you.
Yesss get that degree girl! As someone else with a bachelors in psychology I’m so excited for you!
Preach it Jess. The heart of addiction is trauma Trauma wounding and neglect. We have to face up to how disconnected we are from each other.
Yes! So glad you uploaded this now so I can watch it while I get ready!!!
You have articulated this situation so well, Jess! Greater COMPASSION is needed to reform prisons! Please continue the fight! 💗🧡💛💚💙💜🖤
I am so excited for this video!! I agree with you 1000%! It makes no sense the way the system is now. Things would be better for a lot of people and society in general if we actually tried to help the people that needed help! Love you!
This is a great video. Loving the new background and lights. Thanks so much, Jessica.
LOVE THIS 🙏🏼 we are gonna save the world, a big part of that is prison reform! ❤️
Thank you for this, I went from being a CO in prison to becoming a license therapist for the CDC. People need intervention not isolation and condemnation. Please keep sharing your truth.
I am a former CO and talk a lot about these topics and the other side of this, on my channel, if you are interested.
Jessica Kent for president!! Thanks for the video
I love this video - you’re so inspirational to me and I am so happy that you’re using this platform to spread awareness about this.
Good luck
I just got an ad before your video advocating for prison reform, so keep it up!
I am a former CO and talk a lot about these topics and the other side of this, on my channel, if you are interested.
Great video, I didn't used to be a fan of prison reform, but you made some really great points that definitely gave me a lot to think about!
This is a great video. Prison reform should employ people who have done time and walked the walk. I hope this video gets to the right ears who are in a position of power to benefit from the common sense message of it. I hope you do more videos like this Jessica. Well done !!!!
Love!!! People gather round join hands and pray for prison reform.
