    Thanks for the breakdown. While I don't agree with your take on the late game 3rd and 3 go route to AJ, I understand more clearly now why they went for that particular play. You typically can't go wrong targeting AJ in single press coverage but a more conservative run play would've been much more judicious that late in the game and only up 5. They gave the ball back to Dallas with way too much time on the clock and should've lost the game but thankfully didn't.

      You new here? This is not a game analysis. It is a Jalen Hurts analysis. QB school. He may touch on play design but doesn't analyze coaching situation decisions.

    • @lenhalz8086
      @lenhalz8086 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yeah i was expecting us to start controlling the clock at that point. A run on 3rd and 3 and then a Brotherly shove on 4th down if we were close enough.

      @@DruGOATBOY28:34 Guess you didn't quite hear the part where he clearly stated "I love taking the shot down here to the bottom" just as he began breaking down the play? Am I new here? Um, no. I've been subbed to this channel with multiple accounts since he had around 10-12k subs but what does my time here have to do with the price of tea in China?
      And I know the name of the channel, I have eyes and I don't need a word for word retort of that either. I'm a 40 year old pigskin lifer with a fairly solid grasp of the game and I never said or presumed he was touching on coaching or situational decisions. What he certainly *did* do was share his opinion of whether or not he liked the play call and I disagree with him because I don't like it! Is that ok with you?
      Any other offbeat sideline notes or instructions on how I should or shouldn't respond next time?

    • @DruGOATBOY
      @DruGOATBOY ปีที่แล้ว

      @Bird_Watcher "Are you new here?" was rhetorical. It doesn't matter. JT always loves taking a shot down field. A lot of QBs like being aggressive. I am not saying your opinion was wrong. And you're definitely entitled to your opinion and to disagree. I disagree with you that he was commenting on the play with a holistical view. I mean, when do you ever hear him say, "They should run the ball here." No worries. I really don't care, just a different interpretation of JTs intent. Normally, I wouldn't comment, but I had time today.

    @tinkdnuos ปีที่แล้ว +9

    This is what Jalen Hurts looks like when he's seeing ghosts in the pocket and hobbling around on one leg. That's how good he is. I'm not saying he's the best or that he doesn't have flaws in his game, but this is much closer to his FLOOR than his ceiling.

    • @JaredHettler
      @JaredHettler ปีที่แล้ว

      I strongly disagree. I think what you saw last year is what his true ceiling is. Efficient with the football in regards to turnovers, yards per attempt, etc. Above average accuracy and touch, above average arm, making the most of his situation with a godly team around him.

    • @tinkdnuos
      @tinkdnuos ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@JaredHettler you really think he hit his ceiling in his second year? Seems unlikely, if you pay any attention to the guy.
      Either way, what you said really doesn't conflict with what I said anyway. So I strongly disagree with your sense of reading comprehension.

    • @JaredHettler
      @JaredHettler ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tinkdnuos lol you made it out as if him playing at a high level is close to his floor because he's dealing with a calf injury. I said I disagree and that last year was a lot closer to his ceiling. I've watched Hurts for years. He still is the same guy he was in Oklahoma. Goes through his first 2 reads and then relies on his legs to extends plays. Almost never hits his 3rd read. Almost never looks off safeties. Forces ill advised throws and gets bailed out by elite level play from his team. I actually really like Hurts I just hate his fanboys. Diehard Sooners fan. Very grateful for what he did there. Love watching him play but can't stand the guys that overrate him. As soon as his legs take a step back he is average at best as a passer. This is close if not at his ceiling, these last 2 years. Manipulate his team situation even just a little and he is a completely different player

    • @tinkdnuos
      @tinkdnuos ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@JaredHettler so basically, you're the one guy alive who believes Jalen Hurts hasn't improved significantly since college? Weird, but do you.
      Oh, and it's actually a knee injury. But you've been paying close attention to him, right?

    • @JaredHettler
      @JaredHettler ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tinkdnuosyou're right, knee bruise. Misspoke. My bad.
      I didn't say he hasn't improved. I said he's the same guy. Plays the same way. Same problems. He's a phenomenal leader just like he was in college but he is more a product of his system than a product of his own skills. Just like in college.
      What I'm really saying in a nutshell is if the Eagles are in a position where they're down big and need him to throw back into it, they're in trouble. Any team is obviously but there are probably 12-13 other QBs I'd take as a pure passer over Hurts. In my opinion, he is not in the same category that Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, Herbert, Stroud, Kirk etc are. Those are PASSERS.
      To his credit, he is an incredible leader, is tough as nails, and makes the most of his environment. But he's not an elite tier NFL passer like his Eagles fan club that was ready to disown him after year 2 wants him to be. What I've noticed watching him since college is that his base is inconsistent which causes inconsistent deep balls (ever notice that sometimes he drops a 50 yard dime on the money and then other times it's 5 yards underthrown?), he doesn't go through progressions at a high level, doesn't look off defensive backs, misses a lot of reads (everyone does but him moreso than the other top guys), etc.

    Just realized the first play in this analysis (the slant to AJ) Hurts gets hit low right in the knees. I hate roughing the passer calls as much as anyone but I almost wonder if they were targeting his knees knowing he had that injury. If winning is all you care about it is worth risking a 15 yard penalty to hit hurts in his knees and bang him up more. As an eagles fan I hope the refs don’t allow this.

      Lol yeah Hurts is so clutch. Like when the 49ers held him to 121 yards 0 TD and 0 INT on 25 pass attempts despite the fact that they punted the Eagles the ball 4 times and turned it over a few more because a 4th stringer and a RB were playing QB. Or when he got benched for Tua in a national title game because he choked. He has a 2-2 playoff record with 4 touchdowns and 2 picks through the air on an 84.7 passer rating. Recency bias.
      I love Hurts as a diehard Sooners fan but he is not the passer Dak is. Give Dak the Eagles system and they're also in the super bowl.

      Insane take dude. Do you also disagree with Sirianni going for it on 4th down twice to seal the game against Miami? Most other coaches would be too scared to trust their kick ass offense

      I am pretty sure this channel is QB School. The focal point is Hurts not coaches. There are several channels that do actual game analysis.

      @@vincenzocusi903 insane take? Are you for real? Do you actually use logic when you speak or do you just let the play break down and word scramble??? You have 2 downs. It is 4 minutes and change left on the clock. You need 3 YARDS!!! THE BROTHERLY SHOVE ALMOST AVERAGES THAT!!!!!!

      It's the 4th quarter you do not waste a down in a critical moment in a critical game against a historically hated rival. You run the ball twice even if you don't have Marshawn Lynch hint hint..

    Always learn something when I catch your channel. Thanks. It is funny how people are mad about 3rd and 3. This is QB school not coach analysis. Sure they intertwine but not the subject. They must be new here.
