I've always loved working on wooden kits. Mine have been aircraft, I've never tried building a ship. I really enjoy your enthusiasm when you're talking about how this kit is going together. It's looking fantastic! I've been watching your videos for years now and have enjoyed them all. I'm trying to decide what my next project will be and it's come down to this ship or a 1/6 Armortek tank. I know clearly polar opposite models, but that's where I'm at. I'm looking forward to seeing the next installment.

@michaelshort7297: I’m at about where you are with wooden ship modelling. I’ve already taken the plunge and ordered the Oseberg Viking wooden ship kit from Pavel Nikitin in Ukraine. The ship is coming from a war zone but I 100% support Ukraine in its freedom fight against Putin’s Russia! On last check, the kit is on its way from Kyiv. Companies always describe one kit as for beginners but I think all that means is it’s their least complicated! Anyways, nothing ventured nothing gained! Listening to Ben’s explanation of how he started modelling wooden ship kits sums up pretty much where most of us are coming from. Zero! I find his highly detailed tutorials answer most questions us virgins might have. A fantastic TH-camr who deserves all the support we can give him. Well done Ben. Keep it up.

    Thanks for sharing!
I think I'll stick to plastic scale models. The wooden ships are super cool but way beyond my skill and patience.

@Paulsmodels, they are cool, but man are they fun! And remember, mistakes can always be sanded or filed away, along with our friend, glue and wood putty.

I'm liking this series on the Duchess of Kingston. I finished a wooden model of the Mayflower six years ago (2015-2018). Then I built a cross-section model of the USS Constitution (2020-2021). Currently, I'm working on the wooden model of the Gunboat Philadelphia (from the Revolutionary War). So, I appreciate the work that you're doing on this model. However, I've noticed to stopped working on the USS Enterprise. When will you get back to that?
