  • After stripping out the old ratty interior in my 64 Corvair Monza, it is finally time to bring it back to life with a fresh new interior!

    It looks great in red! I like the third brake light, it’s a subtle modernization

    You sure brought that 1964 Corvair Monza back to life! That interior looks sweet! Congratulations!

    I've been following you on and off for quite a while now, and I think your car looks great. Sounds good too. I'm just glad to see that all the hard work you put into that car is paying off! I just bought a 65 Monza 4 door. It will be delivered (from Indiana to Phoenix) in 2-3 days. I haven't had a Corvair car since 2009! The Rampside is nice, but I want a car again. Your car is coming along nicely!

    You did a really great job. I've owned three Corvairs. All three were Monzas, a 62, 63 and a 64 convertible. They were such an easy car to drive. No power steering but you could easily turn the wheel even to park them.

      Thank you! I make turn in mine with a pinky! Steering wheel turns easier than some modern cars.

    When I had a '61 3dr 700 I wanted a fold down rear seat in it. Make it easier to get all the stuff like speakers and rear window fan put into it. I don't do red but that interior does look good:) You did a really good job putting it back together. Hint: Push the clips all the way back in place before putting the door cranks back on. When positioned all you do is a quick hard push and they snap into position. That car looks brand new again.

    The '64 turned out awesome, a you tuber by the name of "The Jayhawker " has a '65 corvair that he removed the air conditioning from... if interested in putting air back in your '64 check with him and you might get a good deal, wouldn't hurt to ask 😊 thanks so much for sharing and as always "Howdy from Texas "!!

      Air conditioning sure would be nice, especially how it got this summer here in Texas, 105 and I would drive in that heat. Don't know if 65 would fit but thank you for letting me know!

    The other thing you can do is put the Mustang 2 front suspension and steering package on it so it could handle a little better.

    Great Job, Ben!!! Can you tell me about the radio and the thing underneath it.

    • @benbencorvair9071
      @benbencorvair9071  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The radio does not work, as a shortcut to having music while I cruise. I found a vintage style bluetooth and Am/Fm Radio online and used velcro to stick it underneath stock radio!

    Any chance making a video on how to get the fold down seat back up after folding it mines down and been fighting it for weeks

    • @benbencorvair9071
      @benbencorvair9071  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well you've just got to give it a good pull up, lubricate the mechanism if you haven't . But there are disgned to come back up by just pulling it up.

  • @JohnnyL6975

    You put the card board in front of the metal cross support. This is wrong plus the folds on each side have to go behind the rear door panels.. take it apart and do it all over again the right way

    • @benbencorvair9071
      @benbencorvair9071  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh really? I thought it looked strange with the exposed cross support. Doesn't bother me so it will stay like this for now.
