Am not a sound man and also don't have a sound but I learn alot about sound system here I work at a store that sell sound equipment , this page help me alot
Keep up the good work educating the sound system and the Community on how a Rich-Ter scale works , I started using this back in 79 until I got something better. The sound was Lees unlimited.
To be honest this type of equipment is a master piece I have no problem with it. When I add this to my sound I get one of the powerfull bass you can think of. It's a great tool to use on your sound. I did have 3 of them but am down to one I sold 2 on ebay which I sorry because this type of equipment is hard to find are get very expensive now. As I say it is real quality I give it 10 out of 10. Once you know what your doing it will work 👌
The vintage sounds still use the Ricter scale equipment on their sound system. This is an important device that if added as a component will make a difference to the sound. The sound name Teflon from St Mary is a clean playing sound with alot of Bassline that uses Ricter scale. Big up Acid on another important content.

I am a Jamaican living in the UK, I own one from longtime ago, I take good care of it, i even convert it to UK 240volts. Wicked piece of kit for the Bassline. I even send the company an email requesting for them to remake them, as they are use alot in Reggae Sound Culture.
@@ganjafarmer1572 it has a split band eq (half octave) to be used in conjunction with the warble tone generator to clean up or boost frequencies depending on room setup, it has a mic input for calibration
The reason why back in the days bass use be more rugged, is because it was local made preamp sound system was using, now we using shop and studio gears which are filtered down. The Richter Scale is a top piece of Kit in the Reggae Sound System Culture.
I am loving all the content you’re putting out. I have a video request I pretty much watch all the channels I can find regarding Jamaican sound system’s but I can never find any on cost break down to start building a sound system so would like to request that video if possible. Thank You for the knowledge you share in the videos.
Good video acid. There's no secrets on the richter scale its just that some know and some don't know let the knowledge run free who want to get in their feelings let them at the end of the day you will be denying your viewers information they seek. I'm not a subscriber but i will today.
It cannot sound the same. I’ve tried it with a Drive rack. The first time I got the drive rack and I also have a Richter scale and a bunch of gears like you do as well. Great video.
Thank you very much for the knowledge you gave with us I always wanted one but so hard to find and I don’t know how use one which is funny the i work for use it
From my experience building big sound systems i think the newer models is better because it has everything that Richter scale has and a subwoofer subsonic maximizer with build in compressor and filters that can drop a 18 inch bass box into lower frequencies
Good info about the chip in the Richter scale want some more information sound man still use the 204 aphex, peavey kosmos, storm subgenerator e.tc. with the Richter scale so there is scret there hidden
I bought one Friday $950usd. In excellent condition. I am finally taking the time to do my little sound system. ACID, Your videos inspired me to really peruse me sound as this was a dream for me as a child growing up. Big up one of your biggest fan from Jamaica 🇯🇲 straight.
Yo no lie i got most of my sound from Benson aka Benny at canal hifi with just High Grade, Benny did love ganja for a chinese man 🤣 but a little secret Acid, Im using a Audio control Epicenter car processor for my sound. I just created my own 12v dc to 120v ac usb plug and adapter and boom. My sound got beautiful low end restored signal, And a Aphex Exciter with big bottom for both tops and bottoms, behringer fbq6200hd 31 band eq and a Alesis studio 32 ch mixer. Man it sound great with just this simple set up.
Is a Richter Scale similar to Epicenter we carribean people put in the car audio sound system for bass ? I know AudioControl also make the Epicenter and seeing you talk about the chip inside … I know we use to switch out the chip in the Epicenter to drop the frequency. Bless up to the Channel , definitely learning new things. 242 🇧🇸
If you mention Benson you must also mention *RALPH* they both were a mainstay for the pro audio in the rear of Canal HiFi! Btw have you ever attended Crown day? When Crown would park a tractor and trailer in front and you could win an amplifier from the raffle tickets and all sorts of other audio gear? Those were the days.. 😢
Had 1 on the sound with earthquake speakers when it was tune up properly it was a problem. It's definitely trial ans error with that piece. I wish I could have it again now
Why you keep calling it erector scale when you done show us the correct spelling is richter scale, the way you say it sounds like something to do with a male sexual problem.

How low does the Hz on the bass goes? I’ve heard of this piece of equipment damaging speaker 🔈 😆
I will look for one and try experiment on it…

'The Chip' is a Resistor Array in DIP package... basically an array of 1% resistors ... made by DALE.. Great analog equipment....
Greetings. Years ago I built a 2x15 band graphic eq. Each band had a different resistor value. So part of the Richter scale is a 5 band eq ?

@richardharvey3547 Somethings can be made initially for one thing but it can work for another.
it troubles me how you keep calling it the "erector scale"...
Lol 😅 I'm working on it
Yeah "erector scale" sounds LOOOOOOSE!!!, Tie up you argument.
I never hear about Richter scale
If this piece of equipment as important to pro audio how come it was never reproduce for resale?
Not sure why - but you know that's how companies are they always replacing items or taking them off the shelves
