    400m runners will always have the advantage in the 200. The closing speed of norman is incredible

      @boricuafrican1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +33

      not necessarily true...if the 400 is your main event then chances are you won't run the first half of a 200 as hard as a 100 runner...that "might" be an advantage for the 400 runner.

    • @jonacube8619
      @jonacube8619 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      boricuafrican but 400m runners tend to have an advantage towards the ending of a 200m compared to shorter distance runners. There starts may not be as good as the shorter distance runners but they tend to not slow down as much because of all their 400m training.

    • @boricuafrican1
      @boricuafrican1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@jonacube8619 depends on how much ground they have to make up...that's basically like saying Noah Lyles should beat Christian Coleman because Coleman runs the 60m and 100m while Lyles runs the 200m and 100m...sure Lyles comes back at the end of a race but he doesn't always catch people to win.

      There’s absolutely no advantage it’s all athlete dependent and race plan. Norman only beat Lyle because he had a poor race plan on that day. Mi gente look up the head to head of Coleman vs Lyles, it’s informative.

    Really hope they go through with the 2021 olympics. I can't wait to see Norman run. I'm not sure the specifics but he could win at 200 and 400m. He'd even be a medal contender at 100m and a great 4x100 relay leg. If he doesn't get injured, he will be one of the most decorated sprinters in this era. I'd also really like to see him up against Laird in the 200m.

    When you're so used to running the 400m, which is arguably the hardest sprint race, and then you move to 200m, it's like when you're swimming and you come up for air, it feels so easy.

  • @rn2511
    @rn2511 4 ปีที่แล้ว +18

    Oh yeah. I was just thinking of Lyle while watching Norman glad you added their race. Lyle taps into something towards the end of his race and he almost beat Norman. Norman style is more about maintaining speed while everyone else is slowing... it’s why Lyle was so close since he activates some kind of boost at the end 🤔

    • @Sam-yj1qt
      @Sam-yj1qt 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      no, nobody can speed up at the end of a 200m race. Lyles was slowing down just like norman and everybody else - only less.

      @@Sam-yj1qt Yikes, radar has PROVED that Lyles does speed up at the end of races. This is an oft-repeated fable. It is true MOST of the time, but Lyles is sensational in that regard and even better than Bolt (measured) in that part of the race, both in the 100 and 200.

    • @Sam-yj1qt

      @@ericdawson845 in the 200m (depending on your race tactics) there is a phase of 'Re-acceleration', usually somewhere between 110-140. you can maintain that speed for some time, but any human will begin to slow down. nobody can maintain his top speed all the way to the finish line. do you have any source to back up your claim?
