Looks like you'd put a small cutting board in that slot in the bottom of the bread box and then a bread knife to the right. 🤷♀️
The bread box held a cutting board underneath and the slot is for the bread knife. 😊

Ive been there. Just happens snd watching sad movies does not help. Try a funny movie or do something mindless, color, cross word. I've bought a few craft items at Dollar Tree to keep my mind occupied at times. Several cute ones.

Zeb, I think the area on the bottom of the bread box is to slid in a cutting board and a knife. I'm so glad you got the orange giant Jack O Lantern! I'm no that into Halloween but I woyld have grabbed that in a heartbeat. So old looking and clever.

The lady feeding the chicken it looks to be French for Nativity. You buy the pieces alone and added to your Nativity, they have different sizes. They are not cheap.

I think the breadbox had a pocket underneath for a cutting board and that slit over to the side is for the knife to cut the bread with. Just a guess since I only vaguely remember seeing one of those before. Great finds!

We don’t. But usually you can have them cut at the glass shop.
