Heads up everyone, I think things have changed with the released copy. I don’t think you can get a third talisman slot from the hidden tiger boss anymore. (You get it from beating the blacksmith in the Ruyi scroll) Also to get the spear I believe you have to kill 4 general bosses and then go back to the man in the prison. Hopefully this helps some of you!
To get the Chu Bai Spear, you have to defeat a total of 4 captains. Two are at the pangoda like the video shows, but the other two are further into the story. Just keep an eye out of the word "Captain" when you beat them and capture them into your gourd.

If you bought the Sobering Stone, the jar instead contains one of the most powerful consumable items in the game. It's a single legendary medicine: Ascension Powder, which you can only hold one of and which makes actions temporarily cost zero stamina.

Heads up too, in the pagoda, kill those tall long monsters with the weird head and eyes that comes out when you health starts draining. You get so much will, killing 2 of them is an easy lvl up
This game has so many secret locations. I thought I finished the whole game after the last boss, but boy I need to go back for all the missing items/quests.
In fact, you can complete the final level without searching. He will have many story endings, but if you want to find everything, there is much more than that.
I don't think many popular review outlets beat or explore the full game before putting out a review. some cant even handle tutorials or focus on other stuff like dramas surrounding the game. this is also the first time I heard there are secret weapons outside the staff. cant wait for the weekend to give the game a good Long play session.
As far as I know it's only the spears that have a different move set, and I think there are only two spears in the game, the rat prince one, and one that you get in the process of obtaining the secret ending
That's because he's lying all move sets are exactly the same only EQUIPPED EFFECTS lol this dude uses words like early when he's talking about chapter 4 and 5 that not early that's over halfway if you actually done everything per chapter
Hey guys, just some corrections, you get the spear from doing the 4 captains side quest in chapter 3 and you get the third curios slot from unlocking ryui place and then fighting the tiger blacksmith. Hope this helps
Btw if you don’t know how to do either of these, for ryui palace (third curios slot), reach the point in chapter three where you unlock north shore of bitter lake shrine, then at said shrine, turn immediately around and there should be an npc dragon to fight. Beat him, then he’ll say he’ll need Xu dogs medicine. Return to the cellar shrine in the tiger temple in yellow wind ridge, then go to xu dog (the guy who upgrades stats) and talk with him, then choose the talk option. Keep doing that until the talk option disappears, then return to the dragon in chapter three (he’ll be where you fought him, but a lil ahead near a house) and give him the medicine. Then you’ll unlock ryui place, which is also a player hub for upgrading. Speak to the blacksmith tiger in the back and challenge him, then beat him for the third curios slot. For the spear, you have to beat the boss he mentioned in the video then talk to the prince. After that, beat all the required main bosses in chapter three, and also go get a soul from a colossus. This colossus can be found by traveling to The New West>Valley of ecstasy>Longevity road shrine. From this shrine turn right then walk down until you see the colossus and then interact with its body to obtain the soul. After this, if you haven’t already beaten chapter 3, do so and then return to the prince when possible and speak to him again. The cutscene will trigger and it will allow you to build the spear after. Have fun everyone

Third talisman slot is on chapter 3 in ruyi scroll. Talk to yin tiger and there will be "equip more curious" option on him. The dev not patched the game, i watch gamebreakergod stream on day 1 and he got no talisman slot too after beating tiger vanguard.

Nah, bro. People who’s saying this were comparing this game to souls like from what we saw in trailers. It is a lot more forgiving than a souls like, sure. But that does not make the game easy. Also, different types of games require different kinds os skills. So, don’t mind these kind of coments and be prepared to be challenge by a wonderfull game

Everything else is the same as every soulslike, so even though everyone, including the devs say it's not a soulslike, it IS a soulslike. It's combat depends on perfect timed dodges or parrying and stamina management, you save at shrines which are the same as bonfires and reset the entire map along with its enemies, if you die you respawn either at the "bonfire" or at a "stake of marika" if you're in a secret boss area. Are those not the most crucial parts of a soulslike? If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it's probably a duck! It IS a soulslike no matter how many people say it isn't. It's progression system is nearly identical to Sekiro, so if we count Sekiro as a soulslike or soulsbourne, then Wukong also has to be in that category, based on all the points I've stated above.
To get the 3rd charm slot you have to fight the lion guy from the desert at the oasis in the 3rd chapter. He is hard as shit so definitely get ready for a hard fight
Yin Tiger is a Zodiac Deity, not a tiger guai. And before you ask, no, im not sure on the specific differences, as i really need to read jttw. I'd assume like Xu Dog and Shen Monkey, Yin Tiger used to be a part of / associated with the Celestial Court and had worldy desires that drew him back to the mortal realm. Wukong, it was his mountain. Dog, it was pills. Monkey, drink. This is my conclusion from reading all the lore up to chapter 3, and the little reading I've done about the mythos. Feel free to correct anything that's wrong, as I'd love to learn more about this mythos.
To get the third curious slot you have to beat the Yin Tiger NPC in the Zodiac Village. Hes the NPC that upgrades your armor. A tough fight but he will reward you with his transformation and talking to him again allows you to pick the option to expand the curious slot.
defeating wise voice isn't enough to advance the quest and get the spear head you need to defeat all 4 of the captains he mentioned i was stuck with the the initial dialog untill i had the remians of all 4
Yea just on the Chu Bai spear things have changed. You won't get the spear if you just go back to him after defeating captain wise voice. You have to defeat some other bosses in chapter 3( 4 bosses in total which he mentions in the conversation as well) once you take the items you get from the bosses and take it back to him then you can get the spear head.

07:45 correction - it reduces your attack if you DONT use the gourd often. This is good as a boss-fight specific item against chiefs and (some) kings that dont take too long to murder.

Just a heads up, you may already know but in the 2nd chapter there is another secret level, the bottom of the well. You need to get the boys drum, visit 3 diff areas, the last behind where the horse was tied up, and go into the well. You’ll fight the Mad King and get his spirit and some other good shi
To get the drum go to the Windrest Hamlet" Shrine cross the small bridge and go left. You’ll find a large bridge with a boss the tigers acolyte. Kill him and you’ll receive the drum. Careful as you can dodge off the bridge to your death and the acolyte will also try and push you over.
I think some of your info for this video might be out of date, buddy. Neither the spear nor the third talisman slot are where you suggest following the other circumstances being the way you suggest they need to be. Perhaps it made people too powerful early on?
So, in order to get the Chu-Bai Spear you have to progress the third prince’s quest line which requires you to progress further into chapter 3. The third prince has four captains that you have to deal with. One is just a corpse that you have to loot. Three of them are boss fights. The one at the top of the pagoda is only the second.
Apparently you can rechallenge the yin tiger again by talking to him, and pick the one says increase curios slot, after you beat him again you can freely challenge him anytime you want but no more rewards
In the second chapter there is also a legendary staff if you collect all the buddah eyes and then go back to where you fought the rock sentinal or guardian. Cant remember.
Collect enough 6 Buddha Eyes before you defeat the Rock Sentinels and wake up the Black Monolith then you'll see the two of them fight, which makes the battle a lot easier
got the fireproof mantle already would love to get the other items, I still wish the game was a bit easier but am hanging in there and pushing through doing my best and honestly I feel a little proud that am slowly mastering some stuff and the mechanics. You dont need to buy the gold ridge beast its in a chest in the secret are to the left of the king thats at the drum .. as soon as you go thru the gate to the sand turn left you will see a biulding its there save your 12k

I beat the boss that did the debuff first Instead of the one lock-ing the cages and the prince Isn’t realy giving any dialogue just the same thing and no Chubai
@@narakwho1016 he told it wrong in the guide so there’s two generals in the prison and then you have to find another two later on. I don’t think beating them in any order matters because you have to beat the first one before you talk to the guy anyway.
To get the third curios slot you have to beat the blacksmith tiger, once you beat him talk to him and the third option will be to get the third curios slot.
I think there is a quest when you save a person on the land where the turtle depart. it's in North Shore of the Bitter Lake. This man gave a riddle something like "Without is greeny, within is red, best for summer times". I think he needs a watermelon, anyone know this yet?

Yeah I guess mines bugged. Talked to him, killed dude to unlock doors, went back to him, killed main area boss, went back again and he just says the same stuff over and over
The insect armor is bugged or something. It says you need 4 pieces for the set bonus but it only has 3 pieces that has been found. With no chest piece found you can't use the bonus.

Just so its out there. The Yin Tiger boss, is not just a "hard" fight! Its almost unbearable. With the Lord God on my side and I calm mind, I beat him after like 2 hours. That is a long time for this game's bosses. Its worth it though! Just a PSA! Amazing game though!

Your not alone bro. And unfortunately its gets even harder. I just finished all the bosses to get these secret items in this guide and its HARD!

So, one of my friend could not get the spear, he did the questline and killed both bosses and there is no option to deliver it to him 11:03

apparently if you ring all three bells, get teleported and then never visit the corpse until you are in chapter 2, you cant interact with the corpse

You can get the 3rd curio by challenging the blacksmith in the painted realm. If you win a new dialog option about curios appears
In the second chapter there is also a legendary staff if you collect all the buddah eyes and then go back to where you fought the rock sentinal or guardian. Cant remember.
Collect enough 6 Buddha Eyes before you defeat the Rock Sentinels and wake up the Black Monolith then you'll see the two of them fight, which makes the battle a lot easier
got the fireproof mantle already would love to get the other items, I still wish the game was a bit easier but am hanging in there and pushing through doing my best and honestly I feel a little proud that am slowly mastering some stuff and the mechanics. @@johndymond4596 took me a while as well I’d almost get him and then he’d just seem to do that glowing fist and shoot out that thing and catch me every time took me ages to get the dodging down I was dodging to early and then not being able to move quick enough again to get out of the line of fire eventually I done it fairly quick.
no the snout mask is when you drink often you get an attack buff because he's a drunk, but if you dont drink often you lose attack ..

There’s a secret boss in the first stage, he’s under a waterfall. It’s a black lightning dragon.
You can't fight him until you get the Loong Scales from the 2nd Rat Prince in Chapter 2. It's name is Red Loong, they all seem to have shock damage.
I did the secret area already, but i didnt get any 3. talisman slot. Only the one Talisman. Crazy

Put your 5 skill point on the stamina skill tree for the 1st 5 skill, then rest all into smash stance

You dont need to buy the gold ridge beast its in a chest in the secret are to the left of the king thats at the drum .. as soon as you go thru the gate to the sand turn left you will see a biulding its there save your 12k

You now need all four captain spirits to get the spear, give all 4 to that NPC & he will give the spear head
You made a mistake with the snout mask: it says that NOT using the gourd reduces the attack, not using it too often.
The giant beetle is also a secret boss fight that the wind tiger rat will willingly help you fight im so addicted to this game

You need drum use it at village at 3 place village ,kill mad tiger to get armor bro ... i know village entery is last place to use drum ...when grey use drum ...jump to the well ...2 village i forget

I beat the boss that did the debuff first Instead of the one lock-ing the cages and the prince Isn’t realy giving any dialogue just the same thing and no Chubai

@@narakwho1016 he told it wrong in the guide so there’s two generals in the prison and then you have to find another two later on. I don’t think beating them in any order matters because you have to beat the first one before you talk to the guy anyway.
When I tell you that blacksmith was the hardest boss yet. Only thing close was the laser captain in chapter 3.
To get the third curios slot you have to beat the blacksmith tiger, once you beat him talk to him and the third option will be to get the third curios slot.

I neither got the 3rd talisman slot nor the crafting material for the spear weapon. I hope thats just a bug and I get the upgrades/items when its fixed.

Also the turtle skull in chp3 can also be farmed in chp5 when your going up against spinning spere you kill the turtle around 3rd try for me i got it

Yeah I guess mines bugged. Talked to him, killed dude to unlock doors, went back to him, killed main area boss, went back again and he just says the same stuff over and over

The insect armor is bugged or something. It says you need 4 pieces for the set bonus but it only has 3 pieces that has been found. With no chest piece found you can't use the bonus.

If you get the 6 eyes first you can get the 2 stone bosses to fight lol, one of them body slams the other

Just so its out there. The Yin Tiger boss, is not just a "hard" fight! Its almost unbearable. With the Lord God on my side and I calm mind, I beat him after like 2 hours. That is a long time for this game's bosses. Its worth it though! Just a PSA! Amazing game though!
