This truck is a 2022 Pre Refresh Silverado Custom 2.7l with the Standard Output engine. It has an 8 speed transmission.

That was a climb! Gee wizz! Thats kinda creepy going down that with a big camper. Going uphill never botherd me its going down that makes me spooked.

Nice country! That 9K you mentioned, is that the weight of everything or just the trailer unloaded. Personally I wouldn't want to pull that much weight even on flat ground with a 1/2 ton truck. You have better nerves than I do, I reckon.

Thank you! Yes. This is the Sequatchie Valley in Tennessee and it is a stunning place!
My trailer is right at 9,000lbs loaded up. The truck and trailer together are close to 14.5-15k combined weight per the scales.

Buying a 2.7 soon I hope. Have any issues with the 8 speed transmission? Carbon buildup in the throttle body or cylinders? Any other issues mechanically?

Hello, been following you since just before I got my 2.7 lt Silverado, just curious what kind of gas mileage your getting on yours pulling your camper. Fixing to run up to Ohio to pick up our our new camper from Florida. I last pulled our old camper from storage wasn’t far enough to gadge gas mileage?

Yeah now I seen last night you’re looking to possibly trade 2.7 😟 I get it, I traded my 3/4 ton to get the 2.7 to save money on gas. Was definitely excited to find out the 2.7 pulled so well. We sold our 33’ Salem, now headed to Ohio to pick up our new micro boost that weighs ruffly 7500 lb dry and looking forward to bringing it home. I was told no matter size of a truck you have 9/10 mpg is all you’re going to get. I had the 6.6 gas Silverado 2021 3/4 ton (loved it) we got the 2.7 also so my wife could drive it was too big for her.

@@walterkurutz307 that's a good match to the 2.7l. Our last trailer was about 7,200 lbs loaded and it was a fantastic match to this truck. In my mind I think about needing a 3/4 ton but when I'm actually pulling with the 2.7l it just does such a good job! I may still hold on to it as it's really good for daily life and the MPG is ridiculously good! Upgrading the tires to LT tires would probably take care of the last little bit of wiggle my trailer has on windy days.

These trucks have absolutely 0 engine breaking do not be deceived by these videos.

@@brandonwebb2820 it's not as good as a V8, but it does have engine braking. Thing is, you have to let it rev pretty high to be useful. I did a lot of engine braking in this video down Cagle Mountain , TN. Nothing in this video was made up and I was towing my 9,000 lb trailer.
I know you have issues with yours. I have no idea what's wrong because my experience is that this 2.7l pulls harder than my old F350 with a V10, and my trailer is heavier now than what I had with that truck.
Do you have a lift and oversized tires?
