I used to think the same way about people doing too much with their organizing, but some people find this therapeutic and enjoyable. I started cleaning my house yesterday when I was feeling down, and it made me feel so much better to make my home look pretty.
Oh how I wish cleaning and organising was therapeutic for me. It's just frustrating, I keep dropping things, no sense of accomplishment and the decision making of where to put things is overbearing...

For laundry stuff I like to decant like this, it calms my mind when I do it and also makes the utility room more organised. Before when it was all the original packaging it was a mess. I used to judge these types of videos as I felt it was a waste of time then did it with my laundry stuff and realised how nice it feels plus my chaotic adhd brain likes it. My gran always used to say ‘each to their own, as long as it isn’t hurting anyone then carry on’
Oh, most definitely! But they could at least be more practical and not ruin their products. These products come in matte containers for a reason. So no light bounces off, and it's dark inside. The exposure to light messes it up. So, I would do DIY matte containers and it can still be cute.
The only bad thing about this is that sometimes the original packaging is specially designed for the product or has important information about the product and if you throw away the packaging you lose that

People are so obsessed about looks that they dont tend to realise those products were perfectly good the way they were in their original containers. Most of those didn't even fit them glass jars, so that's taking extra space, which makes no sense, and some products aren't even supposed to be placed in direct sunlight.

I’ve had that container for my fabric softener, be carful because the lid can mold due to the moistness of the fabric softener! Make sure to wash it and check for molding.

Greenwashing. Even “eco friendly” products cause a lot of waste. Whether it’s in production, or travel, there’s waste. Recyclable items are barely actually recycled. Unless change happens at an industrial level, small percentage of people buying fake eco stuff will never make a difference. For instance, went to a clients home who makes and sells shampoo bars and sells at a local eco store… just guess how much packaging it takes for her to receive all the ingredients? 🫠 and from numerous states….

Just because the eco-friendly stores are putting them in reusable containers while they are on sale doesn’t change the fact that it had to travel there in packaging. So the excessive amount of light even from the light bulbs can damage the product either creating side reactions making the product useless or just loose the effectiveness of the product. In short it’s photoexposure (i don’t remember the exact term), where chemical reacts with light source to create a reaction.
Laundry detergent in glass containers is fine. It’s only affected when exposed to direct sunlight or high levels of heat. And even then, all that happens is it has a shorter shelf-life. Storing it in a cool, dark laundry room in glass until you need to do laundry is fine.
Is there a better way to get your clothes soft without it? I’ve heard this a lot but I just rlly like my clothes to be soft and smell nice for longer and just can’t stop using it. 😭
@@sophieplumbob2900 you can use white distilled vinegar instead of fabric softener (your clothes will not smell of vinegar) or you can use wool dryer balls in your clothes dryer. They will act as a fabric softener and anti-static wrinkle releaser during drying.
@@NutsItsBerserkinTime true. Sadly so will using vinegar as a replacement because the rubber "ring" breaks down when exposed to too much acid. Edit: it also means clothing with elastic starts to sag sooner 😢
