1. To select Shape 2, select the layer and press Ctrl + Click on thumbnail.
2. Rasterize the Polygon1 layer, still selected this layer hit the Delete key
from your keyboard to delete the selected shape from the base shape.
3. Delete Shape 2 layer.
4. Ctrl + D to Deselect.
5. Now select Shape 1 layer and press Ctrl + Click on thumbnail to select
Shape 1.
6. Select Polygon 1 layer and again hit the Delete key.
7. Delete Shape 1 layer.
8. Ctrl + D to get rid of selection.

Your designs are good, but i am wondering, what about the re-scale ability of the deigns/logo. because you rasterized the layers, if we are going to re-size it , pixels gonna be distorted, aren't they..?

1. Draw a shape, which I want to subtract from original shape.
2. Select new shape & then hide the visibility of selected layer.
3. Select original shape layer, Rasterize it, & hit the delete key from your keyboard.

hi.. I tried to do the same as you.. but while I am making this logo I had face a problem. after selection.. the white partch remains as it is. if I select the logo for cut paste option it will also select the white patch.. will u plz help me with this Thanx..

Logo should be always made in vectors, so that you can have multiple sizes... What if your customer wants this logo alot larger.. u're screwed. Use Illustrator for such things.

Basically Photoshop was originally created as a tool for photographers to edit and manage their photos - and for many people, this remains its primary use. However, due to the vast array of tools available, Photoshop is now so much more than this.
Most people use Adobe Illustrator because it is an advanced vector-based software. So, unlike Photoshop’s pixel-based format, it uses mathematical constructs to create vector graphics. Because of this, Illustrator is used often to create logos or anything that may need to be printed or displayed at different sizes. A vector graphic will never lose its quality if it’s scaled up or down.

⊰✿ First of all thanks for watching Kdigits xrazy456 . . !! I didn't delete anything at 1:23. Basically when I draw a shape over the triangle using pen tool, the selected color is same as background color, that's why new shape merge with the background.

hey, i have a question. i designed a logo of about 5 inches by 5 inches. but if i zoom in or use it some where else. it pixelates. Could you tell me where im going wrong?!.
The image doesnt seem crisp. it looks like a copy of a bad image.

⊰✿ Thanks for watching +royalpurple . .!! Although Photoshop is a pixel based software it is not ideal for logo designing. In Photoshop whenever you try to increase the size it'll lose the quality. Only the one solution that you should select a large size file.

⊰✿ I didn't hit any key or deleted any part. Basically, foreground color filled in my new shape 1 and I already have filled same color in the background, so shape 1 color is blended with background color.

But when you follow the tutorial make sure shape is selected on the left side of the Options bar (01:01)
Kindly note that the selected color is already filled in the background, that's why new shape color merged with the background color.

This should be made in Illustrator instead. That way it can be scaled to any size. PS should not be used for logo design.

Hi!, i don't understand when you do the ctrl + D?, sure is that command? doing ctrl click on shape2 and rasterize polygon + ctrl +d anything happends... Andthe shape1 miniature is smaller than others... Hel me please or just talk ni the videos dude.

Dopo il primo ctrl+D che comando viene dato per unire il livello SHAPE 1 con Poligon e SHAPE 2 con Poligon? Grazie
Segui questi passi:
1. Per caricare la selezione da Shape 2, selezionare il layer e premere Ctrl Fare clic sulla miniatura.
2. Rasterizza il livello Polygon1, ancora selezionato questo livello premi il tasto Elimina dalla tastiera per eliminare la forma selezionata dalla forma base.
3. Elimina il livello Shape 2.
4. Ctrl D per Deselezionare.
5. Ora seleziona il livello Forma 1 e premi Ctrl + Fai clic sulla miniatura per selezionare Forma 1.
6. Selezionare il livello Poligono 1 e premere nuovamente il tasto Elimina.
7. Elimina il livello Shape 1.
8. Ctrl D per eliminare la selezione.

@@KaukabYaseen sono riuscita! Grazie ancora, una cosa che non mi riesce però è dopo aver dato la forma del triangolo e utilizzando lo strumento tracciati (selezionando forma) puntando in alto e facendogli fare la curva non mi "elimina" la parte ... non so se mi sono spiegata... Grazie ancora
Ogni volta che sei il benvenuto!
Non elimina la parte. Fondamentalmente ogni volta che disegni una forma con lo strumento penna, usa il colore di primo piano. Quindi in questo caso il mio colore di primo piano è il colore della mia tela. Quando disegno una forma curva, il colore si fonde con il colore della tela e nasconde una parte del triangolo.
