We have our freedom fighters who went to jail several times during the freedom struggle but the people of India did not discard them Today we are facing the same situation, the only difference being that political leaders are being held in jail for crimes which may never be proven in courts The result is that they are punished due to the provisions in the PMLA act even though they are not guilty
The sad story of the drama is whenever Kejriwalji or anyother politician is taken to court, so many policemen accompany them as if they are terrorists. These superfluous policemen could be used to patrol areas where women are subjected to harassment and drugs are sold with gay abandon. This is mockery of democracy and wastage of public money without any accountability.
