KottabosGames also thank ProtoJeb21! he is an awesome guy who's still learning but so far I think he did a pretty good job! will you do a review of Kerbol Origins? i have been working on it for years now and its latest iterations are nonetheless the best it ever had. and it's now a mixed mod, adding both rocket parts and planets.
Not just that but every single planet in the system are close enough to influence each over’s orbits, creating a very strange orbital resonance. 3-4 of the planets are also (small) candidates for life, and are so close together that cross alien pollination is likely. One of them is reported to have a flyaway greenhouse effect but with extremely hot WATER VAPOR, so as much as that screams free water you probably wouldn’t want to expose yourself to it as it would be a literal supersonic death deluge.
Your right, the planet that you like is absolutely amazing, it looks like some of the land areas look like they have rivers going all the way through it
This is really great and so very creative. I'll be following this mod for sure. Kudos to the current as well as original creator. I love the look and the names are really well done too :) nice references. one thing - I don't think I would want to live on Lamancha. The view would be gorgeous, but large gas giants tend to give off a ton of radiation and have very strong magnetospheres which would overwhelm Lamanchas... meaning it would be bathed in nice ionizing radiation... Good thing KSP doesn't model that :)
If we didn't want to cheat our way to these planets but also didn't want to build a century ship, what engine mod pack would be the most reasonable or fun way of getting to the new solar systems. I would love to do like a kerbal Star Trek Enterprise playthrough. A 7 year mission to seek out new life. To boldly go where no Kerbal has gone before.
bkLEGION3000 Holy Mackerel, we can fly from the Kerbol system to any of the systems in this pack? I wasn't sure if that was the case, or if we had to launch from inside the systems. Cool!
Did anyone notice that Theros has a radius of 666 km, and an atmospheric pressure of 0.06667, and that i feel like the returning of 666 is supposed to mean something?
It just happened. Apparently, 1.11 times the radius of Kerbin is 666. I was making Theros proportional to Kerbin the way its real-life counterpart, TRAPPIST-1b, is proportional to Earth in radius.
Hi, ProtoJeb21 (finally) here. Nice review! I'm surprised you enjoyed the mod so much, even though a good portion of the textures were rather sub-par, even that of Lamancha (in my opinion). And the reason so many planets had thin atmospheres was because I SUCKED at atmospheres :P. Thankfully that stuff is 99% fixed in version 1.1.
Also the original mod page suffered a "Kraken attack," so here's the new one: forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/155620-122-kopernicus-interstellar-adventure-revived-v110-huge-overhaul-update-19feb17/#comment-2935473
Your favorite system has references to the Expanse in it. Dulcinea is the name of the very first episode while Rocinante is the name of the ship of the main characters from episode 4 onwards.
The ring would indicate that the star is still developing, given enough time the ring will form into many more planets as the asteroids making up the ring collide creating planets similar looking to the two between and outside the rings of that gas giant
It would be weird for a rogue planet to have any significant atmosphere, because that would require some source of heat to keep elements in a gaseous state instead of freezing and condensing onto the surface. Now, if the planet had significant volcanic activity, that might create an atmosphere, but it would have to be a young planet for that to be likely.
Tatooine isn't the sole planet in its system, though. And I think it has like... 3-5% surface water, so it isn't a 'desert planet' in the proper sense.
The first planet you go to in the mod sounds alot like how Nibirue is suppose to be in real life. Orbiting two stars with a 3000+ year orbit. It has a pretty interesting story.
how are that green gas giants rings hard to see? its very clearly visible (then again, color perception is dependant on your mother tounge, like for example, Vietnamese have trouble distinguishing blue and green as its the same in their language)
1:46 - Selphar "C'mon, look at those rocks" YES! LET'S ALL GO OVER THERE TO SMOKE SPACEROCKS! I guess you could say that it'd be an... Interstellar trip
You can also just hide the navball in map mode to use shift-tab without cranking the throttle. (Learned that after an extremely unfortunate incident involving a space station and a resupply ship.)
Im currently beginning "Near Future Kolonization" playthrough, is it compatible? Can i get there with NF engines? Are there science / biomes at these planets? Looks amazing and i have so many questions about this..
Pay attention to the gravities and atmospheric pressures. One of them has 17g, and no atmosphere. It's Tylo's drunk uncle.
And K296-B is desperately trying to be Tatooine
8:20 Pegsos, and apparently it’s a moon!
17? for Jupiter it’s 2.5
Lol pegsos
OH MY GOD
hey! i'm the original creator. I will eventually return to this mod but so far ProtoJeb has done quite a job! he mentained my original idea :D
Alexandru 2000 your mod is awesome!!!
Lenny _ well it WAS my mod over a year ago. it contained a single star system and I wonder if some of the planets still are in the newest version :D
cool!!!
i really,REALLY,love planets mod,and yours seems to be the best one i've ever seen
glad to hear it, and thanks for starting what has become a great planet pack
KottabosGames also thank ProtoJeb21! he is an awesome guy who's still learning but so far I think he did a pretty good job!
will you do a review of Kerbol Origins? i have been working on it for years now and its latest iterations are nonetheless the best it ever had. and it's now a mixed mod, adding both rocket parts and planets.
When you find out trappist-1 has 7 planets instead of one, and you gotta go work on a massive update to apease the fans that are obsessed with realism
Not just that but every single planet in the system are close enough to influence each over’s orbits, creating a very strange orbital resonance. 3-4 of the planets are also (small) candidates for life, and are so close together that cross alien pollination is likely. @@topsecret1837 If water vapour escapes that planet, it could condense on the others.
The day night cycle on Lamancha could be very interesting because of the gas giant's shining...
(8:21) **Spews milk out of nose** WHAT IS THAT GRAVITY!?
17 G?
*excuse me what the fu-*
I think the dev forgot to put a 0.17 one in front of it xD
OMG 18G
WAT
17,81566 aprox, that planet is too dense
12:35 Those aren't fault lines, they are the cracks of the moon ripping apart from tidal forces.
I was going to say that too.
Your right, the planet that you like is absolutely amazing, it looks like some of the land areas look like they have rivers going all the way through it
ProtoJeb, Protogen, rocinante... someone's been watching a lot of The Expanse...
I'm sorry, what's The Expanse? :P
But all the names in the Cervantes system were from the IAU or Miguel Cervantes' books.
Actually, the whole"Cervantes" system has names taken from the Spanish novel "El Quijote", as a spanish person I found it quite funny
@@protojeb2173 Is it safe to assume that you've abandoned any further development or compatibility with this mod?
I ve been reading the expanse
something for you flat earthers
if the earth is flat, then why is it called atmo*sphere* and not atmo*Flat*
Congrats, you messed up the Flat Earth Society
@@Creeper_123 that's a good thing right
Yeah... take THAT flat earthers!
This is really great and so very creative. I'll be following this mod for sure. Kudos to the current as well as original creator. I love the look and the names are really well done too :) nice references.

Good thing KSP doesn't model that :)
That "ring continent" is an atoll, a giant one.
you know I wanted to call it an atoll but it's just so large that I didn't know if that still fits when it's continent size.
Size makes no difference, atoll.
(Deeply sorry about that).
KottabosGames Size doesn't matter.
Haha Trapist should include more planets now ! ^^
Yeah, that was what I was thinking

bkLEGION3000 Warp mods of any type

I suggest part-config-editing-with-notepad mod
that moon with life is probably pandora from avatar with the light blue gas giant.
Pandora 2 billion years later?
8:28 Apparently Pegsos had 17 gees of gravity and an 8600 m/s escape velocity...
IIIDoctor_EIII Isn't that similar to Earth in escape speed?
...Whoops :P
Knowing Jupiter’s is 2.5 that’s a hard think
Did anyone notice that Theros has a radius of 666 km, and an atmospheric pressure of 0.06667, and that i feel like the returning of 666 is supposed to mean something?
Man I would love to play this with the interstellar mod
Someone’s a Don Quixote fan
The last planet is Tatooine! And you called kerbals kerbins.
Cervantes, lamancha, Sancho...this guy knows his plays. ("Man of Lamancha")
This and GamesLinx's planet pack are the best extra planet mods out there (atleast in my opinion)
Holy shit, I hope they update trappist to have habitable planets!
Loved the Don Quijote themed ones
Thank the IAU for giving the planets of the Mu Arae system those names. I continued the trend for all new bodies of Cervantes, except for Kalley.
Is Morena a reference to Rodina?
I wish you advanced time on the binary stars at 13:10 to see them in action. Nice videos btw.
2:56 Has anyone noticed that the Eq. Radius was 666?
And? So what?
The Rex 2-5 *facepalm*
It just happened. Apparently, 1.11 times the radius of Kerbin is 666. I was making Theros proportional to Kerbin the way its real-life counterpart, TRAPPIST-1b, is proportional to Earth in radius.
I bet that last planet is Tatooine from Starwars XD
I love how that habitable earth-like moon ( sorry I forgot the names) is in the same moon system as 4546b from Subnautica.
Ice moons can have an atmosphere as the ice is likely to be frozen gas, as the star would heat the gas up to produce an atmosphere.
6:31 he knew how to say it he just didnt want to
Quick get the hyperdrives! We are going there to the other systems!
Oh wait. maybe this is something only No Man's Sky players can think about
7:40 End well for my Kerbins? I only have one kerbin Kottabos.
It's been updated. Now has a pulsar. There's no way I'm ever gonna finish exploring all these planets in stock.
good job. now we have more stars AND NOW WE EXPLORE DEM
Trappist one now has 7 planets and not one, so kudos if they updated that!

ProtoJeb 21 my texture for lamancha looks very different that the awesome one in this video. did I down load an older version or something.

At Trappist 1 the shine from Cervantes star went through the red dwarf star.
2:07 Maybe because the temperature of a rogue planet would be just several degrees higher than the absolute zero?
niobe is the name of a character in an ancient greek tragedy
296b reminds me of tatooine (a desert planet in a binary system)
oliver barbaros That's I was thinking! I am surprised he didn't mention that.
Same lol!
Tatooine isn't the sole planet in its system, though. And I think it has like... 3-5% surface water, so it isn't a 'desert planet' in the proper sense.

Any chance you could make a small play through of this? I for one would watch it
the two stars and a desert planet i think they made it like star wars
I think I smell Pandora moon in the air.
A desert orbiting binary stars... Tatooine Confirmed
1:30 as soon as i heard trappist-1 i downloaded the mod. Then i watched more of the video and was slightly disappointed.
Someone hasnt read Don Quixote....
The systems just don’t feel fleshed out. They feel.. Empty… Like the stock system is the best example of a good system.
Europe is an ice gun without atmosphère orbiting around jupiter
Theros's back is just a moon texture :>
The last planet you locked at is like tattoine
Now land on all the planets! LOL
296b is basically real life tattoine
ProtoJeb if you're reading this add the 6 more planets NASA discovered to TRAPPIST-1
anyone started thinking about watching interstellar soon when the water planet came
?
VENUS HAS AN ATMOSPHERE
9:18 What if you put a boat on that planet?
8:18 it has freaking 18 g
The one planet in the binary star system is definitely tatooine
They should make it so you can dive into the water and explore.
7:42 For your Kerbins?
I just stumbled upon this THIS EARLY
wait i just remembered that a planet with no atmosphere you can orbit 1 metre from the ground and not lose speed :)
unless there is gas present on the surface (quite likely)
@KottabosGames you should review SSTU, i know it would be a long one, but ive been using it for a month and its bloomin amazing!
7:22 asteroid belt?
a ring around a star? i think those are called asteroid belts.
how are that green gas giants rings hard to see? its very clearly visible (then again, color perception is dependant on your mother tounge, like for example, Vietnamese have trouble distinguishing blue and green as its the same in their language)
mate Mercury has an atmosphere
supprised you haven't put this in your mods playlist.
Elastro reminds me of Dione.(Saturn’s moon)
KOTTABOS DO NOT EAT BRIGID
hey can you start a modded play thorough with the current version? goals are building a apace station and colonizing planets
Just saying, but that "CEO" moon looks like a retextured Mun... im not saying it is, it just looks like that to me
*YUK, SPACE ENGINE TEXTURES*
DESERT PLANETS!
I haven't even made it to Duna and I've had the game for over a year
I don't have the patience. :P

cheers! im forever learning
296B is Tatoine!
Turn off your engines if you ever want to use Shift-Tab to go in reverse order.
You can also just hide the navball in map mode to use shift-tab without cranking the throttle. (Learned that after an extremely unfortunate incident involving a space station and a resupply ship.)
Kerbins from Kerbal?!
Heard trapist-1 and started pushing download mod
Im currently beginning "Near Future Kolonization" playthrough, is it compatible? Can i get there with NF engines? Are there science / biomes at these planets? Looks amazing and i have so many questions about this..
Every planet has a LOT of science. Only a few have biomes, though.
Why aren't there any their anyone play with this mod? Like a playthough or something
Sadly none of these mods can work inn the 1.7 version of the game I have now in 2019?
Latest version is 1.3.0 i think
some mission there?
Theros's equater radius is 666 lol
Can I just install this by itself without anything else, or do I need another mod to use it?
Pink ice?
But the actual trappist 1 has many planets!
how come my lamancha looks different
8:28 isn't it that important that this moon has a Gravity ASL of 17,98166 g ????? i mean .... WTF 17 !!!!!
The eq. radius of Theros is 666!!
