I love this, that’s so fun. My last cooperating teacher did this with phonics man music (a song for math/numbers), and a song with ELA. The kids loved the music and so did we! They were able to clean their areas and got a chance to have a fun dance break.
Thank you for including how to teach this to our kiddos, I was able to see how well this worked in the classroom but never got a chance to see how to actually teach the kids to transition. ❤️

Music is awesome for transitions. Thanks for sharing how you teach this procedure!! When the kids go to their learning spots, are they allowed to talk quietly on the carpet, or sing along if you’re not sitting in your chair yet, or do you want them to be silent, sitting and waiting? Great video!

I have learned so much from your classroom management videos. You are so inspiring because of what an amazing teacher you are. You have helped to see just how imperative classroom management is, especially for students whose lives are challenging as a result of trauma. This is why I want to teach. I am just about to go into my senior of college and I will be a new teacher soon. I was quite nervous about what will happen during my student teaching and my first year of teaching because I did not have a lot of experience with classroom management. These tips have really helped ease my nerves as classroom management for a first-year teacher is pretty daunting. Now, I feel a little more prepared and I know that I will always be learning no matter if I am a first-year teacher or a veteran teacher.

Hey Miss. May! I'm checking from Mississippi, just 15 minutes outside of Memphis, Tn. Aawwwww Miss. May I'm so glad that I've stumbled across your channel🤗!!!! I've been bing watching your videos for the last 2 days! I swear you have a video for every topic or matter that us teachers need.I love the positive vibes that is all throughout this channel! Since I've been watching your videos, I noticed that we have somethings in common. There's a few: we're both Christian educators, we both drive Honda Accords but mine is a four door, I had the pixie for years until I started letting my hair back this past January, and I LOVE OLD NAVY🥰. Old Navy is where I get 97% of my wardrobe from. We( the teachers) go back to work on August 7th, and because of you I'm very motivated!I'm looking forward a positive yet fun school year! I'm also looking forward to watching more videos of Miss May this coming school year. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your Fab Blessings!

How often should you demonstrate the transitions and ask kids about what they noticed what it looks like and sounds like? Do you do it with every time you transition or is it only shown a few times during the beginning of the school year and at times that you feel you need to refresh their memories? I really do like using music or videos as a method rather than shouting out and trying to match their energy level.

@@OneFABTeacher My teaching procedures are pretty much in line with what you're saying, some classes it sticks right away which is a joy to see it run like a well oiled machine while other classes it might take half the year or the whole year if am being honest, you know 30 classes! But all in all, it is good, plus I've got awesome teachers in my back pocket to refer to every now and then!😁🧡💜❤
