I wish they would have continued a platformer instead of going with GTA. You can’t tell me there wasn’t so much to be done with every type of eco, it could have been the best platformer ever but they wanted GTA

Ceci González stunning? Lol man no. They were the product of a whim and that’s all naughty dog has ever done, is been whimsical and decide to screw things up. Lol you don’t realize how colorful and vibrant the games could have been, how revolutionary they could have been in terms of sheer gameplay and eco usage. The amount of puzzles that would have been more than clever were endless possibilities. The use of eco in new ways, even ways that led to creation itself, that would have been amazing. But nope. Gun go brrrrrrrt hahahahahaha

Yeah, this game, at times, was infuriating. It wasn’t super hard, it was just so easy to mess up.
I think the hardest part for me was the final boss as a kid. I had no peacemaker ammo so I was over conscious about my ammo resources.

A little late to see it but I loved watching this speedrun! I don't even need to be a speedrunner to deeply know the frustration of the RNG spawning guards RIGHT on top of you whenever you exploit a glitch to slow you down. Hate that so much but still an amazing run!

Just played thru this again on ps4 after almost 20 yrs. One of my favorite childhood games. It was so nostalgic and so fun playing thru it again now that im older and a better gamer. Such a great series. Its crazy alot of parts i didnt even remember playing cuz its been so long. Some parts still made me rage like hell tho and took me a few tries haha cant imagine speed running this salute to you and ur amazing work! Ur a fking beast! 😂😂😂

This was quite amazing to watch. I knew about glitch flying with light jak in the third game but not this trick with the jet board!
So if my understanding of this is correct, you can basically skip 80% of missions in the game by glitching your way straight to Mar's Tomb at the start? Plus various other shortcuts? Fascinating.
You are 66% into the game at mars tomb, from there you can't percent warp further and have to hit every cutscene on the rest of the missions. So it's basically an end-game speedrun 👍
Would be awesome if IGN got jak 2 devs to react to this run.
That glitch thrugh the pillar is by far the hardest one for me to do so far
the lap skips in Class 2 race is probably the hardest for me to do all in a row

At this point I change my mind about speed running honestly I learned that people love speed running the game because they enjoy the game so much and they show how much fun they have. I shouldn’t judge them for it because I do the same thing I don’t speed run but I play the same games over and over and over again. Today I have make an apology for whatever I’ve said a few months or years ago. I like the speed runs now.

Steven Craeynest it’s a skip, pass by all the rings as long as they’re loaded and then hit the cutscene trigger. you can beat Errol faster if done perfectly
After going to the pumping station make your way to the land pad then go over the dig elevator but don’t activate the elevator then die at that spot then the load resets you will be able to make it to the factory then from there speedrun

couple questions:
how did lurker segment RNG get removed?
how does krew skip work?
Lurkers runs on the same cycle every time, but you have to destroy the cars in this order. Krew skip is a sequence of inputs to hold up to 5 peacemaker shots. So you need krew at 1/4 health left on second phase, then without holding a gun:
x, o, L-dpad then quickly R-dpad then hold R1 all before landing on the ground. Your gun should be getting brighter and brighter by the second until it reaches 5 peacemaker shots

This is an awesome speedrun. Whatever mentality that gets you the fastest time, positive or negative, I respect it, but I hope you're able to give yourself some credit how impressive this was. Question: I feel like cars are considerably faster than hovering, even with constant boosting. Is it not worth seeking out fast cars when you travel through the city, even on some longer distances?
Mostly everything has been compared so it depends on the area, some of the hover deathwarps in the run are considerably faster. I think I was like 8 hours deep on the stream? So I think I was being more negative due to being hangry and trying to clutch the first 54 lol

Currently playing Jak 2 for fun. Like 12 hour play through with no ammo for final boss fight. What do I do?
collect yellow ammo from the crates and die each time until you have full ammo

Does the Punch glitch that can sometimes happen on the ps3 not annoy you or has it been fixed?
its not a big deal, only happens in a few spots that you can avoid

Nice glitches - how much of the game does that let you skip? I'm waiting for the day this has a Pokemon-like glitch where you can just teleport to the credits
It skips to 66% of the game, and there may be something like that one day it's called construction site skip but the cutscene trigger isn't there

I was actually practicing today a bit. Skip discoveries would give me more reason to run but useful glitches and skips are hard to come by these days. Emulator is finally stable with jak 2 since last week, so I’m thinking of doing runs of that
I don’t know if I ever told you this but there is a faster way of speed running jak 2 first thing is first you need to get out of prison. Next do the part where you need to be dark jak and then from there go find your way to the northern farm of haven city then go to mount temple get all 3 artifacts after that you have to do the mission where you go to the krew to get the green security pass but you need to do a glitch in order to quickly get to the stadium the central map doesn’t load but from there you should make it to the stadium then from there you do the jet board stadium challenge to the pumping station but hurry because time will run out you need to be there before it gets under 10 seconds

im a total noob at running jak 2 but i try to learn from this run . i can now hover 100 percent of the time but how do you do such qwik speed boosts on the jetboard
Lightly tap x then quickly circle around the analog while holding r1, when you land the analog has to point straight up. The moment you land do it again and again

Ceth Deloff cause I was on pace for 54 until I choked one hover. Playing at a high level for hours a day will get to you especially in this game because it’s just so brutal. Was just mad I ruined my chance of getting a 54. Kept trying for weeks after but just didn’t get close

When I get into the temple where daxter has to run from the ball and the spider, I make it in the room to start that part but the ball doesn’t load.. like I can’t do anything cause the ball wont load. Help...

yup after you finish the mission in left tomb the game assumes you have the weapons and jetboard, as well as finished the past missions

the fact that you can fly in Jak 2 and the fastest Any% is still somehow 5x as long as the Jak 1 Any% says a LOT about this game compared to the original.
William Murderface I think the fact that the any% is 16 minutes says a lot about jak 1 speedruns 😂. Only a few years ago jak 1 world record was at a 55 so who knows what could happen.

It’s a competitive thing. Getting a new world record is fun but it’s stressful and very difficult. If you ever want to succeed in anything that’s apart of life. All of the tricks you see here are insanely difficult to pull off all in a row. And I assure you I’ve already played this game hundreds of times, so I already know the story very well for all 3 games. Go ahead and try it yourself with a timer! It’s fun to get through a level or the full game as fast as you can and then beating your previous time
