    I loved this video and the music. And I'm gonna watch the sorghum chopping. We make molasses here in NC also. I am a beekeeper and I love to eat the corn pollen the bees bring back to hive. It's so good. Thanks for sharing. Did I say I loved the music? Cause I do. Lol. Rock on and chop on.

    Local dairy farm hires my dad this time of year to help with their corn harvest. He smells like weird popcorn when he comes in at 1 or 2 am, washing his clothes is always fun shredded corn everywhere. Great video guys stay safe

    Me and several others did a field today out of Somerset Pennsylvania. My truck is a 6 axel dump. I'm an old coal patch kid...but have much much respect for all our farmers.😊

    I live by a farm and I garnden plant have an orchard but it’s nothing like that I would like to thank you for all your hard work to keep us feed they should pay you more if it wasn’t for people like you we would be dead with no food I know it’s sielage but I’m sure you do more than sielage so thank you

    Ahhh....cool....that shed some light on the subject c'mon....as I couldn't know why the neighbors was combining green corn...and the biggest thing to me was there wasn't a mess...behind the combines...lol...now I know...I'm 47 and i.learn something new all the time

    I've done that on a smaller scale with a wheat and milo harvest. I true love the feeling of having continued skill on truck and/or harvester. We ran 4 trucks and the combine stopped for fuel or end of day 🙂. Someone would bring lunch in back of a pickup, we'd set combine to auto, climb on top for a lunch fast pitch. Best not miss cuz dinner is long time off 😭.

      @@heirofabdullah6191 the corn is not separated from the stock, it is all just chopped up and mixed together. This is not consumer corn it is animal food.

    I know this is a stupid question but, if the mountain of product is removed from the land acreage….doesn’t that mean the land should be lowered by that much each harvest? Where does the mass come from? Seriously.

      Corn silage has a large amount of water and sunlight provides the energy to make the starch and sugar. There is removal of phosphorus /potash and nitrogen and small amounts of trace elements. A large amount of the chemical elements are returned to the soil when the manure is returned back to the land. Real only short fall is the nitrogen which usually is imported when planted.

      Se trata de cosecha de maíz (toda la planta con mazorca aún tierna), se pica todo como se ve, con la finalidad de hacer silos, es decir fermentación que sirve para alimentación de ganado vacuno principalmente, rico en proteínas etc. lo tapado sirve para el proceso, el silo una vez procesando se va utilizando diariamente para la alimentación hasta el nuevo ciclo. Saludos

      We're finished with corn silage season. We are currently working on custom manure pumping and getting our beans/corn combined and baled.

      Yes, the whole corn plant is harvested and fed to our dairy cows.

      @@MalechaEnterprises i read some articles other times, It said all those corn in America is genetic modified type, you can not use the seed from the plant to grow new corn, you have to buy lab grown seed from big company like Monsanto, your answer proof that articles is terribly wrong.

      In my area in NC it is common to put on 2 layers. If there is a tear or pinhole its so there wont be much if any spoilage. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

      No. It gets too hot. But bacteria start eating it and breaking it down in a fermentation process.
