Like him or not, John Davidson is the only host of the true Pyramid that we have left as both Dick Clark and Bill Cullen are now gone. Something to consider.
Actually, IMO, Donny Osmond's version of Pyramid was pretty good. However, there were a few differences in the rules that I didn't understand (i.e, no returning champions, different contestants, $25,000 had to be won in order for a contestant to qualify for a tournament, 20 seconds instead of 30 for the front game play, etc.) but it wasn't bad in general. It could hardly be called a travesty. -Matt
@jmjfanss That doesn't mean they have to mess up the theme song. The 2002 music is just some random techno music with no melody whatsoever. It's crap! One of the worse game show themes ever. "Tuning up" is the definitive Pyramid theme music.
@jmjfanss No, just NO! The 2002 theme was the worse one of them all. The updated "Tuning Up" theme for the $100,000 Pyramid facebook game sounds MUCH better.
Really was and the episode I saw part of here was terrible. The dealer was lazily presing a button to turn the cards and that's wrong. They need 2 dealers putting the cards up. We could do her job. The announcer sucked cuz he kept saying in a moment. In a monent I will turn the channel. The host was sum guy I had never even heard of. At least Perry, Eubanks and Rafferty were fairly known ppl.
exactly. Donnymid actually tried to b like the regular show but has flaws which r not good for the viewers who caught them. Bad sets and bad casting leads to turning off the television. agreed it was worst game show ever.
@telewatcher89 Both, At Least donny osmond stay true to what dick clark has done, unlike card sharks 2001 which was and still is a trainwreck waiting to happen.
4/29/91 airdate, and the tourney was four weeks away, as per Supershow 8000's episode guide on Davidson $100K Pyramid
Yes. I would love that idea.

+chrismc410 Pyramid is Pyramid, period. We do still have Donny Osmond and Mike Richards, and they hosted "true" versions as well.
John Davidson wasn't all that bad
No, Davidson was bad, possibly even worse than Osmond.
@@brb588 since you wrote that comment in 2016, I'll forgive you for not including Michael Strahan. :)
I actually would've preferred LeVar Burton as host of Pyramid.
More to come! :)
@BenJabituya Dean Goss was the Announcer on the Wink Martindale Version of "High Rollers".
And on Let's Make a Deal for several seasons in the 80s.
After seeing numerous clips on TH-cam, I can honestly say that Dick Clark was the superior Pyramid host. He seemed more genuine and engaging.
Exactly but the 80's set was classic. The should have at least kept the music for it.

True, the set wasnt half bad
@jmjfanss Are you talking about the 2002 show or the 2002 theme.
Why didn’t Dick Clark do this version?
I believe that sounds like Dean Goss
That's actually Henry Polic II, not Dean Goss.
@@calebwashingtonproductions THAT'S DEAN GOSS!!!
@telewatcher89
That's because the pyramid is in the new millennium.
unless they remix the song tuning up.
agreed

@telewatcher89
But at least pyramid 2002 was better than that extremely dreadful card sharks 2001.
@telewatcher89
I Actually like the theme more than you.
@jmjfanss The 2002 show was somewhat ok, but the theme was TOTAL crap.
ZHIBFI
@jmjfanss Ok, but it still sucks.
garfield is better
