I love Wendy, but I'm more of a fan of the WHOLE band. The Plasmatics were special and significant. Wendy was great..but she was at her absolute BEST with the Plasmatics. Ritchie, Wes, Stu, and Jean were a seriously solid and powerful quartet. They deserve A LOT of kudos. Looking forward to this vid dropping tomorrow. Thanks, Wes.

Amazing! Time sure flies. I saw the Plasmatics in concert JUne 1981 at the Gardens in Vancouver. Probably the craziest wildest concerts I had ever seen
I saw them in Boston and again in Cologne early 80’s and I can confirm it was crazy. Saw a lot of great bands around this time and the plasmatics were right up there with the best live acts ever. Never felt they translated quite so well to sitting on a sofa listening to them.
I believe you. My sister got me into The Plasmatics. I still love their music. Original and punk to the core. She tried to get into a nightclub to see them but the bouncer knew it was a fake id. At least she got to meet Ritchie outside the club and hangout for a couple minutes with him.

Make it clear they used explosives on stage and blew up a car distorting the metal blowing the hood off that may not have been bolted down but got all bent up while playing the song and dancing only feet away. Nobody crying about their feelings there 😱

You could say WOW was a pioneer in punk and metal because at the time, popular women singers were like Olivia Newton John. They were safe and mainstream. I think what Wendy O tried to do in rock was awesome. She was one of the kind. I enjoy watching her old performance clips and listening to the music. She continues to be grossly under rated.

Lasted about 18 months but it was righteous in its moment. The public walking past was not ready for Wendy & company & the look of shock & horror on their faces made all of us fans howl in laughter! (I was 19 at the time). For the finale they throw television sets out of the 2nd story window. Probably couldn't get a permit to cut up a Cadillac with a chain saw! Ah those were the days. When you could find weirdness around the corner of any block in NYC!! I feel sorry for today's youth...

I saw this tour in lafayette louisiana, at the municipal coliseum, where I had seen Ray Charles, with my parents, not the type of band that would play, my friend worked there and got qualudes for the band. Good times

Oh she was in a band...i will go to TH-cam to check it out. Here I am for the first time. It's all history and I'm here discovering it.
What I remember always appreciating about these fine shows was the attention to detail and that there was always a little treat for every member of the family , just a really classy touch that they would think of everyone with the stage antics and what not , ahh I really wish these youngsters out now would follow suit and just get more stuff for the whole family going at the various venues ... well that is my comment and I hope it is viewed upon with appreciation and what not , adieu my good friends thanks for reading and as always you know be cool and stuff .
