    For anyone interested in the Lite collection, after owning both the Lite sling and Daypack since its release, I would avoid the Chalk color. It stains incredibly easily and the stains are hard to clean. If I can go back in time I would get the "shadow"/black. Other than that the quality and materials are awesome and I still use my bags every day.

    • @Tokopilbiru
      @Tokopilbiru ปีที่แล้ว

      Is it really that hard to clean? Cuz I really have my eyes on the chalk color 😅. I’m thinking if i get the black, the size is not really go well with that color.

    I bought the backpack as a packable for a trip to Europe, but it’s become my go to bag every time I leave the house . It’s just perfect! Just enough structure, comfortable carry, the right amount of pockets. I love it even more than I expected to. It’s even done overnight trips with the small peak packing cube. I now have an Errant and CPL24 sitting lonely in the corner since the Bellroy came into my life.
    You’re spot on about the simplicity. I thought I wanted bells and whistles in a backpack, but I’ve been schooled by Bellroy here. Simple elegance and utility.

    I’ve had one of those Bellroy slings (in black) for nearly a year. I use it EVERY day. I haven’t put anything in a pocket on my pants since I got it. I can fit most paperback books in it, sometimes even a small hardback. Keys live in the front, and there’s a side pocket in the main compartment you missed that would fit AirPods, or a phone charger. This bag changed my life, in organisation and being hands free all the time. Super easy to one hand open and close. The only minor complaint I have is it sometimes gets scuffed if I put it somewhere dumb, but they have faded a bit. Huge fan, I never leave the house without it.

    • @arguchik

    I am a tiny woman who wants to dress like a victorian charles dickens character in my waxed canvases and leather details with my linen dresses, but it really seems like the bookbag game is in these more technical bags. that sling seems ideal for a primarily-book-and-notebook-carrying person too. waxed canvas and leather is so heavy.

    Here's how I've been using the Lite Duffel, Sling and Tote together for travel...when flying, I use the duffel as my personal item, and put the tote folded up in the bottom of the bag for structure, and the sling as an interior pouch, along with other gear I want to have with me on the flight. This satisfies the gate agents who will only let you have one personal item. The duffel is so smushable, as long as you don't stuff it full it will fit under pretty much any seat.
    I have to fly small regional jets, so I have a very small rolling bag that has to be gate-checked on small planes. In that scenario, the duffel easity fits in tiny overhead compartments, and I rearrange my gear at the gate to put what I need for the flight into the Lite Tote.
    On bigger planes (and longer flights) I can keep what I want for the flight in the duffel at my feet. The tote is light enough you can use a caribiner or a hero clip and hang it on the seat back in front of you to keep what you need handy.
    Once I get to my destination, my day carry is the sling with the tote inside it in case I might need to pick up shopping or carry anything bulky that won't fit in the sling. I find the sling easily carries what you need for the day and when worn in front feels very secure when your're in a crowd. Also, since you can wear it in front, it doesn't make museum guards nervous like backpacks or messenger bags can.
    I absolutely love the Bellroy Lite line; all the pieces are light enough to stow empty in your main travel bag for use later. I do have the Bellroy Venture Sling 9L which is a great EDC, but for travel, when you want to have the most flexibility to change up your bag configuration, or may be carrying your gear for hours and hours, the Lite line fits that so much better than anything else. I really look forward to seeing what else they'll come out with with this same sensibility and level of finesse.
    Thanks for your review!

    I've had the lite backback for over a year, white, and I use it as a gym bag and a bag for school when I go to campus. Absoltley the best back pack I've ever had quality wise. NO tears, anywhere, whatsoever. I'm emphasizing that because the bag is SO thin and SO lightweight, I am a rugged guy and I thought I'd have destroyed it by now, but it seriously holds its own, VERY well. It had stains from I have no idea what, threw it in the washer 1 (one) time since I've had it annnnnd... the stains are still there, but it regained it's whiteness. I love everything about it, stains included LOL. 100% worth the price. SCREW any Nike bag ever anywhere. Bellroy is the way to go!

    I’m not sure if I’m the only who one has this problem, but my lite sling in the white-ish color gets dirty VERY easily and it’s impossible to clean. I’ve spot cleaned, thrown it in the wash, followed the cleaning directions, EVERYTHING….but once that thing gets dirty it stays dirty. I suggest going with darker colors.

      You are not. Reviewers don't mention this (or how the nice mesh of the lite daypack and lite ready backpack catch BO over time and need to be washed by hand) because they don't use it. They get the bags for free to do a promotion. Not even PH or NN which say to use the bags between 2 weeks and 1month mention this issues (on some bags they do, and you can tell which bags they have actually used vs which bags they take one day out for review).

    So after watching this video, I bought the Bellroy Lite Backpack to take on a weeklong trip to Aruba. This was a great test of this bag as a travel daypack vs. others I've used in the past since we had a wide range of daily activities: pool and beach, excursion in off road "UTVs", snorkeling off a catamaran, and walks into town for dining and shopping. Sometimes it held a towel, sunscreen, and snacks - at other times it held a camera insert, neck gaiter, and sunglasses.
    Here are a few observations that others may find helpful:
    *Overall, the pack did very well. It held a lot, was fairly comfortable to wear for a packable daypack, and was surprisingly effective in the occasionally rainy weather (the material, while not waterproof, is water resistant, and the zippers kept water from getting into the interior of the pack).
    *The water bottle pocket is a little tight. I carry a 24 oz. wide mouth Hydroflask for travel. It's a fairly skinny bottle, but whether it fit in the pocket at all was highly dependent on what was packed in the other pockets. About 50% of the time, I ended up carrying the bottle loose inside the pack, which felt risky (kudos to Hydroflask for keeping a good seal!).
    *The sunglasses pocket on top was very well positioned and I usually didn't feel like I needed a separate glasses case. That said, I wish it was a tiny bit bigger - perhaps if I WANTED to have my glasses in a rigid case for protection during more intense activities.
    *The biggest issue with this pack, IMHO, is the absence of a zippered exterior pocket on the outside front of the pack. I understand that Bellroy was going for a clean aesthetic, and it does LOOK nice. But it was a hassle to always have to go INSIDE the pack for access to my most common "quick access" items. For me, those items are usually my wallet, my reading glasses, and a hero clip to keep the bag off a dirty restroom floor (or to secure it on a boat deck, as I did on this trip). These items were forced to the interior zipper pocket, making them less accessible.
    *Small additional issue: I'm a huge Tom Bihn fan. "Hello, my name is Shep and I'm a Bihnaholic." I never realized how much I would miss O-rings until I had to use a pack without them. Several of my critical daypack items are already in small Tom Bihn pouches. Without anywhere to clip them, everything just sort of fell to the bottom of this pack indiscriminately. So I found myself rooting around the pack on a number of occasions looking for something I needed that had fallen to the bottom somewhere. I actually ended up using the key leash in the zippered interior pocket as a makeshift o-ring a couple of time to make it easier to yank out a pouch with important stuff in it.
    Bottom line: Would I take this pack with me again? Maybe. But I'd probably have to think about whether the annoyances above are worth the other benefits of this pack.

    @jacobpaint ปีที่แล้ว

    Well Bellroy obviously liked this review as they have emailed it to their mailing list. I have a few small Bellroy items and enjoy them all, when I’m a little more flush with money I'll be looking into these bags to see if they suit my specific needs - hopefully they do because they all look great.

    I love the access of the main zips on the duffel and sling. Personally I wish that they’d taken it one step further and rather than having two pulls with one going each way, instead just have one pull, but do it with the style zipper you see on jackets where the zipper comes apart at the end of its travel. This way you’d get that wonderful open access, but you could get both sides of the bag fully open at the same time while cutting down the weight and bulk a tad further by eliminating one of those lovely pulls.

    The duffle has a huge gap between the zip ends and strap attachment points. Very easy to put your arm in. Other than this the bag is stylish and light. Those loops on both sides are just perfect for hanging a pair of climbing shoes on one side and a chalk bag on the other.

    Got to your video from a Bellroy email link. I rarely post, but you hit a home run on the Lite Sling review. My daily bag. SO LIGHT-WEIGHT! You hit all the design details especially the wide opening from the duel side zippers. Bag just feels right on your back no matter how full it is due to the strap compressing the bag to its smallest thickness. Yes, white material gets dirty, but I like the look of a bag well worn. Thanks for the review of a great bag from a great company (I have four other wallet/bags from them) Cheers.

    The sling - the gaps where the gussets are seem like a deal breaker. As in when it's zipped up you can still poke a finger through on either side of the bag. Seems like a huge deal breaker to me.
