Tatiana loves an enormous variety of music, and has talked about loving both Bob Marley and Gwen Stefani. As to the way the music and singing fit together, the guys create the music and then send Tatiana demo recording. Tatiana finds inspiration for the title and lyrics that fit with the music, and weaves her vocals into the music. The combination of metal with reggae works here because they are using a similar rhythm in the metal sections but making it metal. Roman the guitarist explains that Tatiana had been begging for more reggae and one day he was playing with riffs and found one with a reggae sound and the song grew from that. To hear a dedicated reggae metal band, check out Skindred's Rat Race.
Only Tatiana can make the word "deficiency" sound sexy. One has to love how Jinjer is fusing a number genre of music together. You would like " Who is Gonna be the One" (Live, Napalm Records) to see how the influences you mentioned affect their sound. (subbed)
The stance change when she growls is a good catch. Other reactors that are classically trained singers or vocal coaches have pointed out this is pretty much the same as what opera singers call a "park and bark", which iirc just means that when you have to sing something particularly powerful you plant your feet and stay in parked in a very grounded pose to let the notes out. When she's clean singing, or even a clean belt, she's often bopping to the music but the growls she's generally pretty still. She's also usually closer to the mic for screams and growls, they're harder to project so you have to let the equipment do the work rather than blowing out your voice trying to get it to the same volume as the clean singing. The intensity of the harsh singing is startling at first, but once you get past that it's actually much quieter without a microphone than a powerful belt. @@MugnifyRTS Oh, I have absolutely zero vocal skill or training, in fact my middle school music teacher let me be the only one in class allowed to lipsync during group songs lol. But I enjoy watching reactions to music I like from people who actually know what they're talking about, it enhances my appreciation and I always learn something new, so my comment was just summarizing what people much smarter than me have said lol.
No Doubt, hence Gwen Stefani, has always been one of her favorite bands as she has said interviews. The fast drumming is called blast beats and drummer actually does that.
That staccato drum rythm that Vlad was laying down are called blast beats. He does them very well. Some drummers do not. Unfortunately many of those who do not are in bands that live off of that faster type of rythm with tons of blast beats. They're very much an acquired taste on many of those bands. 😉
many thanx for your reaction! and by the way, floor jansen has as much to do with tati as an elephant has with a mouse, namely nothing at all... and Jinjer is my favorite band, I will never understand how Jinjer can be compared to Nightwish. Jinjer makes Jinjer music and Nightwish makes Nightwish music that's all. warm greetings from germany
In interviews Tatiana has said the typical writing process is, the band writes the music then presents it to Tati. She procrastinates and eventually adds lyrics. Some musical changes might be made. The end product is what we get.
Tatiana has this ability to switch between soft and hard or between fluid or metal at the drop of a dime is a testament of her badassery. Then you add in Eugene, Roman and Vlad and ya get Jinjer
I definitely think that Tatiana had Marley in mind when composing the lyrics for this. Marley was big on Social justice themes. When I was younger (90s to 00s), there was a bar I used to go to (here in Calgary, Alberta, Canada) where they'd play metal, reggae (mostly Marley) & Johnny Cash. It was kind of an alt-metal subculture that I dug. I'm no longer in that scene, but I assume that a similar subculture still exists. Jinjer would definitely fit into it. Metal is very diverse. There are other, much darker & nastier subcultures that I deeply despise (some with hubs in Ukraine, in fact) which are diametrically opposed to the social justice oriented one I just described, as well as much less serious ones. Jazz is another big musical influence on Jinjer. Check out their Home Back OMV. It has a cool jazzy section, & the lyrics are highly relevant to current events in Ukraine. th-cam.com/video/0t_I_ghmXIQ/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=NapalmRecords
Tati is also Like No Doubt, her favorite T shirt is No Doubt, just as much because its from her husband, who knew her taste. and the sound you referer to I think it's the popping snare drum, and that's one handed. Vlad is as much a beast on drums, as Tati is a vocalist
@@MugnifyRTS as you should! And I had an autocorrect mistake in my post anyway that I corrected now. I tried to say "but" I enjoy reactions to it😅 Sorry!
Bob Marley is one of Tatiana's biggest influences.
And Gwen Stefani
Shes actually really influenced by gwen Stefani, so good call.
I hear that also
Tatiana is very expressive, which imo just adds to her stage presence & makes it very fun to watch her perform.

An influence is Sandra Nasic from Guano Apes. She is a big fan.

I wish I was vocally trained to recognize that

Not sure if you have reacted to them yet, but Teacher Teacher! And Perrenial (live at Wakken) might be play list material for you 😉😬
Good reaction. One thing I really love about Tatiana's voice is here vibrato. So smooth. What am I saying? I love everything about Jinjer!

Always a like and sub for Jinjer 😁👍👍 welcome to the Jinjer journey
I believe that drum sound you asked about is called blast beats. Not sure how it is done, but the snare seems to be the main source of the sound.
🤘🤘❤🤘🤘 Hell Yeah!!!! And I'm an avid Floorshipper myself so I understand what you're saying!!! 😉❤✌

I'm just comparing the most recent things I've listened to
pure talent...best witch in the business with an epic band to boot
The scenes in the official video will help you make sense of the musical changes, you’ll notice the reggae beat goes all the way through the song
In interviews Tatiana has said the typical writing process is, the band writes the music then presents it to Tati. She procrastinates and eventually adds lyrics. Some musical changes might be made. The end product is what we get.
Yup, Marley was a big influence for Tati

There are some drummers that can do that it's amazing I know
Tatiana is a ceiling vs Floor

You’ll see her plant herself and tense up her muscles just before growling.
It is real drums and it is called Blust Beat - check Jinjer - Teacher Teacher (Official Video) - you would see how it looks like
You should check out 'Teacher Teacher' the official video, she does some rapping (sort of), watch the you'll see what I mean. 🙂
I posted that reaction
@@MugnifyRTS I shall check it out, thank you for letting me know. 🙂
I hate to mention another artist here but Brodnax "TWEEKERS AND GEEKERS" is the best I've ever heard him. It's scary how he gets better and better.
Bob Marley is an influence on everyone
I hope Jinjer is in the US currently or they may be lost to us.
First again ✊🏾💪🏾🙏🏾❤️💯🌞☕😎✌🏾
Tatiana with a cat beats Floor with no cat every time.
Yes that’s Vlad on the drums!
2 cats in the same room? Damn! Joking..
As good as this is I actually prefer the concert version of this. It really shows how tight the band is
