W124 is the most perfect sedan. I used to own a 300E, with an M103 engine, 3litre straight 6. Even those with G Wagons would respect me on the highway, that thing moves!
Those are the last e class built to last.Days when engineers were suppose build nice cars b4 the accountants too over.Merc nowadays is trash.
My dad owned w124 230E. It was powerful. I love these models.

There's something you forgot to mention about this car, the front wheels bend outwards when the vehicle attains high speeds to provide good grip on the road and traction
I want a Mercedes-Benz w124. But it has to be auto everything!. Automatic gearbox, sunroof, windows and seats. This is one sexy/bad ass car. ❤
1st car that I rode in and experienced zero wind noises. Way ahead of the other vehicles of that period.

W124 from 1993 onwards was called E class: E200 (16v 136hp), E220 (16v 150hp), E280, E320, E420, E500 and let's not forget the diesels: E200 diesel, E250 diesel, E300 diesel.

My most desirable Merc models are w124, w190 and w126. A good w190 and w126 may be hard to come by in Kenya. They seem to command very high prices abroad. I even came across a w190 Evo II at $250,000
That's the kind of car that enjoys (and requires) a good old Italian tune up every 2nd weekend ;) Any excuse to go out on a long drive
The W124 was one the last of the over engineered Mercedes Benz cars. The mono post wind shield wiper was way ahead of it's time,the system was never carried on to subsequent models because Mercedes claims it was too expensive to produce.

W210 is not only ugly but it also has rust problems as it was built when Merc was experimenting with some alloy combinations in the panels.

I have a green 1995 E300 Diesel, plus a 1987 300D. These cars are street tanks!! The W124 are great cars!! I was lucky that both owners took care of them before I bought both cars. Nothing but yeah!!!!

Great video Erick! Yenyewe the babas who had W124s in the 90s were the real Deep state. A couple of fact confirmations/clarifications:
1. The legendary Italian designer is Bruco Sacco.
2. The coupe version was the C124.
3.The competing 5 series beemer was the E34 chassis not E36 as you have stated.
I totally agree that a late year-model E200 (say 1994-95) with triple 1 engine and that 'unofficial compressor' would be really sweet car for a collector! Second only to the HAMMER!

Good review but a few facts you got wrong. The first S-Class was the W116 released in 1972 not 1996. Only the diesel versions of the W123 had foot-operated parking brake, the rest were on the dashboard. Also Rolls Royce didn't copy Mercedes's comfort, in a 1959 Rolls Royce advert they claimed that at 60mph the loudest noise in the new Rolls Royce was the electric clock. As for the FD as long as the fuel pump, modulator, and injector jets are in good condition it's a way better system than the carburetor (from my experience using both systems)
Left hand drive W123 had parking brake pedal with pull knob release. The Right Hand Drive W123 and W126 had weird T handle parking brake in dash.
About the Rolls Royce, it was a joke to kinda emphasize the comfort. car reviews have to be fun... Not everything said needs to be factual. otherwise the saying to be a poor as church mouse would elicit the need to prove it...... its only said to entertain and emphasize

The 500E was not a AMG but there was an AMG version called E60... The 500E was modified by porsche since was wider than the production line at mercedes for a normal 124 but its was not an AMG
