ABRSM 2023-24 Grade 1 Piano Exam B5 - W. Alwyn - The Trees are Heavy with Snow
I haven't been uploading the last month or so. I actually recently had my first child born this winter and I find it all very magical. I'm glad I was able to get while it was still winter.
This is an interesting piece where the left hand doesn't leave the root 5-finger position. A exercise in legato phrasing, light touch and moving the weight of the arm without actually moving the hand.
I'm not a professional Pianist. I'm mostly self-taught with a few lessons here and there. I've played for over 10 years, but plateaued a long time ago without instructions. In an attempt to go back to basics and learn how to take things more slowly, I've decided to learn all the ABRSM pieces from the syllabus that I can get my hands starting with grade 1. I enjoyed the interesting harmonies in this pieces. Continuing to work on phrasing and slurs and the balance between my left and right hands. Let me know your thoughts!
