Parallel Compression Tutorial | How To Parallel Compress Drums in FL Studio | FL Studio Tutorial

Hello Broducers!
In this video I showed you how to parallel compress aka New York Drum Compression Technique. For this I used The Glue by Cytomic. With the dry / wet knob in that plugin our job is really much more easy.
Actually, I showed 2 different parallel compression methods. One is putting the compressor vst as an insert (with Glue compressor). And tweaking the dry / wet knob of it.
And the other method is to use a parallel compressor channel as a send bus. For that I used API 2500 by Waves. Both techniques will be applied so easily and depends as your taste.

When you said gain staging, you didn't actually did that, you only moved The faders. To control The gain you must use a gain plugin on The channel! If you lower The faders, The sound will still enter with The same DB's in The processors(compressors, eq's, etc...). You can also control The gain from The sampler mix knob which is pre-fader.

You can do that without plugin, you can just use channel rack to lower the sound that is coming in the mixer

@@MuseFireMusic yes, the little knob in the channel rack or the sampler mixer volume knob( if you put it directly to the song mode) it’s pre-fader mixer.

Just realised that I forgot to cut the part from end of the video where I got phasing issues. In 9:10 when I add the EQ, it caused phasing problems. So its better to double check if you add some EQ after your parallel compression bus. Cheers!
