Really great video! I have a question. Is it possible to make music in 5.1 Surround Sound?

hi jason, this is a great video. i have a question about how to monitor this 5.1 sound. is it possible to use headphones to monitor the sound?

In order to properly monitor discrete surround, you need 6 speakers: 2 for front left & right; 2 for surround left and right; a center speaker and a subwoofer. A headphone mix can simulate a fold-down to stereo (or in some cases, via a plugin, a spatial-type encode) but it won't be the same as mixing with 6 discrete speakers.

Great vid... I have a question concerning the exporting of a 5.1 file. I mixed a featured film in Mono and stereo waves then had to fix it for theatre so I'm following this video for tips. When I'm finished though can i just export it back into the original Premier project as a 5.1 file then render the entire movie into it's respective format or do i have to create a whole new Premier project specifically for 5.1?

You would need to have your sequence in Premiere supporting 6 output channels. So the best way to do this (assuming your original sequence only had a stereo master); you could create a new sequence (with a 5.1 channel output). Nest the video from the original sequence into the new 5.1 sequence, and then you can easily import your 5.1 from Audition directly.

I am doing video editing and other visual works, besides doing some sound designing work for a different purpose, soon I am going to have a higher-end pc to work faster and robust way, I was wondering which sound card or device would be better to integrate with PC based system. I liked this video, its so simple but so depth like 80HZ sound dhummm dhummmmm...take care n cheers, wish to see more video in future.

Most USB/USB-C/Tbolt3 sound devices are pretty good these days, as their AD/DA converters are far better than anything even 10 years ago. It all depends on I/O (ie, how many ins/outs you require, and whether you require special connections like SPDIF, Optical, AES/EBU, etc). I'm a fan of Focusrite devices, and there are many configurations available.

Glad to hear it. I don't know if FL Studio exports 5.1 interleaved files.
