They did this boy dirty in season 2, he was nearly killed during training, kidnapped and nearly killed again during training, then was yelled at by everyone to the point he wanted to jump off a building, then ran off with Slade's daughter and got his heart broken. Joker was honestly more merciful than the writers.
As far as the training scene goes, I think we know that most of the Titans aren't much of a match for pissed off Rachel. The real issue with that scene is how much of an overreaction it is, but Rachel isn't known for her self-control, so whatever.
Funny thing is in the comics Jason and Dick got along really well before Joker killed him. Dick was openly pissed off at Bruce for handing the Robin title to someone else, but he knew damn well that it wasn't Jason's fault. And Jason looked up to Dick because Robin was his hero
Also if I remember correctly Dick even took Jason onto a ski trip which is a fucking big thing! They clearly did have a good relationship together there’s even a picture of it. I even remember seeing a picture of Dick raging at someone I think for being so nonchalant about their comrade dying and Dick was so pissed and started ranting about how *HE!* gave Jason his costume. Also Joker kidnapped and hid away Robin (Tim Drake) and Dick got so pissed off cause the Joker made him think he killed Tim and Dick started beating him over and over again and Joker mocked Jason’s death and the final nail in his coffin was when he mentioned Jason’s name and Dick punched him so hard he died. Honestly Dick’s temper is the worst out of the Robin’s I’d be scared as hell of him if he was my enemy and I hurt him
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with there being conflict between Dick and Jason but they just make Jason into such an asshole that it’s hard to even sympathize with him, and when he becomes red hood he’s irredeemable. I know he’s a hothead in the comics but I doubt he’s ever this much of an asshole.
Jason isn't the dude that needs to prove to anyone anything, Jason's the reckless dude that represents the anger and vengeance side of batman without the justice tethered along with it and would gladly and ruthlessly bend the no-kill rule.

I was surprised by how much I loved Curran Walters, he really brought life to that show, and excellent chemistry with Brenton Thwaites!! And it's this great place in the Batman timeline when Dick is in a darker place, and Jason has not yet been totally shit on by circumstance, so he's basically Happy To Be Here beside Batman, kickin ass and takin names. Only later, Dick comes into his own and becomes the lighthearted leader we all love, and Jason gets much darker. Cool transition. Looking forward to seeing Red Hood!!

so true from Jason though "Coming from a guy screaming "I'm not Robin! I don't wanna be Robin!" standing there in a FU++ING Robin suit and carrying that case all over the country."
Jason’s always had anger issues, and been a bit overconfident, but he was always still a good kid who put others before himself, especially in his early days as Robin. Here he’s just a dick to literally everybody for no reason.
In my own DC Cinematic Universe Brenton Thwaites and Curran Walters would both play Dick Grayson and Jason Todd but they'd be sidekicks for Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne/Batman. Since Ben's Batman had been fighting crime in Gotham for nearly twenty years Dick would been Robin at 12 in Bruce's third year as Batman to he was 19. Jason would've Robin at 13 and dies the first time when he was 17. Tim Drake would be Robin but not until after Justice League. My reason for Dick leaving the Robin name is because of two things 1. Dick thought Bruce didn't trust him to be on his own and was overprotecting him and 2. Bruce himself not wanting Dick to become Batman. Jason's fate would stay the same like the comics where he was eventually kidnapped and killed by The Joker and Harley Quinn and later ressurected by Ra's Al Ghul as the Red Hood.
