- After the Florida Panthers took a commanding 3-0 series lead, many hockey fans worldwide counted out the Oilers. No team has come back to complete a reverse sweep in the Stanley Cup Finals since 1945! However, there is something different about this Oilers team; belief. They were down and out in November near the bottom of the NHL standings. Their coach was fired, but this team believed in themselves. After all, it was a cup-or-bust season in their eyes. Once they got on a roll, they never looked back. Game 7 is going to be one for the ages, no matter the result!

Guys, I misspoke in the video. Edmonton lost the final in 1983 and 2006! Poor quality control on my part, won’t happen again!

I hope the ice isn't too shxtty in Florida. Bad ice definitely favours the Panters. The forecast for Monday in Florida is for the extreme heat index to move to the top at Danger. Last game there the ice was pretty bad. They should just play the final game in Edmonton where it will be 11 deg C monday nite. Almost hockey weather.
The amount of energy needed to dehumidify that arena is insane. I think it slightly favours the Panthers, they’re more used to it, but also bad ice isn’t great for skilled players like McDavid and Drai, although the Oilers have shown these playoffs that they are more than just skill.
Thumbs up from the Golden State as Edmonton Oilers have gone to game 7. May the Edmonton Oilers sink Florida in game 7 and bring the cup back to Edmonton.

I’ve been to Miami once in March 2019. The swings in the weather are something else, but that level humidity is intense, especially for the sport of hockey because the air conditioning machines have to use more energy to reduce the humidity.
