    Thank you! This will be a wonderful technique.

      It's really useful, especially if you put your base colour on different drawings.

    Thank you, I didn't think these programs even had alpha lock. One thing did confound me for a while: this only works on regular raster levels, not smart raster / Toonz raster.

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it's only works on standard raster levels.
      And yes, that's why I wanted to make this video. Also, there's a shortcut to setting this value. I've added details in the description.

    Loved the video Darren. The Alpha Lock setting is also available via the toolbar so we can access that without digging down into the settings of the mypaint brushes. The Erase option is there on the toolbar as well that allows all mypaint brushes to work as erasers. It is good to know about the settings though as there are a ton of options there.

      Great tip. Thanks Rodney. I'd not used it from there. I'll update the description to include this.

    very good tutorial as usual. I don't know why they didn't implement a simple magic wand to paint inside lines ?

      Thank you.
      A magic wand tool would be really useful. One thing I didn't mention in this video was that there's now a tickbox on the options bar to turn on the Alpha option.

    Sir Darren, But if I do it, as an example, if my pencil brush's opacity is 35% then brush stroke's opacity will be doubled (35%+35% = 70%). How can I fix it?

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's exactly what I'd expect to happen.
      I'm not sure how you would want it "fixed".
      You can change the settings of your brush in the settings tab to try to get the effect you're after.

    • @Mihimal
      @Mihimal ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sir, there is 1 way to fix it. what I did is I drew the outline in one Level and I filled the inside area in another level using fill bucket tool with "Fill Visible" ticked in

    • @Mihimal
      @Mihimal ปีที่แล้ว

      but the problem I have now is how to merge those two levels into one ?

    Hey buddy. This isn’t working for me. It worked for my last project. I’m confused 😐

      You must be doing something different this time round.

      @@DarrenTAnims must be. I did a work around for now which will suffice. But I’ll be looking into it. I still haven’t forgotten about how im going to figure out editing mp4 within the program. I just rendered my latest work. Keep an eye on my feed. I’ll be uploading it within minutes!
