To me WRC8/9 is full sim and way more intense than DR2. DR2 just doesn't give the same intensity as this. If this is priced fairly ( Because let's be real, it's basically 8 but with a little more polish and some extra cars+tracks), then it's a good buy. It's tiring to see so many people just sucking Codemasters pipe non-stop just because they have over- exaggerated sound and graphics.
My main gripe with Dirt Rally 2.0 is that, while it's an awesome game in its own right, the stages are generic. I don't feel like at a real rally, just samey stages slithering through some landscape. Also, every road surface feels like the cars are on ice, just drifting everywhere automatically. It's still very enjoyable but for me WRC 8/9 feels much more realistic.
@@gabor-toth At least the stages in DR 2.0 are based on real roads, unlike most of the ones in WRC games (the SSS are great, though). I played WRC 8 for 6 months when it came out and I loved it, but then I gave DR 2.0 a chance. Now I tried going back to WRC 8 and I just can't do it, I just prefer more realistic stages and the puddle effects in WRC 8 are a deal breaker (mainly on tarmac in Wales in a rain storm). Plus, I'm on console, so the 30 fps kinda sucks compared to the 60 fps of DR 2.0. And no shakedown before a rally? If they fixed these things I'd definitely buy it, because otherwise, I really like it.
So happy that i pre ordered the game, cannot wait till 03.september! I skipped WRC8 ,but now i am on the train.I want real rally championchip experience ,not ENB colorful Dirt game, with just 4 stages ,and the rest are back and forth variations.
@@od13166 What exactly you mean , i dont understand . To me even WRC 8 was better than Dirt 2 to be fair ,and now i see it even better...just my opinion !
kolysion What exactly are you expecting? Gymkhana etc.? If you want that, go play Dirt. The WRC games just get updated every year, so yeah of course they’re similar. No need to be an asshole.
I don't understand, is so difficult to have realistic sound? In a simulator, or in a racing game, sound is really important. Plus I want to see more old wrc cars like celica, corolla, 206, accent, octavia, c4, ds3...........
Well if you wait a couple of years which is when Codemasters get the licence, I`m sure they`ll all be available as DLC. Of course, so will everything else. You`ll probably get 10 tracks and 6 cars at launch and then be forced to buy everything else separately.
I wonder if they fixed any impact f the horrible aliasing WRC 8 had in this new release. I tried WRC 8 but the maps were pain to look at with jagged edges all over so I didn't buy the game. Hope they worked on that.
WRC 9 uses the same stages as WRC 8. Only two rallies will be 100% reworked. We will have to wait until October to play on the new rally for Portugal and November for Finland. For the moment, these two rallies keep the stages of WRC 8 waiting the updates.
Weather is definitely a strong point for this series. It looks and feels awesome.
Rain effects look good but the splashes look a bit cut and paste.
I see the color is a bit dark
If splashes is all your worrying about then i suggest dont play it
Yess , the car is very clean even hard rain
Best weather effects I've ever seen in a game. You can almost smell the mud.
That's because you have not seen Driveclub.
@@rubenjorge13 or dirt rally 2.0

The graphics in DR2 are exaggerated, and it bothers me a lot. The sounds, on the other hand, I would call normal, like real life.

@@krdjmtc Me too, Dirt 4 even looked far more natural. DR2.0 is full of bloomy skies and 'bullshot' clouds.
This game is really good. The WRC series is underrated. Y’all just nit picking, or Dirt Rally / sim elitists.
How are the controls this time? Playable with controller?
Now it's much better with a controller. As you can see in this video, I played with a X360 controller.
Throneful I did! Good to hear man!

Sure, as soon as I can.

Splash is same of wrc8 ?
I've noticed a difference in that the puddles aren't making the car aquaplane everytime. This is a real improvement.

The physics look wonky af, looks like a twinstick racer.
Actually I've seen in sim-racer videos that it feels great, in some aspects even better than DiRT Rally 2.0
It looks like that because the guy probably plays with controller or keyboard. It feels great with a wheel and with inside cam

Pfffff 100% same stage as last year WRC8. copy / paste😭😔🙈
WRC 8 didn't have copypasted stages from WRC 7? (I'm literally just asking)
They are the same because it is a copy of the real stages of the wrc, if in real life they change the stages they will probably change in the game too
