Well they literally said that before the release. But, they did add more stages and better handling compared to WRC8 which was already good. Tarmac and gravel feels so better than DR2, more so the tarmac
The Audio was so much better in WRC 8 with the environments and cars. The windy rainstorm and sweden's trees blowing in the wind were all so immersive in 8. in 9 its like they turned the weather/environment sound down 70% and also removed some sound fx too. Also with the three cars shown, in WRC 9 they all used the same exact sound, yet in WRC 8 they were distinctive to their respective engines. What weird decisions the Devs made for this "clone" of WRC 8 with a little more content, some physics tweaks, but also severely lacking in things like Audio FX with the environment, car sounds, etc.) What a disappointment. I would consider 9 a huge downgrade in some aspects.
I prefer WRC 8 preferably nothing to do with car sounds but more the weather conditions I watched in the part of the 1 stage that looked more realistic compared to WRC 9 and you would think it would be the other way around considering the technology of today.
@@whatthevic what is your opinion about the 2 games towards the end of the video because on WRC8 , there is a crash and it says car is severely damaged and you have to end the stage where as on WRC9 , the same crash is shown but it just bounces into the barrier with not much damage , does that show that WRC8 is more realistic?
WRC 9 - Does anyone else feel that the pace notes are spoken too fast & many times you catch the first part but don't get the other parts. Right 5 tightens into crest....blah blah blah.

I have WRC 9 on PS5 and WRC8 on PS4 and I can tell the differences. The gameplay is perfect on WRC9 and graphics are better and the PS5's controller is a big plus. I can't put it in words but PS5 controller is fire
I think that the content, physics and force feedback has been improved. Especially the car reaction from bumps and jumps is much more brake-and throttle related that before when the car would just fly like feather uncontrollably.
@@jonfriktion07 I recently bought it and it feels way better. WRC 8 felt like it had too much grip but it was easy to spin and crash at the same time; it's hard to explain. Now the car slides more easily, weight transfer is way better for pendulum turns, for instance. And cars sound much better now as well.

I purchased 9 but two things I noticed that weren't really game breaking but more of annoying was a dumb sound bug, that makes everything go silent temporarily and the same engine noise for all cars. Other the game is pretty fun and it has some really hard stages compared to Dirt Rally 2.0
have found a solution^^ Copy the desired sound files of the cars from WRC 8 / Win32 / Sounds / Vehicles to WRC 9 / Win32 / Sounds / Vehicles. it works for me with the Citroen and VW. I'm still testing the others ^^
Indeed.The car sounds are very similar if not the same in WRC 9. The sound in WRC 8 is more realistic.It appears the developer put way more effort in 8 than in 9

Wrc 10 is just a demo, the game still has 2 and half months of development for fine tuning stuff so it will probably be a bit different than the current demo.

In Wrc 8 there is 14 different countries with 7 stages in each one of them. And the physics and feeling feels nice and fast. Wrc 8 wins on stages, end of story.

I brought "wrc collection 2" (wrc 8,9,10) for Xbox x/s for under £6. I've played all 3, wrc 8 is great due to being an Xbox one game& runs great. Wrc 9 runs much smoother due to being optimised for Xbox series x/s& plays great. Wrc 10 for Xbox series x/s although next gen, looks& plays great it feels like this next gen version with all its next gen graphics& upgrades makes the game struggle where as my Xbox one version of wrc 8 struggles not& wrc 9 for Xbox one which sees optimization on my series s plays lovely. I own dirt 3 on Xbox 360 backwards compatible and looks& runs amazingly. Point being, optimised next gen games& last gen games all look& play great, these next gen games do too much& gameplay suffers.
I have WRC10 and want to get 9 or Generations for the 5 rallies that aren't in 10, but which one? The decision comes down to the physics (I prefer using the VW polo). I have WRC7. The light car, bouncy shocks and bad camera of 7 seems to be in WRC8 as well (looks that way in videos). So are those 3 things in WRC9 as well, or is 9 close enough to 10 to make it worth getting?

I think dirt rally 2.0 is way cheaper than wrc 9 so it's your choice, but I do not recommend you to buy dirt 5 (if you are looking for rally game) because its physics is very arcade

Un efecto fundamental donde el wrc8 gana x lejos es que el coche se va ensuciando gradualmente a lo largo de la carrera mientras q en wrc 9 el coche se ensucia mucho durante el primer minuto del recorrido y luego se mantiene igual de sucio. Los efectos de polvo y barro en el coche son el principal déficit de la saga WRC respecto a la saga Dirt, para mi, si mejoraran esto sería perfecto ya que en cuanto al entorno WRC ofrece paisajes mucho mas completos, complejos y realistas que la saga Dirt.

I own both and there is a nice improvement with the physics, not to mention the new locations. It's an annual game so the changes aren't massive but taking steps of further improvements
If you own wrc 8 and thinking of getting wrc 9, don't bother. If your thinking of getting wrc 8 or 9, get 8. Wrc 8 is hands down better in every way than wrc 9
What I like the most in wrc 9 is that car moves in screen,not with the screen.
For me this is very important in racing games,feels way more realistic.
I had a hard time figuring out how to explain it but Dirt rally 1's camera is more like WRC 9 and that's why I prefer it as well
I think we can setup the cam to be more flexible.
Cockpit is the most realistic
But in 8 there is 2 options in 3rd person, fixed and loose cam.
If you want it to feel realistic you shouldn't be driving as you hover above and behind the car, use the cockpit view😂

Un efecto fundamental donde el wrc8 gana x lejos es que el coche se va ensuciando gradualmente a lo largo de la carrera mientras q en wrc 9 el coche se ensucia mucho durante el primer minuto del recorrido y luego se mantiene igual de sucio. Los efectos de polvo y barro en el coche son el principal déficit de la saga WRC respecto a la saga Dirt, para mi, si mejoraran esto sería perfecto ya que en cuanto al entorno WRC ofrece paisajes mucho mas completos, complejos y realistas que la saga Dirt.

feeling like the only thing they change between new games are the sound
I own both and there is a nice improvement with the physics, not to mention the new locations. It's an annual game so the changes aren't massive but taking steps of further improvements

If you own wrc 8 and thinking of getting wrc 9, don't bother. If your thinking of getting wrc 8 or 9, get 8. Wrc 8 is hands down better in every way than wrc 9
