I just finished SQ in my school and didn't have any problem to understand your simple setup I did traffic lights with one SQO and TON in 30 min,the best way guys to learn this get trade school like me and you will be pro ;) ...nice explanation
TK, Thanks for this video! I have a valve on a flare skid that is apparently causing a pressure drop at the gas facility when it goes online. The valve modulates based on vacuum control until a certain maximum flow is seen at the flare. Once maximum flow is met the value is controlled by flow and a secondary flare is started to deal with the excess gas. I found this video useful because we decided to open the valve to 5% after X time and then 1% every X time until it reaches 20% or flame is confirmed at the flare. I started writing the logic in just normal ladder format but soon realized the size of the ladder file and the number of interlocks to not load more than one position value into the output register was becoming very cumbersome and I feared I would miss something due to the overall size and repetitiveness. This instruction allowed me to use 1 timer instead of 16! It also made it much simpler to confirm only one position value would be sent to the output register! Cheers, DL
@BTCInstrumentation Thank for sharing your knowledge. You do a great job at getting your point across and going beyond just the bare minimum. I have viewed some of your other videos. Very clear and effective communication style.
Hi, I have question for you that what is different between PLC programming Vs PLC troubleshooting? and also as do we assume if someone working in PLC troubleshooting he also specialist in PLC programming?
@dustyivey89 Sequencer instructions can be very confusing, no doubt about it. Rockwell's manuals aren't that helpful either. They tend to start out with examples that are too complex for a beginner, IMHO. The best way I've found to learn any PLC instruction is to make simple demonstration programs like this one to explore (hands-on) how it works.

Sequence position 1 always reads from word 1?
Not from word 0?
Is this correct??? 🤔

if i m using cylinders to actuate in sequence, how can i do that?Thank u
hello sir ...what is the difference between o:0/0 and o:0.0
Can I use mora than one SQO instruction in the same program?????. Please safe my life jaja
It depends how you intend to use the SQO instructions. My advice is to write a simple demonstration program on your PLC and find out!
+BTCInstrumentation do you know a way to reset the SQO to the starting position, thank you.
Difficult to see some of the text on the screen, but good informative video nonetheless.

thanks a lot
Speak up! I have my laptop volume maxed out and I still can barely hear you!
Hii Which PLC you are using ? Can you give a link to that site ?
This is an Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1000 PLC. Your local Allen-Bradley distributor will be able to spec price and availability.
