- Welcome to my hair product review series for high porosity hair. In this video, I will review the Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate line and more precisely the conditioner and intensive treatment. The silver line by Redken, which is what I like to call it, is meant for damaged hair and has proved to be extremely useful for color treated hair. While my hair is not color treated, it is naturally high porosity and I can say the line works just as well. My hair feels heavy, moisturized, silky and strong. I recommend the purchase of this line for high porosity hair

The intensive treatment you use before you shampoo. It's considered a pre-treatment.
I have also read this and tried it and found I get better results on washed hair and if I layer the conditioner on top. I find it doesn’t penetrate as deeply on unwashed hair
@HighPorosityCentral ohhh ok. I will try that. I personally like the conditioner but I see no need for it in my hair routine. I think I would get the full bottle intensive and try the 5 minute hair mask. I bought the travel size bundle for 30 bucks at ulta. I got a lot of uses out of it. You are right! A little goes a long way.
@@loveinpeace1214 that’s how I feel about the shampoo of the line. There’s simply no space in my routine for it and it would be a waste of money for me.

I saw the exact same list of ingredients for the L'oreal citric acid mask as the Redken one. Same 14% of the active as well. So I ordered the $8 L'oreal one instead of the $30 Redken one. Hasn't arrived yet. So far I've used k18 to great effect for elasticity and resiliency and Olaplex 0 and 3 for strength. I'm curious to see how the L'oreal compares.
After several uses I must say, the L’Oréal is also exceptionally good. I don’t think I will repurchase the REDKEN. The added benefit for the price isn’t there imo, but they are great products nonetheless.
I really don't like the Loreal Citric Acid Mask. Tried for 6months, and really didnt do the same as the Redken one. But Loreal owns Redken, so of course they know the indgredients

Why are you layering a pre shampoo treatment over conditioner??
Because it works for some reason. Just the conditioner or just the treatment do not give me the same effect. In general, I’ve found that layering conditioners is very effective.
Does the redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate pre-shampoo come sealed? Like, the hole? Or just the cap?
some other youtuber recommend this products for low porosity hair.. I'm confused now lol
This doesn’t actually contradict my recommendation. There are products that work for both hair types. This line could be one of them, although I can only vouch for high porosity hair. Just to compare: Olaplex is one of those lines that don’t work for low porosity hair. People often complain of oiliness and lack of effect. On high porosity hair, however, Olaplex works amazingly.

Please tell me a good shampoo and clarifying shampoo for high porosity hair
I’m not a fan of clarifying shampoos because they can be very irritating to the scalp. Instead I use a hair peeling. The mint one by the body shop. If your hair and scalp can take it, using head and shoulders classic clean once a month also works well. No need to break the bank for a sulfate shampoo imo.
Yeh I went to buy K18 to try it out tonight but the shop had closed 😢
K18 is also on my list of products to try. I actually have a new product from Schwarzkopf, which is said to be just like it. So far it’s great and I’ll talk about it. It’s more affordable than K18, I believe
