I liked that the Kaya game was kept in the video a lot. Discussing and analyzing a game like that is peak content for me. Especially since learning to see one's own mistakes is very important to improve and an important skill :).
I actually quite enjoyed the "garbage fire" deck that beat CGB. It's unique, I've certainly never seen it before and it is very good at keeping that hand full.
Yeah, it's really one of my favourite cards in standards. Too bad Farewell makes irrelevant any late game strategy not involving planeswalkers; I hate that card.
"Garbage Fire" hahaha thank you for showing us that game CGB. It is extremely entertaining to see your ups and downs while filming. Thank you for the fantastic content as usual sir.
It's great to see that you have made a way to make Golgari control'ish shell, with shigeki - I had huge troubles with making this archetype work in current meta, outside of usual midrange/aggressive pile - love your version! Well done as always, and thanks for the video :)
Can't get over how much I love shelly. I have won at least 3 games over the last week with my opponent on 2 life and they draw a card to go 0 from shelly. Just such an epic feeling. Solid plays with golgari! Interesting take on them. Stoked for the next deck to see you keep rolling mythic with boss. I'm up in gold for the first time ever thanks to watching some of your vids and other magic youtubers. Thanks!!

aggro? all im playing are blue or white or white/blue counter-counter-counter-counter-one big thing that kills you. hahaha, such fun, such interactivity. i WISH there were aggro decks somewhere.
@@mo938 im diamond, but the video disproves your point. he played 2 aggro, 2 midrange and 3 control. ...and btw i dont see how these control decks are more difficult to navigate than red aggro... they are definitely not more fun to play against and it takes aaaages to finish a game. when youre just want to do the dailies and get in a 30 min match - as he did - thats beyond annoying, which is why i stop playing ranked. the one pack more isnt worth the time wasted.
One sided format 2:03 is true. Crokeyz mono red is a 68-71% win rate, meaning any other deck has got to be losing to it. I took a fresh F2P account from bronze to platinum with a 69% win rate using mono red last 2 weeks.
Was not committing Trespasser to the in grave Kaya actually a relevant error? They just Takanuma in response and save Kaya. It's probably still technically incorrect in case it's not in their hand but I don't think it substantially impacted the game.
Was it really a missplay against the "garbage fire" deck ? I mean opp could have used takenuma in response to the tresspasser trigger to get back the Kaya, right ?

Cool deck. Played something similar but with invoke despair because it’s so good. Also hope the opponent renames their deck to Garbage Fire. Especially if it took off and became quite popular.

Good on ya CGB, always coming through with the clutch Shigeki concepts. Crafted Shigeki to build a CGB deck, loved that card ever since. Rock on CGB! (see what I did there? Rock, Golgari...😂)
Playing the trespasser earlier in the game was not a mistake. They would have takanuma'd in response anyway. However your last play of NOT playing the other trespassers was definitely a mistake at such a low life total. Should've played them out just to gain life and soak up more removal before the inevitable invoke. But I'm assuming Arena would've drawn you another land anyway XD. Great game tho.
I'm playing a Golgari midrange pile to stomp Mono red. Azusa's Many Journeys, Contagious Vorrac, Jewel thief, Glissa, Sheoldred, Titan of Industry as creatures. 4x bankbuster 2x glorious sunrise for card advantage. Gixs command, sorin and black removal. I tried Titania's command but found it disappointing. Titan of industry was better. One nice thing about the deck is that Cut Down is almost completely dead against it.
I think invoke despair is a definite upgrade though I get the card has been around for so long and is kinda boring. Kinda want a sultai version of this, or a non slogurk lands sultai deck.
Mono red like crazy for CGB. 147-Card unearth jank for me. And all I had to do was queue with my Mill deck. Remarkable how "confirmation bias" (as the sychophants say) can literally change the cards in your opponents' decks.
Damn rigged matchmaker and shuffler and hand smoothing algorithm and deck builder, especially the deck builder because if only it built good decks I wouldn't lose.

The game against the "garbage fire" deck was actually really interesting to watch, and I'm glad you included it.
Everything he loses to is garbage. Meanwhile the dude probably just wanted to use the new planes walker but it's hard to reach 7 mana vs mono red.

Not to mention that it's crazy variance that he didn't find a since gix's command since it's a clean answer to the problematic Kaya.
only so many ways to beat monored before it gets stale, ofc he keeps the odd matchups

Same lol, I was thinking some of the card choices were questionable but the deck seemed fun.
In fairness, that full hand nearly lost them the game didn't it? 5 cards left. That deck just gets exploded by anything running Jace.
Shigeki is one of my favorite cards for the same reasons. It does so much. Ramping and providing card advantage in the late game is so powerful

It looked painful on CGB’s side but seemed to be somewhat balanced because the orzhov deck had like 4 cards left in the library.
Yeah it was a close game and it was pretty interesting to watch, maybe he just got salty because the last two draws hosed him.
I legit screamed at the play with cutting down the pilot token!
That cutdown on your own creature would have caught damn near anyone off guard. Well, at least in best of 1.
You could hear that poor monoblack player's soul getting crushed with the Cut Down on the pilot.
