    Awesome video! And dude, you sound like Mr. Rogers describes a tree house. Love it. I’m gonna build this for my kiddo!

    I modeled mine off of this video quite a bit. i put photos on reddit and folks told me the lag bolts connecting the main beams need to cut out some wiggle room so that wind comes the trees aren't forcing the beams to bend. mine had already begun a very concerning structural crack, so i went and cut a 6 inch long slot so the lagbolt can slide around a bit, also a bit of slack with the lag bolt so that it can slide the other way as well, i put in a metal plate on the slot so it's metal sliding on metal. you only need one of those slots per beam.
    I also messed up with the joists, i did 2x4s and u need 2x6 for floor, so i need to buy more 2x4s and sister them to the existing joists, giving it a 4x4 support.

    All tree houses are built differently..as well all know not all trees are the same, that’s the creative beauty of it, well done.. I’m working on mine for my daughter and nephew..gave me some good ideas

    Thanks for the informative video. Do you know the size of the lag bolts you used for the support beams?

    I'm working on mine currently, this video has helped a lot because mine is also being support by multiple branches with lags. I'm using 2x8 main supports, 2x6 for the outer box and floor joists are 2x4s. using 5/4" treated planks for flooring, but still need to do more structural support and then the flooring goes in, then the railing and ladder, thinking of doing a trapdoor entrance.

    are the hangers the only thing you used to attach the floor joists to the support beams?

    Am I able to attach the 2 middle joists to the tree? For more stability.

    I wanted to ask how sturdy those hand rails are. I'm using 2x4s and it doesn't feel great.

    Think your video so far has been the moat helpful with my DIY tree house. I'm not too sure if I'm using the bestbtree though for our tree fort, its a giant cherry tree and it drops like 50 billion cherry every year, gross cherrys too, pointless mess, but our home is a rental, and its our only south of the house tree so its the only shade we have so I really don't want it to be taken down, it is beautiful, but its just a big mess every spring and summer, it produces twice a year, one in spring then another in mid summer..but its the only tree we've got in the backyard to do a fort in, hoping its not just a giant bowl for rotting cherrys to pile up in,lol.

    Couple problems with this build for one it is not pressure treated lumber, the nails you used are not galvanized, when you fasten your support beams to 2 branches they grow uneven, eventually over time it will fall out of level. Good backyard build for the kids though

    Nice vid, but not really a tree-house. More a tree-platform. I'm looking to build an actual cabin / 1-room house, up in the tree tops out in the bush. (Guess I'll keep looking on YT)

    A serious 2 key to building a kids treehouse is #1 camouflage the "triepka" style tree with low and dense branches is ideal, if you fall out it's close to the ground, our first home had a "British Conifer1" full grown you get in there and using your rip-saw cut out 3-4 branches with the bottom row remaining for cover this only allows a 1.5m square treehouse so it's Children only yes you build in a bench for seating see the British Conifer1 has a thick trunk so wind gusts don't destabilize the treehouse #2 build the treehouse on the north side of the tree if in the southern hemisphere so rainfall is gone quickly and if your treehouse is in the front yard as ours was it becomes a centre of interest with neighbouring Children so short-term fun even though the 2"×1" ladder rungs are placed on said tree where Children on their way home from School cannot see them.

    • @jasonmorris858
      @jasonmorris858 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Key1 ---- climbing around in some trees one's with tree sap aka tree resin is getting said resin off your own hands mostly the answer is at your own feet the bare dirt under the tree rub your hands with the dirt surprise resin gone that soap does nothing for.

    • @jasonmorris858
      @jasonmorris858 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You know it you want to get fancy with doors and windows but all you're doing is building a garden shed that's stuck up a tree put a floor opening in a square the size of a milk crate and put ladder rungs on the side of the tree underneath the square build your roof/ceiling with a 1" gap to let light in see you only see tree branches otherwise see it's best as a den.

    • @jasonmorris858
      @jasonmorris858 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      See Kid Carpenters if you want Dad to build you a tree house get Dad to score some "shipping pallets" that forklifts lift see lay down on a pallet if you're shorter you can hide your tree house which should be a den see you can get 1 1/2 length pallets but things get technical it's best short-term over 1 summer when you're stuck in Grade1 Primary School it's what School is all about you'll realise housing is more than your Parents having magical control it's you next, see the standard shipping pallets "Chep" make hardwood pallets they take heavy load get 1 for the flooring cut out a milk crate square at whichever point is ratty then use the cut off pieces to strengthen the exposed slats see get another 5 pallets the pine one's they're cheap but structural realities aren't as serious they only support their own weight see opposite the corner you've cut out those 2 sides you get some 4" ×2" building seating cover everything including making a flat roof with 1 ply it's cheap, see Kids you'll realise how important your real home is and stay in there, something every Kid should do.

    i guess the actual "support" here are the beams going from the edges back to the base of the tree?
